    Positive Aspects:

    * Good Placement Record: Over 85% of students got placed in reputed companies like Zoho, Deloitte, TCS, and Amazon, with average packages ranging from 3-7 LPA.
    * Internship Opportunities: Many students secured internships with companies like Zoho, Q Spyde, etc.
    * Well-Qualified Faculty: Most professors are experienced and knowledgeable in their fields.
    * Industry-Relevant Curriculum: The course curriculum is relevant and prepares students for the industry.
    * Good Infrastructure: The college has well-equipped laboratories, libraries, and recreational spaces.

    Negative Aspects:

    * Average Facilities: Some students felt that the hostel facilities, food, and canteen could be improved.

However, prospective students should weigh the pros and cons before making a decision.

Q:   Question: How is the course curriculum for B.E. / B.Tech at Sri Muthukumaran Institute of Technology?

    A:
    {Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

    Course Curriculum

    * The course curriculum follows the 2008 regulation of Anna University (Source: Review 1)
    * Faculty members are knowledgeable and experienced, making students industry-ready (Review 7, Review 14)
    * The course curriculum covers various topics, including computer programming languages such as C+, Java, Python, etc. (Review 12)
    * Students learn computer programming from scratch, which helps them prepare for placement in IT companies (Review 12)

Note: Since multiple reviews mentioned positive feedback about the faculty members' qualifications and teaching style, it's evident that the course curriculum is well-designed and effective in preparing students for the industry.

However, one reviewer pointed out that the course curriculum may not fully equip students for the industry due to lack of certain equipment (Review 20). Another reviewer noted that the pass percentage was relatively low (10%) in their semester exams (Review 16).

Overall, the course curriculum seems to focus on providing students with strong foundations in computer programming and related concepts, although there might be room for improvement in terms of practical experience and exposure to real-world applications.

Really good faculty, but absolutely dissatisfied about college campuses and internships.
Placements: 50% of students were placed in our course. INR 15k–50k per month is the average package, but it can increase depending on your skills. Major hospitals recruit for these courses. 30% of students get through an internship in a hospital. Biomedical engineers in hospitals and hospital managers in biomedical services are the top roles offered.
Infrastructure: Facilities are all below average. I do not prefer college hostels or food. It is not worth the money; hostel foods are not of good quality, and hostel students don't eat the food because it gives them food poisoning. The hostels are not in good condition; they don't even have washing machines or theaters.
Faculty: All faculty are good and knowledgeable. Since the curriculum does not have all the equipment for training, it does not make the students ready for industry. Exams have some kind of difficulty, and 50% is the pass percentage. The average student does not pass the semester exam.
Other: I like the medical course, so I chose this course. This course is most relevant to hospital devices. It is better to cover more interesting subjects. No events happen here; campus surroundings are good; SC caste and other scholarships are available for counseling students; no extracurricular activities.

I would not recommend students to taken admission in this college.
Placements: Almost 70% of students got placed in this course. The highest salary offered was Rs 17,000 per month. The average salary offered was Rs 15,000 per month. The lowest salary offered was Rs 10,000 per month. Top recruiting company is Sutherlands. Internships are not offered at this college. Around 5% of students got internships in our course. Nobody is interested in getting placed in BPO companies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is average. This college needs renovation. Laboratories and network connections are available. There is no library in our department. I am a day scholar so I do not know about hostel facilities. But I have heard from friends that the hostel is better. The food served in the mess is not good. Canteen is not good. Overall, the facilities are average.
Faculty: Faculty members are well-qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is better. This college is affiliated with Anna University. The course curriculum is relevant but does not make students ready for the industry. Semester exams are difficult. The pass percentage is 10%.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest to become a software engineer. The best thing about this course is that we can work in MNCs with decent salary packages. We can also get a chance to work abroad. Our college should provide in-depth knowledge. Previously, there were no such celebrations or fests in this college. But now events are conducted such as Sympos and farewell parties. Extracurricular activities are average.

Overall experience about my college Actually, it is good if you want pursue engineering .
Placements: 85 percent of the people got placed in last year and many people got really placed in good company. The average package students got placed is 3-7 LPA. Many companies like Zoho, Deloitte, TCS and Amazon reached our college. The college also provide internship for many students .
Infrastructure: The hostel is quite good for the price. They provide Wi-Fi, gym and even AC rooms. The food in the hostel is really reasonable. The classroom and libraries are really requisite and we'll maintain them. They have plenty of books in library to refer to, and we can read book.
Faculty: The quality of teaching is understandable and makes us feel at ease. Each and every staff member guides us and helps us secure good grades. There will be a wide educational clubs for students. The semester will be a little tough and average pass mark is to score 50%.
Other: There will be an enormous amount of events conducted.

You can join this college if you want to be free, but don't join if you want to study.
Placements: In our college, only 5% of students are placed. Top recruiting companies like Sutherland, etc., visit our campus. Internships are not available. The top role offered is a software engineer.
Infrastructure: Labs are well equipped. Wi-Fi is available. The quality of the food in the canteen is good. There is a hospital within walking distance. A playground is available. Sports and games are good.
Faculty: Our teachers are friendly, but most of them are not qualified enough. The course makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are difficult. The pass percentage is very low.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest in computer science. They can hire better staff members. Our college does not celebrate fests.

I am not satisfied with this college because of its teachers.
Placements: More than 75% of students got placed in our course. The highest salary package offered is 3.5 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 2.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Sutherland, Zoho, etc. Almost 85% of students got internships in Zoho, Q Spyde, etc. The top role offered is the project developer.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good. Our college provides us with all facilities. The hostel facilities are good. The food served in the hostel is good. The warden is not good. We complained about it many times, but they didn't take any responsible action.
Faculty: Our teachers are good and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is good. Semester exams are difficult. The pass percentage is 85%. The course curriculum is not good. Exams are not conducted well because the pass percentage is low.
Other: I opted for this course to gain knowledge.

Satisfied with the college because of good teaching, placements, sports, and facilities.
Placements: The course I chose was computer science engineering. In this course, you will learn computer programming like C+, Java, Python, etc., from scratch, which is really helpful for you to get placed in IT companies. The percentage of students placed in my course is nearly 80%. The average package offered in my course is around 21,000. The top recruiting companies for computer science engineering are TCS, HCL Technologies, Tech Mahindra etc. Around 60% of students got internships in TCS. The top roles offered in my course are software developer, web developer, information security analyst etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available in my course are really good. There are computer science labs with Wi-Fi, a library with good books, and classrooms that look quite good. The hostel facilities are satisfactory, but it really varies by person. There is good and quality food available in the canteen. Medical facilities are good enough. You will have a big playground for playing sports and games.
Faculty: The teaching quality is overall good. But the main thing is you will need to concentrate while learning. The teachers are helpful. If you have any doubts, you can just ask them, and they will help you. The course curriculum is much relevant and makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are moderate. If you learn the subjects from scratch daily with a good understanding, then you can score really well. The pass percentage is 35%.
Other: After my school life, I was very confused in choosing the course. I want to take a different path from others, but I chose this course because I have been interested in learning something about computers since my childhood. It is a valuable course in the current generation. The best thing about the course is that there are plenty of interesting job openings. The course is good, so I think there is nothing to improve. Events and extracurricular activities are held in college.
