On Fees and Eligibility

Q:   What are the cutoff marks required for B.Tech at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology Mumbai?

A:

There is nothing like the cutoff for private engineering colleges like Giet Gunupur and other similar kinds of colleges throughout the country there are too many seats remaining vacant every year.

If your Jee rank is less than 3 Lakhs then u can easily secure a seat in any of the branches according to your interest through counselling.

But if it is more than 3 Lakhs then it depends upon the demand of the college and the branch.

You can directly contact the college for the seat booking process which is also preferable if u could not do well in the JEE mains. You can take admission in any of the private colleges with this process with or without donation depending upon the availability of the seat. They will insist you make the donation even if there are seats available you just need to keep calm and simply deny and just say in reply you are unable to do so.

Overall, this college is above average in all perspective.
Placements: The average package offered in this college ranges from 6-7 LPA, with the highest package reported being 20 LPA. Internships start from the 2nd semester and are usually paid, although the compensation is not very high. Almost every student secures an internship, provided they perform their tasks diligently. Top recruiters include TCS, Infosys, and Wipro. Students are given ample opportunities to test their skills.
Infrastructure: The college has an excellent library where students can study and complete assignments. The overall infrastructure is great, but there is no ground for sports. The canteen offers a wide variety of food options at affordable prices. As this college is located in Mumbai, hostels are not available. Students typically live in nearby PG accommodations, with assistance from the college and local agents for finding suitable options.
Faculty: The faculty members are highly skilled, supportive, and well-qualified, with many holding PhDs. They provide excellent teaching and guidance. The courses, along with various programs and workshops, effectively prepare students for the industry. Semester exams are challenging, requiring hard work to score well. The passing percentage is approximately 60-70%.
Other: This course has a promising future, especially with the increasing demand for semiconductors by 2030. It offers flexibility, allowing students to pursue coding or core branches. Scholarships are available, and students can apply for them. The college also organizes several extracurricular activities, including hackathons, gaming events, and more. It is well-connected with two metro stations within a 3 km radius and Andheri Railway Station, which is about 20 minutes away.

Good Infrastructure with decent placement.
Placements: At RGIT placement rate is high, especially in Computer Science and IT. The highest salary package offered is 8 LPA-10 LPA, and the average is 3.5 LPA-5 LPA. Leading recruiting companies are Capgemini, TCS, and Zeus Learning. Above 40% attendance is compulsory.
Infrastructure: Labs are good with Wi-Fi connectivity. Classrooms are spacious. Library is also good. Hostel facility is not available, but the college helps to get PGs. The canteen food is average, not so good. Regular sports activities are conducted. There is a seperate room for medical aid. They need to add connectivity, as all computers in some labs do not have connectivity.
Faculty: Teachers are mostly good, well-experienced, knowledgeable, and multitalented in more than one subject. Teaching quality is average, some are good and some are bad. No college in Mumbai can make students industry-ready with such courses and curriculum. Semester exams depend on students, they have more time to study. The pass percentage is more than 80%.
Other: I chose CS, and the best thing about the course is that it teaches us DBMS and NoSQL, explaining why we chose NoSQL over SQL. The course-related things can be improved with more practical infrastructure.

Absolutely No Event College in Mumbai!
Placements: I think students do get placed. There are many companies like TCS, Reliance, L&T, Capgemini, and more. As I am currently new to the college, I don’t have much of an idea about that, but yes, students at RGIT get placements if they have good academics and experience throughout the college.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is there, probably in certain rooms. Classrooms are decent, there is no AC for student classrooms or labs. The library is okay, again no AC. Canteen food is good enough, and there are no special grounds in college for sports and games; they send students to other places for such events.
Faculty: College faculty is definitely good. They have course-relevant knowledge and are always happy to help students, at least the teachers I have come across so far. The curriculum is of Mumbai University, as the college is non-autonomous, and everything is according to the MU. I still feel they don’t teach industry-relevant skills in the first year and waste the time of students on irrelevant subjects.
Other: I wish there were events. As of now, in the last 6 months, there have literally been no events in this college and no club activities. I don’t know why this is so.

The best college for engineering.
Placements: My college provides good placements and has an average package of 4.5 LPA, which is not that bad for a fresher, and the highest package placement was 52 LPA, but it was off campus overall. My college is good at package placements, and many companies come to my college.
Infrastructure: My college is located in a very good area in Andheri West, near a big ocean, and the weather is always good outside. My college campus is very attractive, classrooms are well maintained, and every class room has a smart board, which makes teaching easy.
Faculty: My college takes exams very cleverly and in a disciplined manner. They change classes for every exam so that students do not copy. 1 class has at least 2 supervisors who are very active and strict. If someone is caught cheating in an exam, strict action is taken.

Beyond the classroom: Unraveling essence of Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology.
Placements: 1. 70–80% of the students were placed in batch 2024. Moreover, the students in the computer department had 90% placements. 2. The highest package offered was 12 LPA. The average package offered was 5 to 6 LPA. The lowest package offered was 3 LPA. 3. The top roles offered were Software engineer, Network engineer, data analyst, QA engineer, Product manager, Technical consultant, etc. in many companies like L&T, IBM, Capgemini, HCL Technologies, etc.
Infrastructure: The campus usually provides Wi-Fi connectivity, facilitating access to online resources and research. Availability of well-equipped labs for performing practical experience and conducting experiments. Spatial classrooms with audiovisual aids are there. A well-stocked library with the latest books as well.
Faculty: The professors teaching at the college are all experienced, helpful and highly qualified. Their knowledge is at its best. All courses available in college make students industry-ready by providing practical experience and time-to-time internships. It is easy to pass the exams as concepts are thoroughly explained by teachers and their conceptual explanation makes the topic easy to understand.
Other: The college also focuses more on extra-circular activities. Various sports events, including inter-departmental and inter-college events, are being held, like the Olympia. It has a zodiac fest in the month of March which is one of the best days of college life. Things that must be improved are the class strength and the water supply quality of the college.

Good college, Average placements
Placements: The placements here are not that great. Very few companies visit with average packages. This is not an ideal college if you are looking for really good placements. The students and peers are supportive. Highest package is 12 lpa. Lowest is 2 lpa. Top recruiters were Wissen, Micron.
Infrastructure: Wifi and labs are available. They can be used upon department permission. Classrooms have white boards. There is a library where in we can take 5 books at a time. In hostel the canteen food is not that great. It is just okayish. Improvements can be made. There is gym facility and a badminton court.
Faculty: The curriculum is in par with other colleges having the same course. Theory as well as practicals are involved to equip students with industry relevang skills. The semester exams are of medium level. You can expect mostly direct qns from the syllabus . Pass percentage is somewhere around 70 percent.
Other: i was interested in computer science for a very long time. So it was my dream to learn from a good institute. The first thing to improve is the teachers attention to students. Then hostels and canteen can be improved. There are plenty of events which is a really good thing. There are ample networking opportunities in the campus. Scholarship are provided to students based on need.
