B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering - Batch of 2016

The college was good at providing knowledge, but placement opportunities were less.
Placements: Regarding placements, the college has a well-established placement cell which also conducts mock interviews for 3rd and 4th-year students. Only some of the eminent companies like TCS and Genpact used to visit for placements. During the placement season of our batch, TCS is the mass recruiter, and it recruited almost 211 students from our college. Only 30 students were placed from our senior batch.
Infrastructure: The college has a state-of-the-art auditorium with a seating capacity of nearly 1,000 students at a time. Well-maintained lecture halls and digital seminars halls were available. All the labs were well-equipped with instruments and apparatus that were in proper working condition. Hostel rooms were spacious and neat to stay, but the food served was not that good. Sports facilities like separate rooms for gym, badminton, table tennis, and squash were also available.
Faculty: The college has a well-defined curriculum structure as per the norms of AKTU. Along with that, you have to maintain a minimum of 75% attendance per semester. If you fail to maintain that, it affects your internal scores. Some of the faculty members have great teaching methodologies and with excellent knowledge in their fields.
Other: Our college organises events like a cultural fest, technical fest and sports fest every year. You can enjoy your college life during fests.

The college is good at providing knowledge, but the placement opportunities were less.
Placements: The college has a well-established placement cell which also conducts mock interviews. Companies like TCS and Genpact used to visit our college for placement drives. Some of the non-tech companies also visited our college for management students. TCS conducted mass recruitment for our batch. Nearly 211 students got placed. Only 30 students were placed from our senior batch. The average salary package offered was 3.25 LPA to 3.50 LPA.
Infrastructure: I would rate the infrastructure 4.5 out of 5. It has well-established classrooms, digital seminars halls and well-maintained labs with equipment in proper working condition. The college has a state-of-the-art auditorium with a seating capacity of almost 1,000 students. The college has great sports facilities like badminton court, squash court, table tennis and gymnasium. Hostel rooms were good and spacious, but sometimes, food was not up to the expectation.
Faculty: The college follows a well-defined course curriculum as defined by the state university AKTU. If you fail to maintain 75% of attendance in each semester, that affects your internals. The faculty members give more importance to the information provided in books rather than actual real-time implementation. The college has a few great faculty members with great teaching experience and methodology.
Other: Our college organises an annual cultural fest, technical fest and sports fest. During fests, you can actually enjoy the college life.

A good college for study, but not the best for placements.
Placements: Placements are not good for mechanical and electrical engineering students, but computer science and information technology branches have good placements. TCS is the main recruiter in our college. I was not a full-time student of this college. I left the course half-way.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good, but not advanced. All facilities like Wi-Fi, labs, good classrooms, dispensary, two-storeyed library, a big sports ground, and a huge auditorium are there in our college. The canteen and the food provided in it disappointed me. Hostels are not good, but they are worth regarding the fees.
Faculty: As this is not a deemed university, the course set by UGC or GBTU is followed in this college. The faculty are very helpful and experienced. Some of them worked in very good companies in the past. They give you notes, assignments, and tutorial classes. The college itself provides assignments and tutorial books.
Other: The campus is located in a village Bhojipura. It is far away from the city. The crowd mostly consists of North Indian students of UP and Bihar. The annual fest named Zest and other technical fests are celebrated in our college. You can't leave the college before the closing time, and mobile phones are strictly prohibited, even old Nokia phone is also prohibited in the hostels, which disappointed me.

A good place to build your ward's future and life.
Placements: Very few companies visited our college. TCS was the major one used to recruit 5-10 students each year. The companies like Syntel, HCL also visited. The average salary package was around 3.5 lakhs per annum. Software analyst was the post in TCS. I do not know about the internship much.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi facility was available in the hostel area for students, but on the college campus, students were not authorized to use Wi-Fi. The labs were well equipped with all the necessary instruments. Students can avail the free medical facility. A membership was given to take free medical facility from the hospital. Classrooms are well maintained and properly dusted each day. I used to live in the hostel for 4 years, food was a plus mark, 4 times meal was provided with sweet dishes on Fridays and Sundays, milk and fruits were provided daily. Hostel rooms were spacious and I got 3 seater room in the first year which was fully furnished. As I feel the infrastrcture was a plus point because there was enough green space before college and hostel to walk after college hours.
Faculty: The faculty were well qualified and experienced, almost all the faculty in my class were M.tech post-graduates, few also hold PhD degrees. The faculty helped students a lot understand the basic of every concept. They attended classes regularly and used to give homework to indulge students on weekends. There were class tests after every 14 days to find out the weakness in students. PPT's and online teaching videos were included to teach some topics so that student get a grip on those. For 40-45 students, one teacher was provided for each subject. Group discussion classes and mock interviews were organized which help a lot to face current industry situations.
Other: The cultural fest -Zest was organised for 3 consecutive days on a large scale. All the colleges of Bareilly were invited to participate in the various events. Prizes were given from the college fund. The scholarship was given to the merit students. I too got Rs. 20,000 in the first year as scholarship.

The college is very good for education.
Placements: My senior batch's placement was very good. The percentage of placement was 93%. The highest, lowest and average salary package was 6.4 lpa, 2.8 lpa, and 4 lpa respectively. The companies that visited the campus were TCS, Balarka, Sartination, Vishal Mega Mart, Pompiee, etc. The roles that were offered to the students were an assistant engineer, assistant software engineer, assistant manager, etc.
Infrastructure: There are very good facilities from sports to modern labs. There's a large library with more the 4 lakh books. It has a reference section. The college has its own medical college name with the name of SRMS Institute of Medical Science. The students were provided free medical services worth rupees 25000 and free fooding and lodging. Only vegetarian food is allowed on the whole campus. There are four hostels with single/ double/ triple seater rooms.
Faculty: There is a very good faculty. The faculty members are well qualified and excellent in knowledge. PPT and board both methods are used to teach. There are 4000 students and more than 400 faculty members including lab assistants. The student to faculty ratio is 10:1. We have industrial visit every year.
