B.E. in Civil Engineering - Batch of 2017

It's better than most of the colleges in Bangalore.
Placements: There weren't any placements for the civil engineering batch. There weren't any core companies that conducted placement drives. It was hard to go out and try for placements, for civil engineers. We didn't have any placement training, which could have helped us to get a job outside the campus.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good. Medical facilities are available. Sports are not much encouraged. The campus has a huge field where you can practice football, cricket, basketball and badminton. I guess the college might be encouraging sports now. The hostel was very strict in regards to timing which was bad.
Faculty: It should have been improved much. Since ours was the second batch in the civil course, it was difficult. As there were no good and experienced lecturers, we had to face difficulties to understand the topic. During our time, faculty members worked hard to teach us.
Other: Very few events are conducted in the college because of the college management.

Absolutely satisfied because of faculty, good placements and infrastructure.
Placements: Our college shows more attention to the students' future. The college conducts aptitude class internally so that, students perfectly get ready for the interviews and also the college conducts server computation which is useful for placements. TCS, Infosys, Birla Group, and sever IT companies had taken a good number of students student from our college. They promised that they would keep recruiting students from our college.
Infrastructure: It is the coolest college in Mangalore, i.e. this the place where you can see the greenery, and also you can feel the nature. The most important thing is that our college conducts sports events, cultural activities, indoor games etc. Our college provides Wi-Fi facilities with the speed of 80 MB/s. Our college has neat labs, and 80 students can sit at a time in the classrooms.
Faculty: When we come to the faculty, our college has well-qualified and experienced faculty members. Our teachers give their 100% effort to teach us, and they provide all the facilities to improve our IQ levels by giving some extracurricular activities which are most useful in our life. Our college has server club activities, and the club members will be taken for internships in some of the industries.

A review of St. Joseph Engineering College.
Placements: According to my knowledge, civil has decent but few placements compared to other branches here. One of the placement company hails from Qatar. Electronics and communication branch has most of the placements. Most of the companies mass recruit EC students.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure wise, it is a remarkable attempt from SJEC. Wi-Fi gives 250 Mbps speed throughout the campus but only allowed to use in the college. The 2nd year hostel students get Wi-Fi facility. The library is well-equipped with digital books and journals, and also with a good collection of physical books. The classrooms are well-maintained, which is a must. SJEC equally provides opportunities for sports via sports day and competitions.
Faculty: The teachers are well-qualified and very interactive. They try their best to deliver the concept which they are meant to teach. Most of the lecturers are friendly and create a pleasant environment to study. There is nothing like a shortage of faculty in SJEC. SJEC has a separate building in Valencia for industrial training.
Other: Fests in this college are boring. They organise a fest named Milan which is an ethnic day. In even semester, they conduct a technical fest named Tiara and college day.

Other: College is very strict about its principles and always violates student privacy. No chance of independent thinking and is highly unsupportive towards extracurricular activities. It’s like a primary school. Faculty is good and they try to improve the level of teaching. Placement is very low in the campus.

Faculty is really nice. Placements are not very good this year.
Placements: The placements for civil have been pretty bad. But I've heard it's the same forost colleges. So I don't know if it's right to place blame on the college. Some IT companies however do accept civil students. The highest salary offered has probably been 3.5 Lacs per annum.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is really beautiful. There's Greenery everywhere. It's really well maintained too. College looks brilliant during any celebration. The labs are really clean. The food in the canteen is not very tasty but is hygienic. The hostel rooms are good. I've never faced any problems because of the infrastructure.
Faculty: Civil faculty is really nice. They're very helpful and always try to help the students as much as possible. Lecturers have started using powerpoints so that they can show pictures which are helpful. Sometimes they show videos too. We have had a few site visits which helped a lot.
Other: Every kind of event is held from quizzes to sudoku to mehendi. Fests are conducted well.
