Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

A:
{Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

Is it Worth Pursuing B.E./B.Tech at Theem College of Engineering?

Based on the reviews and feedback from current and former students, here's a summary of the pros and cons:

Pros:
* Good infrastructure, including libraries, laboratories, and recreational spaces
* Helpful and qualified teachers, although some may have a strict teaching style
* Opportunities for extracurricular activities, events, and festivals
* Location is convenient, with proximity to industrial zones and employment hubs
* Scholarships available for deserving students

Cons:
* Faculty turnover and a lack of experienced teachers
* Limited practical training and exposure to industry
* Poor placement records, with low salaries and limited job opportunities
* Limited availability of resources, including Wi-Fi and functional laboratory equipment
* High fees, with no significant financial aid or discounts
* Strict rules and regulations, requiring written permissions for minor tasks

Teaching Quality:
While some teachers are qualified and helpful, others may have a rigid teaching style or incomplete qualifications. Practical training and hands-on learning could improve significantly.

Placement Records:
Placement rates are low, with limited job opportunities and low salaries. Off-campus drives may be more successful, but these are rare.

Infrastructure and Facilities:
The college has decent infrastructure, including libraries, laboratories, and recreational spaces. However, Wi-Fi connectivity is non-existent, and some laboratory equipment is outdated or dysfunctional.

In conclusion, while Theem College of Engineering has its strengths, particularly in infrastructure and faculty, it faces significant challenges in providing meaningful practical training, adequate resources, and strong placement records. Prospective students should carefully weigh these factors before making an informed decision.

* Relevance: The course curriculum is considered good and relevant, particularly in the fields of telecommunications and electronics, which are booming sectors with promising job prospects.

Not so good college. Needs improvement.
Placements: No recruitment for students of mechanical, automobile, civil, electrical and electronics background were there. Only a single company came for recruitment and hired only for IT roles. IT students mostly were hired.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure was also not up to the required standard. No sports activity was there. Students great in some or the other sports were neither encouraged nor sponsored.
Faculty: The faculty members were not so good neither the curriculum was updated and up to the mark. Invigilation during exams was quite strict. No practical knowledge provided.
Other: No extra curriculum activities were organized by faculty or college.

Placements are not in our branch as expected.
Placements: There are a limited number of students placed in this course from on-campus. The roles offered are production enginee, quality engineer, and design engineer. The salary package ranges from Rs. 8,000 per month to 6 LPA. The top recruiter is Mahindra. Accent Solution provides an internship for one month. The majority of college recruitment is for software engineers.
Infrastructure: It has a huge infrastructure. There is a library and a good number of labs. Vector is a workshop provided for innovations. The canteen has good quality food. There is a huge playground for playing. There is a gym facility for students.
Faculty: We have good professors. The teaching quality of some of them is good. Some professors are interactive and helpful in nature. The semester exams are difficult, but the pass percentage is good because KT students are fewer in this course. There were first-rankers in this course at Mumbai University last year.
Other: The design field is the best part of our course. The Sae India programme is held. Jashne thim college fest happens every year. Blood donation camps are conducted. Seminars and sports events are held in college. Bus facilities are there to drop students off at the railway station.

Absolutely dissatisfied?
Placements: Nobody has been placed from our department. Their was no highest the lowest package because we doesn't any chance. They will tell u that many companies come their but their is no placements. If you have any either better option I suggest you to go their don't take admission here. If you take your life will be gone to ruin.
Infrastructure: There was no hostel but the facilities and infrastructure are little bit good. Some teachers are very good and helpful towards us but some are very egoistic. I think they are trying to give hostel facility but currently their is no hostel we all friends living in 2 bhk at exam times that was a very the craziest part of my life .
Faculty: Some teachers are very helpful but some are very egoistic and they doesn't pay attention to students. No the syllabus is cannot make students ready for industries because we all were in online mode. Semester in online exams are very easy at that time pass percentage was 100%.
Other: I have get admission because I was in tfws scheme so I don't know about fees structure of normal students. I can guess it .

Absolutely dissatisfied because of the faculty.
Placements: The placement rate of our college is quite low, hardly any student is recruited through campus placements. Even if they are selected, the salary offered would be about Rs. 8,000-10,000 which is very low after putting so much hard work in this 4 years degree. So basically, you can't get placed from this college.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facility is not available. Many labs are available, but 70% of the instruments don't work, and they are just for display. The library has a limited supply of books, so most of the students have to purchase books from external sources. It is small and highly crowded during exam time. The canteen has a great ambience, but the quality and quantity of food are the worst. There are issues with the mobile network.
Faculty: Some teachers are good and very friendly with students, but some have too much attitude, and they don't care about the students. If you ask any doubt, they'll think for some time and tell you to come to their cabin later. Most of the faculty are not even specialised in a particular subject. The college hasn't recruited appropriate faculty members for a particular subject. Automobile department does take us for industrial visits, but only for 1 day which is not the best because no one can learn things in a day, so the exposure to industry is very low.

Choose this college only if you live near Boisar.
Placements: There are no good placements in this college. The college should improve its placement department. Last year, only TCS visited our campus and selected some good students, and the rest of the students are forced to find placements on their own.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good. The campus is huge and has a lot of facilities. All the required labs are available. The campus has a playground where students can play football, cricket and basketball. The canteen is also big and serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food, which is very good for students. Classrooms are well-maintained and are well-furnished.
Faculty: Faculty members are the most important in a college. Our college doesn't have quality faculty. They should hire some experienced faculty. The pedagogy is completely based on the theory. Practical knowledge should also be provided because only theoretical knowledge will not be helpful for students to work in the industry.
Other: The campus is situated in Boisar and has bus facilities from Boisar railway station, which is quite helpful. The college doesn't conduct any fest. Only an annual sports day is celebrated.
