B.E. in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering - Batch of 2018
Offered by Padre Conceicao College of Engineering
3.8

Review of Padre Conceicao College of Engineering.
Placements: Around 15 students out of 65 students got placed on campus and 2 got placed off campus. The highest salary package offered was 4 LPA and the average salary package was 3 LPA. Top recruiting company was TCS. Our batch got internships at Voltas for the six sigma course. Top role offered was software analytics.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi and a spacious library with all the required books and journals were available in our college. Hostel facility was not available. Canteen was average and the food served was average. Sports ground was available and frequent sports events were held.
Faculty: Faculty members in our college were helpful and well qualified with Ph.D. in their particular subject. The course curriculum is relevant and makes students industry ready with internships and talks. Semester exams are held on time. The difficulty level of exams was high in all aspects as the questions were tricky.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest in it. This course helps students learn all the aspects of mechanical engineering. Our college should expose students more to industry life and arrange visits to manufacturing companies. Campus life was the best for all the students who want to learn and grow their careers.

I am absolutely dissatisfied with the faculty, the infrastructure, and facilities of the college.
Placements: Around 10% to 15% of students were placed in our course. The highest package offered for our course was around 4 LPA to 5 LPA, and the lowest package offered was around 1.8 to 2.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies for our course are Sun360, Persistent Systems, CommScope, TCS, etc.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi facility on the college campus is not good. It is not suitable for downloading important notes or installing any software for practical purposes. Classrooms and labs are quite small, with no CCTV cameras installed. The quality of food in the canteen is not good. There is no proper hygiene and cleanliness maintained while preparing food or any other snacks. Sports infrastructure is not good. Students have to play any sort of indoor or outdoor games outside of the college campus wherever there are sports facilities available.
Faculty: The teaching quality is average. There are teachers who are helpful and qualified, but there are also teachers who teach for the sake of money and do not help students solve their doubts and academic problems. They scold students. They tell them to work hard and study on their own and complain to their parents if they perform badly or average in their academics. The course curriculum is very relevant and applicable to industry standards. Students are not industry-ready. The college does not have all the lab equipment to allow students to get a good hands-on experience of what is available in the industry. Semester exams are average. Sometimes they are difficult and sometimes they are moderate and easy. The pass percentage is around 70 to 75%.
Other: I chose this course because I have a lot of passion for electronics, communication, and the latest technologies used to make a change in society and transform people's lives into an easier and more modern/fast-paced way of living. The best things I learned about this course are image processing, consumer electronics, instrumentation, digital electronics, etc. The things I wish to improve the course are that I feel students should be exposed more to the industry standards required to get a job by including the latest equipment and technology in the labs with better quality software so that students get good hands-on experience, and field trips should be conducted twice in a semester so that students get industry exposure and know how work is done in the industry and take an interest in which department they can work in maybe in their career ahead. Events are held once a year. The campus crowd is quite small in size. Scholarships are not available at this college. The finance or administration department of the college cheats the students and disallows many government schemes available to them. Extracurricular activities are not encouraged by the college authorities. They are left to the students at their own risk. They get marks only if they reach a certain level of standard in their activities.

The college has a good campus, and the staff is excellent.
Placements: Most of the students got placed in good companies. In the batch of 2018-2022, around 65% of the students got placed. The highest salary package offered was 8 LPA. The lowest salary package offered was 2.33 LPA. Students got an internship in good companies in India.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is very good, and it does a lot of work to improve it. Classrooms, library and canteen, are very good. Sports facilities are also very good. The quality of the food served in the canteen is also very good.
Faculty: Teachers help us a lot, and they are very knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is also very good. They make students industry-ready, but it also depends on the students' performance and their hard work. The course curriculum is very good and relevant.
Other: I have chosen this course because I like this field. I feel that there should be some improvement made in our college.

Review of Padre Conceicao College of Engineering.
Placements: There were no placements for our batch. Only a few students got it for an average. The highest salary offered was Rs. 25,000 per month and they were offered placements in other states. The senior batch didn't get more placements. Very few students got placed, and the rest had to search on their own. Many got into MBA while others did some courses to get into industries.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure was good with big ventilated classrooms and good enough labs. However, the equipment was sparse. The college does not provide Wi-Fi. The quality of canteen food was below average. There were no sports, and none of the students was encouraged in it. There were no hostels.
Faculty: Faculty members were below average, and many contract faculty were rude. Teaching was only theoretical. They couldn't explain practically. There was no on-field exposure and industrial exposure provided by the college. The course curriculum was outdated, and it had no relevance in practical and contemporary life.
Other: The college organises a few events. There is no connectivity and college does not provide scholarships. The college did not conduct extracurricular activities.

I am very much satisfied, and I had a great learning experience.
Placements: Placements in our college were good. But, not all the students were placed. In a small state like Goa, there were only three engineering colleges (at that point of time), and we expected most of the students to be placed. There were no mass recruiters, though.
Infrastructure: The college is equipped with good facilities. A library is available. Food provided in the canteen was yummy. The majority of students relied on canteen food, and the prices were reasonable. We did not face any major infrastructure related issues as such, but there was no Wi-Fi facility.
Faculty: Faculty members were good. They all were very helpful, and most of them made sure to share a good bond with students. This allowed them to get an insight into the lives of students beyond the classroom. Many teachers made sure to make sessions fun and interesting, and the efforts they put in were evident.
Other: Mithya is the name of our college fest.
