Course Curriculum at THDC Institute of Hydropower Engineering and Technology (THDC-IHET)

* Not Updated Regularly: The course curriculum at THDC-IHET is not updated regularly, making it less relevant to the industry.
* UTTARAKHAND TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY CURRICULUM: The course curriculum follows the UTU curriculum, which might not be entirely up-to-date with new technologies.

I am dissatisfied due to faculty.
Placements: There are only 10 students in our class (batch 2019-2023). From the pass-out batch i.e, 2017-2021 only 2 students got placed at Tata consultancy service. They were only 10 to 12 students in that batch. There offer no roles.
Infrastructure: Since the strength of students is very low we have better facilities like a smart screen, chairs, and tables in the classrooms. Wi-Fi is also available for students. The gym is also available but accessories are less. Hostel is average.
Faculty: Few teachers are helpful and knowledgeable while some of them use PPTs to complete units. Course curriculum doesn't make sense most of the time concerning industry-ready. Exams are easy.
Other: There are no events and fests since I have been here because of the covid so there are no chances. Scholarships are provided. The campus crowd is very less.

Our college is one the best colleges in the state.
Placements: Earlier, placements in the college were not that good. But if we talk about now, our administration, faculty members and T&P department are working hard on that part. The result will soon be visible. I believe that I will be having a good job from the campus placements before completing my graduation.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our institute is one of the best infrastructures in the state if we talk about institutes. We have all the facilities in our campus. In spite of being in a hilly area, we have been provided with the best infrastructure. I am satisfied with the infrastructure we have.
Faculty: Faculty members of our institute are the best part of college. They are very helpful and cooperative, and they are always available for us. They like to teach us the best way we can understand. About the course curriculum, it will be good for everyone if the university updates the course curriculum a bit.
Other: Regular events are organised to give students opportunities and exposure to other activities.

A college at an amazing location.
Placements: The placements for our batch was good. Same goes for our senior batch. Approximately 60 percent students got placed from the college. The highest package being offered was of 6 lacs whereas the minimum salary offered was 3 lacs. The average salary was around 4.5 lacs. Companies that visited the campus were Accenture, Wipro, TCS and others. There were mixed roles being offered to the students as per their specialisation. 70 percent of the students got internship from the college as it has good corporate network. The highest stipend was 30 thousand and the lowest was of 10 thousand. The average stipend lies between 15-20 thousand. The placement cell is like the backbone of our college and they work very hard for the students.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is very good. The labs are very huge and fully Wi-Fi. Even the classrooms are very neat and clean. Their are sports facilities as well. The quality of teaching in the classrooms is up to the mark. They use audio video visuals to make the students understand much easier and faster. The canteen is also very neat and spacious. They serve variety of foods and with reasonable rates. The hostel rooms are clean and very good. The hostel follows strict regulations. I did not face any sort of issue during my tenure at the college.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful as well as qualified. They teach in a very simple manner so that everyone can understand. They use smartboards to write. There were 6 teachers alotted to every classroom. We got industry exposure as well during our curriculum when they took us to a manufacturing plant in the nearby place. We learnt a lot there.

A Fair Review of THDC IHET.
Placements: There is no so much placement in our time. Only one company was there for the placement. But that was the time when the college was just established. But now there are many companies like COLOURD COW joining hand with college to provide college students training and placement.
Infrastructure: The campus is quite good. Well developed buildings of every department. The furniture quality is very good. There are many canteens and gym also. The view from the college of tehri lake is quite placid. There is a very healthy and enjoyable environment to live.
Faculty: There is not sufficient faculty members everytime. They came as guest lecturer and then the went after determined time. There are very few qualified and good faculty members. Sometimes course does't finished on the time period. The problem might be solved by time so you can join the college.
Other: There is a annual cultural fest and tech fest held every year. And also workshops of robotocs, Java and embedded systems. There is also gym facility.

I had an absolutely satisfying experience.
Placements: The placement numbers are low, but quite a good companies come here. Also, the Dehradun is very near to the college, and this college provides access to almost every open placement. Also, the industrial experience of THDC India Ltd. is continuously provided by the administration to the students, and they help us during the placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good with a beautiful building in between the hills and the view of Tehri lake which makes it even more beautiful. The labs are very well-equipped. For the civil and electrical engineering students live experience of the hydro-electric is very easy to get. Its library also has all the books that one needs, during the course time.
Faculty: The faculty in ECE is good. They are young and brilliant minds. All teachers are well qualified and well knowledgeable. They provide practical knowledge along with the theoretical knowledge. Also, they help students during placements. They also help students in publishing IEEE papers.
