NBMCH, Darjeeling review - REAL and No Bakwas.

Placements: Since it's an MBBS, most of our colleagues get 100% internship after 5 years of study. In the internship, the average stipend is about 30k (as of 2024), which increases to 42k in-house staff positions, which only the students with good overall marks get. Some students go for NEET PG preparations.

Infrastructure needs to be improved.

Placements: Currently I'm a 3rd proff (part 1) student. The interns in our college right now are currently receiving a stipend of Rs. 30000. During the internship, many people opt for working in a private nursing home as well and hence earn a fairly good amount. Post-internship, many doctors opt for house staffship, during which they get a salary of Rs. 45000–50000; during this time they can also prepare for NEET PG exams. Apart from post-graduation, you can also opt for GDMO with a salary of Rs. 80000-9000...

The infrastructure in our college is very bad, hostels are just overcrowded, and not hygienic.

Placements: Our college offers good courses like MBBS, BDS, nursing, and PG. The need for medical practitioners is increasing every passing minute, so each and every graduate from a medical college is working or has been placed. As for the average package, it varies where you practise.

Review of North Bengal Medical College, Darjeeling.

Placements: About 1% of students in a year who sits for the entrance passes to get chance for the course. Salary is not offered in our course except for the stipend of an internship. The highest stipend offered is about Rs. 24,000 per month in a government college like ours. There is no question of placements in our course.

Good, reputed, hygiene and infrastructure could be better.

Placements: 1. According to the new WBUHS guidelines there are 200 students per batch who join the MBBS course. 2. A salary of Rs 28000-30000 is given to the interns who have completed their 4.5 years of course. 3. There are no recruiting companies as such in MBBS. 4. Among the 200 students atleast 92-93 percent students pass the final professional examination to be able to do the internship. 5. After a period of 5.5 years (4.5 years+ 1 year internship) the students recieve the MBBS degree.
