Review of Sacred Heart College.

Placements: As Sacred Heart is the best college in Kerala and its flagship course is B.Com, most of the companies come for the placements of B.Com. But there are placements for other streams too. Corporates like Goldman Sachs, TCS, Infosys and bank chains like HDFC, IDBI, ICICI, Federal Bank, etc., visit the campus for placements. I got an internship from TCS. The highest salary package offered was 3.50 lacs per annum.

Infrastructure: Sacred Heart is a beautiful college situated near a lake. It has great building and infrastructure. Despite that, there are some grey areas like labs and classrooms where the college lacks infrastructure. The library has the best infrastructure ever. Wi-Fi facility was not available in the college.

Faculty: My course was physics, a highly subjective and practical topic which is to be taught in the class. Teachers were highly educated in their respective subjects. New teaching methods like peer to peer were practised, and all the teachers were PhD holders.

Other: Events like Onam, inter-college fest, and national level commerce festival called Tandav are celebrated well.

I'm completely satisfied, and I doubt whether one can get such a college in Kerala.

Placements: Sacred Heart College is one of the top institutions offering good placement opportunities for eligible students. But as science students mainly aim for higher studies, we rarely look for attending placement interviews. So, it won't be so easy for me to make an assessment regarding the placement details.

Infrastructure: SH has an excellent infrastructure. A good and well-structured library was available. Internet connection was also available. Most of the labs were above average and were comfortable for us. We had a good auditorium and many seminar halls.

Faculty: All the teachers in our department were highly qualified. We used their experience and time for our development both subject-wise and in life. The methods used by the teachers were satisfactory. I have an opinion that the present syllabus should be modified.

Other: SH provides a memorable feeling for all.

Really great campus and good placements for commerce students.

Placements: Some banks came for placements, and a few science students and a majority of commerce students got placements. The recent placement drive of Deloitte has been successful. Many MNCs, some regional companies and national level banks have come to SH for placements. A good percentage of students mainly from the commerce department got placed in those companies.

Infrastructure: Classrooms are of good quality, and the library is very huge with enough books for reference and literature too. Sports and games are given great importance. Lake View ground is an open space for all physical activities, and the canteen food is our most affordable and healthy diet option. The college hostel is well and good except for the food.

Faculty: Teachers and other faculty members of SH are just amazing. All of them are highly educated and qualified with most of them having PhD in their concerned subjects. Teaching methods and effectiveness of the teachers vary, but the quality remains on top. We had visits to Mithradham, Aluva to learn more about the instalment and maintenance of solar power panels.

The college provides really good exposure for our overall development.

Placements: Placements for the students of B.Sc. courses are low. But the college provides good placement opportunities for the students of B.Com in companies such as Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, Federal Bank, etc. The college has an effective placement cell, and students from all streams can approach them for good career options.

Infrastructure: The college has a very good library, and all the classrooms for the final year students are smart classes. The labs of biology, especially the research labs are very good. But the facilities provided in chemistry and physics labs are average. For extracurricular activities, there are talent clubs, service clubs, Jesus Youth, three wings of NCC, NSS, etc. The canteen is located near the campus. A foodies corner and a cafeteria are also available on the campus, and the quality of food offered is good. There is a boys' hostel available on the campus, and the girls' hostel is located at a distance of 1 kilometre. I didn't face any issues regarding the infrastructure of the college.

Faculty: The teachers are highly qualified, and they have much subject knowledge. But the teaching methods are really exam oriented. They didn't teach students to love the subject first and then study. The faculty to student ratio is 1:50, and industry exposure is limited. They don't encourage extracurricular activities, and the course curriculum is used in the exam point of view. The teaching methods won't allow us to love the subject.

Other: The college organises fests, cultural activities, extracurricular activities and many others. We can find our area of interest and can work on it with the help of these fests.

SHC is famous for its lovely campus.

Placements: Placement opportunities are provided to all the students of every branch. Many students from the commerce background get placed. The major recruiter from the past few years is McKinsey. The college also provides internship opportunities for students, and other major recruiters are Delloite and Federal Bank.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is very good, and the campus is very beautiful. We have a Wi-Fi enabled campus, and the college has a good library and well-maintained labs. The college also provides sports and recreation facilities for students and staff. The college canteen provides delicious food at affordable prices.

Faculty: There are well-qualified teachers, and teachers are available to clarify our doubts at any time. Students and teachers have a good relationship with each other. More than a teacher, they are good mentors. Industrial visits are organised for students, and we have a well-designed course curriculum.
