On Fees and Eligibility

Q:   Is Swami Shraddhanand College good for B.Sc.?

A:
{Source: B.Sc. students & alumni}

Based on the provided information, I'd say that Swami Shraddhanand College is a good option for B.Sc., particularly for students interested in Physical Sciences like Chemistry. Here's a breakdown:

Pros:

* Good infrastructure overall, with well-maintained libraries and labs.
* Excellent faculty with Ph.D. qualifications, known for their professionalism, extra classes, and encouragement towards research practices.
* Emphasis on practical learning, with opportunities for projects and research.
* Opportunities for extracurricular activities, sports, and festivals.
* Limited placements may exist due to the university's efforts, although these might not be directly related to your course.

Cons:

* Limited hostel facilities, with students having to opt for private PG accommodations nearby.
* Average placement record, with fewer students getting placed compared to others.
* No direct industry connections for placements.
* While the college has made efforts to organize placement drives and internship programs, these seem limited.
* Infrastructure improvements could be considered, as the college's buildings and classrooms may need renovation.

Overall, while Swami Shraddhanand College doesn't excel in placements, it seems to offer a solid education in Physical Sciences, with engaging faculty and adequate infrastructure. Prospective students should weigh their options carefully, considering factors like personal interests, academic goals, and potential career paths.

Keep in mind that individual experiences may vary, so it's always a good idea to gather more information from current students, faculty members, or recent graduates to get a clearer picture of the college's strengths and weaknesses.

Q:   Is Swami Shraddhanand College good for B.A.?

A:
{Source: B.A. students & alumni}

Based on the feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of the key points:

Infrastructure: The college has an old and new building, with the new building being well-maintained and equipped with modern facilities. However, the old building requires improvement in terms of maintenance and infrastructure.

Teaching Quality: The teachers are generally helpful, knowledgeable, and supportive. They provide guidance and assistance to students throughout the semester.

Course Curriculum: The course curriculum is updated, and the course provides a good balance of theoretical and practical knowledge.

Exams: Semester exams are not extremely difficult, and students who attend classes regularly tend to perform well.

Placements: Unfortunately, placements are not a strong suit for B.A. students. Only a few students get placements, and mostly, students opt for master's degrees or prepare for civil services.

Internships: While internships are not readily available for B.A. students, some students have reported searching for internships on their own and receiving approval from the college.

Campus Life: The college has a decent infrastructure, including a library, Science labs, and a playground. However, the canteen could be improved.

Overall: Despite some areas for improvement, Swami Shraddhanand College appears to be a decent option for those interested in pursuing a B.A. degree. With diligent effort and regular class attendance, students can expect to perform well academically.

Genuinely a value-for-money college with decent infrastructure.
Placements: The placement depends on the course. But the minimum package of 5-10 can be fetched. It is said that the college does not provide placement, but it has its own placement cell, and packages can be taken from this college also. It only depends on the student and their course.
Infrastructure: The college doesn't have its own hostel, but a number of PGs are available for both boys and girls that are affordable and have good facilities. Separate hostels and PGs can also be found, which are a maximum of 200 meters from the college, and they are affordable also.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified and helpful. The curriculum is moderate, and papers can be cleared easily if one attends all the classes and focuses on what is taught in the class. Talking about the exam pattern, we have 2 exams: one is mid-sem, and the other is end-sem. 75% attendance is compulsory to appear for the end-sem exam.

It is a good college, and I will rate it 4 out of 5. Everything is on point except placements.
Placements: If I talk about SSNC, there is no placement cell till now. There are no placements in the college for any course. If students join this college with the thinking to get placements, then I don't recommend it. All Delhi University Colleges are not the same.
Infrastructure: At SSNC, there are two buildings. One building is new, and the other building is old as per the courses. If students are pursuing B.Com and B.A, they are accommodated in the old building. The infrastructure of the old building is very poor. If students are pursuing other courses, they are accommodated in the new building. The infrastructure of the new building is good compared to the old building. I give 3 stars because of the new building.
Faculty: At SSNC, teachers are good, very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The quality of the teaching is good. Semester exams are not hard but around 2-3 teachers make them hard. Otherwise, the level of paper is easy to moderate. The pass percentage is around 85-90%, which is good.
Other: I chose this course because of my future goals. The best thing about B.Com (Hons) is that students get knowledge about the corporate world and can know how it works in businesses and industries. Our course should include more practical than theoretical. Events, fests, the campus crowd, and everything are very good. It all depends on our friends. There are many extracurricular activities like different types of competitions, drawing, debates, games, etc.

