Course Curriculum at THDC Institute of Hydropower Engineering and Technology (THDC-IHET)

* Not Updated Regularly: The course curriculum at THDC-IHET is not updated regularly, making it less relevant to the industry.
* UTTARAKHAND TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY CURRICULUM: The course curriculum follows the UTU curriculum, which might not be entirely up-to-date with new technologies.

Not satisfied with the infrastructure and placement.
Placements: There are not so many placement in our college hardly anyone got placed. especially in mechanical engineering, there is no placement. I have heard we can only depend on GATE for jobs.it is an average college among other government institution. Studies are okay but have no atmosphere that a college needs.
Infrastructure: It's is not so big nor its bad in infrastructure. Wi-Fi is also available library is there but not have so many books available except the syllabus study.hostel is not good food is less than average, there is no ground to play, have only ambulance and hospital is also far away from college.
Faculty: Teachers are good educated and qualified they have good knowledge and understanding they teach well but due to not having labs having required equipment we were able to get only theoretical knowledge not getting practical knowledge so I can't say for sure that we are industrial ready.
Other: I have interest in mechanical and things are made best thing about mechanical engineer is there course is not limited it includes all little bit of knowledge of other branches labs are the most important thing being mechanical engineer it needs to improve there is not so many big events and activities in our college there is need organized big events related especially technical events.

College with good infrastructure.
Placements: Placement in the college is decent because our batch 2011-15 was first batch. Only two private company for Electrical and Communication stream visited our campus. So in terms of placement it is yet to prove mettle but because it is state government college it has resources to do it.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure in our college is quite good. Every branch has its own building. Classroom has all basic infrastructure like projector, ACs, etc. While labs has all essential equipment. We have 6 canteen in our campus and all have different cuisine. Library and Medical facilities in campus are very good.
Faculty: Faculty in our college was average. Some faculty were very good while some were decent and others were bad. Our Mechanical faculty members were very good, they provided every kind of help to help students to understand subjects. Course curriculum were not updated regularly.

The experience was the worst here. Think twice before taking admission in this college.
Placements: The college doesn't provide good placements. Hardly one or two companies visit the campus and only a few students are qualified. These companies don't offer good salary packages and students who got placed left their job after working for 6 months or 1 year because they think they are not being paid fairly and work for extra hours. One of the main reasons that companies don't come to this college is students are either not interested in engineering jobs or they are not well qualified.
Infrastructure: There is no proper laboratory equipment; hardly there is any working machine. There is a library but not equipped with standard books. There are no proper medical facilities. There is no qualified doctor. If you ask for any sports equipment, they will advise you to study. No one encourages you to take part in extracurricular activities, especially senior faculty members including the director. Classrooms are okay. Wi-Fi is not available for all of us. Hostel rooms are good. The food served in the mess is the worst.
Faculty: There are not enough faculty members for each subject. There is a shortage of faculty members. Most of them use books for teaching. They are not experienced enough. Some qualified teachers are not interested in teaching, and they never come to class. If you don't attend some classes, there are high chances of getting debarred and your marks are affected.
Other: The college never offers funds for any fest; students have to pay for it. There is no campus, you either have to stay in the hostel or in class. The mess is the worst, but you have no other options. Teachers and director will not talk to you properly. There is no help from any faculty members or director. The college management is the worst, and all they want is money.

Totally satisfied by faculty, placements and infrastructure.
Placements: The placements here was not too good, but there is a lack of resources in the college area, so the companies don't try to come here. Moreover, many new companies try to come here and place a good number of students in their organisation or companies.
Infrastructure: It has a nice infrastructure with all facilities. Also, there are nice classrooms and hostels. It is AICTE approved. Also, Wi-Fi is present here, and labs are available. There is the best central library present here. Also, the quality of the labs and classrooms here are fantastic. The quality of the food at the hostel is not up to the mark as it fluctuates every day. Some of the connecting roads to this college are not ready yet.
Faculty: The faculty here are very qualified, and most of them are from IITs and NITs. Their teaching quality is also very good. We also got an industry exposure here as we have an industrial visit every year. The course curriculum here is not that much useful. Overall, the faculty here is the best from rest of the government colleges.
Other: Technical fests and various workshops are held here every year. The campus surroundings here have the best scenes and ambience. It also has 48 sq. km., of the lake nearby.

An overview of THDC Institute of Hydropower Engineering and Technology.
Placements: There are placements, and in fact, today we had placements for all the branches of the fourth year. A microprocessor company had come. The college tries its best to bring companies to carry out the placement. The training and placement cell fully supports us and provides us with the information.
Infrastructure: It's has got the best infrastructure amongst all government college of Uttarakhand Technical college. It has got all the labs. The workshops are best classes. I love the administration infrastructure. There is a separate block for all the departments.
Faculty: Every branch has faculty members. They share their knowledge experience and skills. They complete the courses in time. Many times, it may not be possible, but they try to do their best by taking extra classes and help the students whenever and wherever needed.
Other: All the necessary events take place in this college.
