Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

A:

Is it Worth Pursuing B.E./B.Tech at Theem College of Engineering?

Based on the reviews and feedback from current and former students, here's a summary of the pros and cons:

Pros:
* Good infrastructure, including libraries, laboratories, and recreational spaces
* Helpful and qualified teachers, although some may have a strict teaching style
* Opportunities for extracurricular activities, events, and festivals
* Location is convenient, with proximity to industrial zones and employment hubs
* Scholarships available for deserving students

Cons:
* Faculty turnover and a lack of experienced teachers
* Limited practical training and exposure to industry
* Poor placement records, with low salaries and limited job opportunities
* Limited availability of resources, including Wi-Fi and functional laboratory equipment
* High fees, with no significant financial aid or discounts
* Strict rules and regulations, requiring written permissions for minor tasks

Teaching Quality:
While some teachers are qualified and helpful, others may have a rigid teaching style or incomplete qualifications. Practical training and hands-on learning could improve significantly.

Placement Records:
Placement rates are low, with limited job opportunities and low salaries. Off-campus drives may be more successful, but these are rare.

Infrastructure and Facilities:
The college has decent infrastructure, including libraries, laboratories, and recreational spaces. However, Wi-Fi connectivity is non-existent, and some laboratory equipment is outdated or dysfunctional.

In conclusion, while Theem College of Engineering has its strengths, particularly in infrastructure and faculty, it faces significant challenges in providing meaningful practical training, adequate resources, and strong placement records. Prospective students should carefully weigh these factors before making an informed decision.

Course Curriculum Structure at Theem College of Engineering

Based on the reviews from students and alumni, here's how the course curriculum is structured for B.E./B.Tech:

* Syllabus Completion: Faculty members are well-disciplined and complete almost every module of the syllabus, ensuring that students cover a wide range of topics.
* Relevance: The course curriculum is considered good and relevant, particularly in the fields of telecommunications and electronics, which are booming sectors with promising job prospects.
* Assignment and Project Work: Students are expected to work on individual projects, which helps prepare them for industry demands. However, some teachers may not allow students to write assignments in the library.
* Semester Exams: The semester exams are not extremely difficult, and the pass percentage is generally good.
* Industry Readiness: While the curriculum covers a significant portion of the syllabus, it may not fully prepare students for industry requirements. Students need to take additional steps to become industry-ready.

Last year, only TCS visited our campus and selected some good students, and the rest of the students are forced to find placements on their own.

Affordable than other colleges.
Placements: 80 percent of students were placed in my course. The highest package offered was 600,000 rupees per annum. The average package offered in my course is 350,000 to 400,000 rupees. The top recruiting company for my course is TCS. 65% of students got internships from my course. The top roles offered to those in my course pay 1,200,000 rupees.
Infrastructure: There is no hostel in my college. Facilities and infrastructure available for my course are good enough. Food available in the mess and canteen is good. Sports and games are excellent. We have a wide campus. We have a wide library, classrooms, labs, and practical rooms.
Faculty: My college is affiliated with Mumbai University. Some teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is okay. The course makes students industry-ready. Students are prepared for industrial work. First-year semester exams are difficult compared to second- and third-year exams. Fourth-year semester exams are difficult.
Other: College fees is reasonable compared to other colleges. There are 60 students each in IT, CS, and AIML. 30,000 rupees are returned from the EBC scholarship. The campus has the best events, crowd, and connectivity.

Good infrastructure with poor faculty / Placement.
Placements: Only local companies come here. 3 to 4 LPA is average package. Mostly students are getting placed by off campus. They have TCS, Infosys on their banner poster but never heard them coming. Around 30 to 40% students are doing internship. Average role is SQL / web developer.
Infrastructure: Have great camps, big library, garden, cricket ground and lots of fruit plants. They have gym but it is always close for students. They have sports equipments but they don't provide any. For every small task / work you have to take written permission from various authorities ( director, principle, HOD etc. ) They have forced bus service, if you are coming to college you have to pay for bus charges. Bus service is costlier than local rickshaw.
Faculty: Teachers are not so qualified. They blindly hire teachers from any educational background. The school level teachers are teaching Degree. They say learn from Google / YouTube. Even at practical they say to open YouTube and Learn from there. Very disappointed by faculty.
Other: Campus is good. You will not have any difficulties if you clear your fees. They don't have well experienced teachers.

In this college, there is a Muslim and Marathi minority.
Placements: 80 percent of students were placed in my course. The highest 6 lakhs per annum, and the average package offered in my course is 3.5 to 4 lakhs. Top recruiting companies for my course are TCS. 65 percent of students got internships from my course. The top roles offered in my course are 12 lakhs.
Infrastructure: No hostel in my college. Facilities and infrastructure available for my course are good enough. Food available in the mess and canteen is good, and sports and games are excellent. We have a wide campus. A wide campus where you can play various games like live cricket, football, etc.
Faculty: Some teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable, and teaching quality is okay. Yes, it makes the students industry-ready. Affiliated with Mumbai University. Some teachers are not good . No generator, and there is a water drinking problem. If there is any problem with any teacher, they will not replace the teacher; they will improve the teacher.
Other: College fees are relevant as compared to other colleges. There are 60 students in IT, CS, AIML, and COM. Scholarship is there for 40 students. Events, Fest, Campus Crowd, Connectivity, and Campus are average.

I have taken the wrong decision to take the admission .
Placements: Very less in campus placement . the companies which visit gives less placement package like 1.5LPA to 2 LPA. Its not appropriate to the efforts we put in.
Infrastructure: There in total 4 building Walking through the entrance you will see the degree building. first 2 are degree building, then there is a Diploma building and after there is cafeteria. Buildings are not old but the maintenance hasn't been done.
Faculty: after the lock down and many good faculty have left the college and the consequences is been faced by the students. We were not getting proper teaching staff and this all were been reflected on ours exam and results. there are very less teaching faculty, like only two of them were managing and handling everything.
Other: I have chosen the B.E it and . And after the winters during jan or feb there is college fest called Jhasne-Them and there is total nice vibe and all.

It is an average college.
Placements: Our college provides placement opportunities, but they are not good. The management is not good. The salary package offered ranges between 2 LPA - 3 LPA. The salary offered is Rs. 25,000 per month.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are average. Some classrooms don't have proper air ventilation. The bus and cafeteria facilities are not working after covid. They don't take care of students.
Faculty: Our college has few faculty members. They don't care about subject completions and the assignment of faculty for particular subjects. The BDA and BL subjects are pending, and exams are starting on the 9th of May.
Other: The course curriculum is good.

The college is good which can provide all the facilities.
Placements: Maximum 30-40% can be placed in a course in college, giving a maximum 13-14 LPA and less to less 3-4 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Accenture, Wipro, TCS, Capgemini, etc. More than 40–50 percent of students get internships in TCS. The internship is offered at Microsoft.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure are good in the department. Every department has their individual labs as per subjects. The library is provided for every student. In the college canteen, food is well and good. The college's canteen serves vegetarian and non-vegetarian food.
Faculty: Teachers and faculties are good in every department. Teachers are well qualified and have good skills, which can be helpful for a student. Semester exams are done in college itself as per the rules of Mumbai University.