College full of dissatisfaction in terms of campus.
Placements: There is no placement programme held by the college for students. Swami Shraddhanand College does not offer any placements to students. There are no companies that come to college for placement or job requirements. This is the area where this college lacks.
Infrastructure: Classrooms at Swami Shraddhanand College do not have any technological equipment like projectors, etc. for smart classes. There are no such hostel facilities provided by the college. The area of the college is not an environment where students can live in PGs and the college does not provide its own hostels.
Faculty: The faculty offered by Swami Shraddhanad College is good. The faculty is very well known and has good conceptual knowledge about their subjects. B.Com. Prog. is a very good course to opt for further studies after 12th; it gives a very good base in the field of commerce.
Other: I want to pursue my career in the field of commerce and B.Com. is the best starting point and base for further development. In Swami Shraddhanad College, there is an annual cultural fest called Oculas and Shraddha Tarang to be held in the month of March, where various events take place.

All about Swami Shraddhanand College (Delhi University).
Placements: I don't think this college provides students with placements. You have to search for it by yourself. It doesn't offer any kind of help in placements, as far as I know about my college. But they will provide you with some internships if you want to do one. It'll be beneficial.
Infrastructure: College infrastructure is not so good, in my opinion. They should work on classrooms. Actually, the whole college campus is not that good in my opinion. Even the college canteen of the old campus should be maintained properly; it has no proper seating area as well.
Faculty: I would say that teachers are well-educated, well-qualified, and really supportive. They are helpful if you attend the classes on a regular basis. I have met so many teachers in this college and would say that they are very friendly, even if they don't teach you your subject.

Dissatisfied because of the infrastructure, bad placement, but good teaching faculty.
Placements: There is no active placement cell in the college. My seniors also told me about the poor placement situation. Some teachers are helpful and guide students to get jobs after graduation, but there are hardly any campus placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite bad. There isn't even a proper building. Our classes are held in blocks, which are just rooms with tin roofs that get very heated in the summer. Drinking water facilities are also poor; the water purifier is unreliable. The college canteen is good and provides food at a fair price. Sports and games facilities are good, and there are many sportspersons among the college alumni, like Harshit Rana in the Indian cricket team.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and qualified. My experience with them has been very good so far, as all the teachers are humble. However, the curriculum provided by the college is not good and lacks key components, leaving us unprepared for the industry. The semester exams are moderately tough, and the pass percentage is 33 percent.
Other: I chose the course because I am interested in economics. The best thing about my course is that the material is useful for many postgraduate courses. The college societies are pretty good, the crowd is good too, and the events organized by the societies are enjoyable.

Dissatisfied with the infrastructure, no placement cell, faculty is good
Placements: There were very few students who were placed as there were less companies who came for campus placement. Average package was like around 3 lakh per annum. Roles offered were lower level management for the commerce students, the percentage would be 10%
Infrastructure: No wifi, labs have expired chemicals, classrooms are small and have poor infrastructure, old furniture, no ventilation, the canteen is the worst no hygiene. the washrooms are not maintained properly the admin block has a poor infrastructure as well as i have seen.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified and knowledgeable, the teaching quality is also good, extra curriculum activities are not that much but sre good and relevant, the semester exam are moderately difficult, pass percentage is 37 %. The college is not industry ready.
Other: I took bcom because my family is from commerce background and so i took commerce stream in 11th grade, teachers are good in our course. Events and fest are nice as the commania society do a wonderful job.
