RGIPT BTech course admission 2024 is entrance-based as the institute accepts the rank and scores obtained by candidates in the JEE Advanced or JEE Mains. However, during the preparation of the merit list, preference will be given to JEE Advanced qualified candidates by the institute and, if seats remain vacant in any of the branch after completion of the seat allotment in regular rounds, then those vacant seats will be filled based on JEE Mains rank.

JEE Advanced will be held for 6 hours in total. There are 2 paper in the exam and each paper is of 3 hours duration. This makes the total time of the exam as 6 hours. The exam pattern varies each year. There are 2 papers in the exam. Paper 1 and Paper 2 of JEE Advanced will comprise three separate sections wherein questions will be asked from Physics Chemistry and Mathematics.
