Effectiveness of Placement Cell for B.E./B.Tech Courses at Modern College of Engineering

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's an overview of the effectiveness of the placement cell for B.E./B.Tech courses at Modern College of Engineering:

    * Placement percentage: Around 30-40% of students get placed, with companies such as Harman, Make My Trip, Zensar, TCS, Cognizant, Barclays, and others participating in campus placements.
    * Average salary package: The average salary package offered ranges between INR2-INR4 Lacs per annum.

Modern College of Engineering with a modern way of education.
Placements: Placement ratio is high, comparatively high, in modern PES college as compared to other colleges. Most of the students from my batch were placed in reputed companies like TCS, Tata, Wipro and others. Also, students are placed before the final exams. The highest packages are 6 to 7 lacs given to students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college campus is good and friendly. Classrooms are also good with provided college wi-fi, and the college has a good canteen with affordable rates of food. The instruments and practical labs are well-equipped with required machines and instruments and also provide actual training to students.
Faculty: The faculty of the college is good and very helpful to all students and they also support and motivate students for different and unique projects that may be selected at different higher levels. Course curriculum is set according to SPPU University. Semester exams are quite difficult and passing criteria is 50% of total marks.
Other: I chose these over other courses because electrical engineering has future scope. The college also organizes different events, fests, annual gatherings, and annual functions and competitions. The college is also located in the main area of Pune, so many facilities are available nearby.

Overall, the college is decent. College have decent placements.
Placements: The college has decent placements, with about 70-80% of the batch getting placed. The average package is 3-4 LPA, with the highest being 12 LPA and the lowest being 2.5 LPA. Most of the mass recruiter companies visit the college. As per university rules, an internship is compulsory in the 6th semester.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is good, and every floor has wifi. The college has a good library, and there are water filters on every floor. The college restrooms are clean and hygienic, and they are cleaned regularly.
Faculty: The faculty at this college are good. They have a good understanding of the curriculum and are knowledgeable about the subject matter. The college conducts two exams: an insem exam that is worth 30 marks and an endsem exam that is worth 70 marks. If you study hard, you will pass the exams.

Might wanna consider a better college
Placements: The placements are average, lowest 3.6 LPA and highest 12 LPA offered to 2 students and average of 4-4.5 LPA. Companies coming for placements include Tech Mahindra, PTC, Cognizant, Q Spiders. Most of the companies put a percentage cap so top scorers get higher priority, I have so many friends who aren't academically good but are technically really strong and better than rest of the batch but they don't even get interviews just cause their scores aren't good on paper. A good chunk of people don't sit for placements due to higher studies.
Infrastructure: The campus is really small with no ground. It's only 1 building with 2 departments on each floor. There is no hostel for boys. Since the campus is small students cannot park their vehicles inside easily, it's too crowded that you don't even have path to walk sometimes. Most of them park on roads outside, plus they charge 5rs each day you park. Wifi is there but only near library area, most of the time you have to sit without internet as there is no signal.
Faculty: Teaching is average/above average. There have been multiple teachers who managed to spark an interest in me for their subject but overall it's average like any other tier 3 college. There also are teachers who join for experience and then later switch for better colleges. The curriculum is set by SPPU which this college is affiliated to and overall it isn't that hard but the management like exams and practical aren't properly scheduled sometimes, like for example there was a time where we gave midsemester exams and after 2 days we gave end semester exams.

Average college with average faculty, average placements.
Placements: Very few students are getting placed due to the recession period and other situations. The highest package is around 10 LPA, while the lowest is 2-2.5 LPA, with an average of around 3.5 LPA. This year's recruiting companies are rtCamp, PTC, and PlanetSpark for branches like Mechanical, Computer Science, IT, and ECE.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is average; currently, the college is under construction for another floor, and the campus is small as it's in the middle of the city. The canteen is also average with not many options to try. The Wi-Fi connection is decent on campus, and the classrooms and library are also decent.
Faculty: Some teaching staff members are nice, while some are not. All of them are qualified. However, the course isn't updated, and it doesn't make you industry-ready; you might have to take other courses and classes from outside to become industry-ready. The exams are set by SPPU, and the passing criteria is to get 40/70 marks for passing (including in-sem and end-sem).
Other: If you don't get CS/IT, then ECE is the other option. If the syllabus gets updated, then it could be even better. As the campus is small, therefore not many events and fests take place. The surroundings are better as it's in the middle of the city.

An average engineering college, but has kind of good placements, and the faculty is somewhat good.
Placements: The placements are kind of good, like that's what I heard but can't confirm. Last year, the highest package was 17 LPA or something. Companies like TCS, Amazon, and many more visit every year. The placement rate must be around 95%; maybe I don't know the exact number, sorry.
Infrastructure: It is an average engineering college. Labs are good but just need some fixations. The food in the canteen is somewhat good, but that too rarely. Our college is really known for it's sports, though. But the playground is really small, though. The classrooms are also spacious and well lit.
Faculty: First-year faculty was really good and supportive. Currently I'm in my second year, and the faculty is kind of okayish. They do teach kind of okay, but they just teach and go without really explaining things. But the teachers are really very supportive and cooperative.
Other: Not many events there is only one cultural event that is SPANDAN. But there is a Technical event of our college.

Average academic college but in great environment.
Placements: Our college made sincere efforts to ensure that every student was placed. However, those students who were not serious about internships were not selected by the college for internships. It is important for students to actively search for internships and take the initiative to secure them. Companies like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Capgemini, Cognizant, Aloha, Godrej, etc., which fall in the middle range, offered salaries ranging from 4 lpa to 8 lpa. In our batch, only 60% of students were placed as business development analysts and system engineers.
Infrastructure: The college is located in the central area of Pune, which can sometimes make the campus feel congested due to heavy traffic. However, the old building adds to the aesthetic appeal, making it a great experience to study or live here. The hostel fees are quite expensive, so many students opt for PG accommodations or rental flats. Unfortunately, the mess and canteen facilities within the campus are not up to par, so it is advisable to explore options outside the college for better food choices.
Faculty: The modern college boasts a highly experienced faculty for each subject, with over 15 years of teaching experience and a deep understanding of placement requirements. The courses were designed by an old university, but the college has updated them by adding extra subjects to enhance knowledge. However, passing all the subjects can be challenging for everyone.
