A: 

IGNOU is generally preferred by most students as it has various regional centres across the country in top metropolitan cities. Q:   What is the fee for DU SOL MBA?

A: 

The total tuition fee for SOL MBA is INR 20,000. This fee is calculated based on the first-year fee. Hence, the actual amount may vary. Moreover, some other fee components may also be added to the total fee. The application fee for MBA is INR 500 for unreserved/OBC and INR 250 for SC/ST/PwD category candidates. A: 

Yes, MBA is in the new launched courses list of SOL DU. The PG course is of two-year duration and a maximum of four-year. Admission to the course is based on the candidates aggregate in the bachelor’s degree or the last qualifying examination. It is a distance MBA course. The open school has its study centre at North campus and in Moti Bagh. Candidates can reach out to the admission office for more details regarding the course.

Dear Roopesh, Distance MBA has a lot of value in present trend. Working people who cannot make it to regular classes opt this way to always learn new things. Distance mode education as become prominent since decades. There are open universities from the central government providing valid certificates. Distance MBA is always helpful for promotions, knowledge upgradation and it is more flexible mode of learning. Before choosing the college for Distance MBA always do a little study about the affiliations, certified board and etc. To ensure valid certification after the MBA completion.

Q:   Are there placements in DU SOL?

A: 

Yes, the School of Open Learning, DU has a placement cell.  As per the official website, the DU SOL placement cell organised a drive for Business Development Executive (Axis Bank) jointly with NIIT Ltd. Around 800 students registered for the profile and 48 students appeared for the interview. As per the official report, 21 students from the School of Open Learning appeared for the first round of interviews, out of which 15 students were selected. Further, seven students went to the branch for the final interview and finally, four students were selected for the post.

The last date to apply for SOL DU MBA course was Aug 15. As per some sources online, the application end date was extended till Sep 11. Candidates had to apply before the deadline to take admission in this PG course. Moreover, as per the past year admission schedule, SOL MBA 2024 registrations can be expected to commence in the month of July 2024.

Q:   What is the DU SOL MBA admission criteria?

A: 

Admission to the MBA course in SOL is based on merit in the degree course. During the selection, 80% weightage is for graduation marks and 20% weightage of marks for professional work experience. Additionally, 20% for four years of experience, 15% for three years, 10% for two years and so on. Some other categories for admission are:

  • For MBBS/BDS/MD/MDS degree holders or persons having experience in hospital administration with 2 years.
  • For Group A officers of govt. and public undertaking organisations having graduation in any discipline.
  • For those having experience of 2 or more years in corporate houses/hospitality and transportation sector/industry/service sector/ self-employed professionals.
