Satisfied with the course and the college. Very well designed course makes you industry ready.
Placements: Almost 80% of the students were placed in the placement year 2024. The highest package offers in my course was 16.5 LPA, the lowest was around 3 LPA, and the average package was 5.5 to 6 LPA. The top recruiting companies were Halliburton, Reliance Industries, Shell Business Operations, S&P Global, EY, Karan Group, Sterling Oil and Gas. 100% of the students were offered internship opportunities in government and private sector companies. First, the students were offered with the private sector companies which were recruiting interns, and the ones who didn’t get the chance were also provided internships with the help of career development cell at PDEU. Top roles offered were Reservoir Engineer, Production Engineer, Wireline and Logging Executive, Business Analyst, Senior Analyst, etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure are top class for the petroleum engineering background. There are different labs like drilling and cementing lab, drilling fluid labs, Chemistry labs, computer and software labs, etc. Wi-Fi facility is 24/7, and the classrooms are too good, full AC classrooms with good quality boards and projectors. Library has almost all common books for every discipline. Total 3 libraries among all the disciplines. Hostel facility is very good having full AC rooms and good living space, sport facility and good mess. Quality of the food sometimes disappoints but still acceptable. Medical facilities are there, but not much aware of.
Faculty: Teacher at PDEU are very helpful and humble in nature. They are qualified for what they are teaching and helps in studies, research, and other curricular activities. In petroleum engineering, the course curriculum was very well designed according to the industry standards. Being here in the industry, I can definitely say that it was very good designed. Semester exams are not so difficult, but sometimes it depends on the professor too. In most cases, its difficulty is very moderate, so not so hard or easy too.
Other: The course was of my interest since SSC and I was pretty sure to pursue my career in the industry. Nothing to say much as the course design was so good that it does not feel difficult to adopt when placed in industry. It’s very well designed. There are multiple student chapters and clubs that are run by the students; they organise multiple events, activities and all. Also, the college provides scholarships to top 5 or 7 students of the batch. Not much aware about this but it’s there for sure.

Some facts about Pandit Deendayal Energy University!
Placements: The college claims a placement rate of 90%. The highest placement in the Electrical Engineering branch was 9.16 LPA CTC, and the average was 6.25 LPA CTC. 1) Shell 2) Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India 3) Jubilant Ingrevia 4) Reliance Industries 5) MG Motors 6) Aditya Birla Group 7) Alstom 8) Tata Power 9) Tata AutoComp 10) Yokogawa 11) Torrent Power 12) L&T Ltd 13) iSun 14) Transformers & Rectifiers (India) This is claimed by PDEU, and it is what it is.
Infrastructure: The campus is clean, green, and well-maintained. Some faculty members are cooperative, while others are least bothered about you and can make you suffer at times; but it all depends upon your behavior. Spoon-feeding is also done, like in schools and other colleges. If you want exposure, the college will provide it, but you have to run after it. Mess food may seem fascinating for a couple of weeks, but it will turn out to be the same as other colleges. However, a good thing is that the mess staff members are very cooperative and will provide you with your birthday cake and extra stuff for free. Food is unlimited, including non-veg items from chicken curry to egg dishes.
Faculty: Curriculum is the same as IITs and NITs. You become only theoretically aware of your field unless you take the initiative to explore practical exposure. Faculty have knowledge and experience, but some of them lag at the moment of delivering their knowledge to students.

Faculty satisfaction, Great social environment and mediocre placements.
Placements: The placement offered at PDEU are mainly concentrate in the energy sector, it includes companies like Reliance industries, Tata group, ONGC, Adani power etc. The placements are average at best the average CTC for 2023 was 7.5LPA for the entire university whereas the branch specific average for chemical was 6.5LPA which is mediocre at best.
Infrastructure: The hostel infrastructure is far better than other government or private institutions. The hostels have Air conditioning and personal washrooms. The drawback is that these hostels are not available for Ahmedabad students. The classrooms and libraries are also air conditioned which provides a great environment for learning.
Faculty: The faculty of PDEU lacks teaching passion and charisma as a whole. Even though there are good teachers in the university they are assigned to higher semester students which degrades the learning experience of new students. The exams conducted are relatively easy but they are still relevant.
