Thumbs Up IconUpvote Thumbs Down Icon

Q:   What are the cutoff marks for SSN School of Management?

A:

You can get into SSN in three (main) ways-the regular Anna University counseling, management quota and sports quota. There are also other scholarships that SSN offers like rural scholarships, walk in walk out scholarships etc. which don't fall under the aforementioned categories.

  1. Anna University counseling : this is predominantly for students who have studied in Tamil Nadu state board as the cut off is very high for CBSE or ISC board students. The cut off is around 195–197/200 (maybe higher). It is calculated by: (math mark on hundred) + (average of physics and chemistry marks on hundred).
  2. Management Quota: A few students can get in through this. This is predominantly for CBSE or ISC students. The students are given a +5 to their mark on 200 (calculated in the same process as mentioned previously). The cutoff is 195 (with the plus five) or around 190 (without plus five). It can be higher. This is the cutoff for the first round of counseling. The third and fourth rounds can sometimes go as low as 185/200 but the chances of one getting their preferred group on such rounds are slim. In addition to the cutoff, students will be required to take an aptitude test and attend an interview (with additional interviews for their extra curricular activities or sports achievements) where they can produce certificates they have won in the past.
  3. Sports Quota : This is the earliest mode of admission and requires candidates to go for selections in the end of May or early June. Candidates also require a decent academic cut off around 180/200.

Very good college for doing MBA.
Placements: Deloitte, Zoho, HCL, TCS, Federal Bank, IndusInd Bank, Axis Bank, ITC, Sundaram Finance, Nestle, Bosch, IDFC Bank, Photon, Range Scape, Prestige, Flipkart, City Union Bank, Argus, Range, CAMS, etc. are the recruiting companies. Aptitude and personal interviews are part of the placement process. About 90% of students get placed every year. We receive training in communication, soft skills, group discussions, and aptitude. Business newspapers are provided daily for all MBA students to stay updated on current affairs.

Absolutely satisfied because of placements and good infrastructure.
Placements: I currently live in Germany. I can give you a clear understanding of the placement process and how to crack interviews. The placement process starts with an internship. In first year, you can do internship or prefer online internship so you can focus on studies. Maintain CGPA of more than 6.5 to be eligible for most companies. The second-year placement process starts before that. Preparing aptitude tests is also helpful, but try to be faster and use YouTube. As placement starts, aim for big companies and good roles at Microsoft, HCL, Federal Bank, etc., like data analysts and business development executives, which have good scope in the future.
Infrastructure: The college was founded by HCL founder Shiv Nadar, who is visionary and good person who tried to give quality education. The college infrastructure and facilities are both good; the building is white. We have library, auditorium, study room, conference hall, lab, etc. College have Wi-Fi but only for browsing; downloading movies is strictly prohibited. The hostel is 700 meters from the college and has a good walking area, a gym, and a garden in its surroundings. Hostel mess is good not very high quality. No, we do not get any medical benefits or facilities in college.
Faculty: Teachers are really supportive; they are going through this situation. Teachers tried to prepare us for the future in placement and interviews; they really helped us. Conduct department-level events like alumni meetings on placement subjects. Our college is very reputed; it is an autonomous exam and the curriculum is decided by ourselves. Not very difficult; anyone with a clear understanding can easily clear an exam; just have good English.
Other: SSN is a big brand. Before admission, I contacted my relatives about college, and many of them suggested SSN. SSN college students are mostly from Tamil Nadu, mostly from Madurai.

The college has good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: About 80 percent of students got placed here from our course. The highest package is 10 Lacs per year, the lowest package is 4 Lacs per year, and the average package is 6 Lacs per year. Top recruiting companies like Infosys and Accenture visit here. Students even got internships from top companies, including Google. Top roles offered are business consultant, finance manager, and business manager.
Infrastructure: The facilities of our college are good. The infrastructure is wide and provides us with good classrooms with Wi-Fi facilities. The classrooms are maintained neat and hygienic. The library has a good collection of books. The quality of facilities in our hostel is good compared to others; they provide food. The canteen is good, and they provide medical facilities whenever needed. They also support us in sports and games to improve our physical fitness.
Faculty: The teachers are very nice as they are qualified and help us to clear our subjects. They are knowledgeable and helpful as they clear our doubts. The teaching quality is also good. The course curriculum is relevant and makes students industry-ready. The semester exams are a bit difficult, but if you study, you can score good marks. About 78 percent of students passed.

Review of SSN School of Management.
Placements: From the third semester on, companies will come for campus placement. A total of 25 companies visit our campus and we have a total intake of 120 students, of whom 98 get placement. The average salary is 4 lacs, and the highest salary is 8 lacs. The top recruiters are Deloitte and HCL Tech. The college provides internships in areas like finance, marketing, HR, sales companies, etc., namely Arora Digital Solutions, Times of India, and Charu Home.
Infrastructure: The fest called Daksha, is conducted in college every year in September–October. You can get all the books related to MBA and other areas too. Moreover, there are more than 50,000 books in the library. The amenities in the classroom are a projector, a furnished bench and an AC in construction. Indoor and outdoor sports such as chess, carrom, basketball, badminton and cricket have a cricket ground that looks like Chepauk Stadium. The hostel is not good, not bad. There are two types of rooms: one with AC and an attached bathroom and the other with non-AC and common toilets. The hostel is compulsory, and the meal is not bad. The registration process is simple, but the fee is 90,000 per year.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, highly qualified (M.Tech. or Ph.D.), and knowledgeable. Our institute is autonomously affiliated with Anna University. The course structure is as follows: 1st year is common management subjects, same for all and second year subjects are according to specialization; mine was human resources. The syllabus is vast, making it industry-ready. The semester exam is strictly conducted; the exam feels separate, not in college. The passing percentage of the 2022 batch is 92 percent .

We offer training in communication, soft skills, group discussions, and aptitude to prepare students for the recruitment process. Additionally, all MBA students receive daily business newspapers to stay updated on current affairs.
Infrastructure: All postgraduate students are required to reside in the hostel facilities provided by the institution.
