Engineering and excellence.

Placements: The placements are good, and they make a lot of effort and take initiatives to make sure that all the students get placed. They're very much technical oriented and the way they train students is extremely good. Students can develop better personality and character.

Good placements in 2016, and I miss my hostel life at college.

Placements: Placements were good for our batch and the previous batch. Each student got double and triple offers. It was fun, but some rounds and interviews were a bit difficult to crack. On day 1 sharing slot CTS hired 634 students, Wipro hired 626 and Infosys hired 517 students. The total offers on day 1 slot were 1,777, dream and core offers were 93 and total offers 1,870. Unique offers were 1069 out of 1,526, and 70% of the students got placed in day 1 slot.

Overall the Velammal is decent college and provides lots of career opportunities in software company

Placements: For placements they bring in lots of software and IT companies so Placements are best for computer Science and IT department students. But for other departments like Mechanical, Automobile, Civil the companies which visit the campus is very much less when compared to software company. So the students from these departments opt for software companies due to lack of opportunities in their core department.

The infrastructure and placements were good in the college.

Placements: The placements at our college are very good. The companies like Amazon, Cognizant, TCS, etc., visit our college for placements. In our college, nearly 75% of the students got placed in the top most companies. In our college, automobile and mechanical students also got placed in good companies.

Overall I am satisfied with my life at Velammal Engineering College.

Placements: In my department, there are 54 students in the final year. Out of these, 48 students are eligible for attending the placement. Only 12 out of 48 got placed in companies like Infosys, Wipro, MindTree and EmbedUR. I am not exactly sure about the salary package, but it is closely near to 4 LPA. Most of the students got the roles of Associate Software Engineer. We do have a Training and Placement Cell in our college and they are doing the best they can to boost the count of the companies visiting t...

This college gives importance only to results.

Placements: During my final year placements (2015-16), there were many IT companies which came to my college, but unfortunately, no core company came during that period. But now, I came to know from my junior, that core companies are coming to college and hiring. There is an increase in core companies now.

Overall, I haven't enjoyed my college life, with strict rules.

Placements: The only good thing in my college is the placement. If you do not have any arrears and you have a CGPA of at least 65%, you will definitely get placed by our college. We created a record in placement in 2015 by placing 1234 students on our campus. No other college till now broke this record.

About VEC, pros and cons to know, before joining.

Placements: There are good placements here. Here, all the product and service companies will be present with no BPO for the recruitment and 90% of the students got placements in our batch. If you cleared all the subjects, definitely you can get placed easily. If you got an arrear and you are good in programming, then you can still get the job in the product companies like Zoho.

Velammal Engineering College - The road to your destiny.

Placements: It is the top-notch college in Tamilnadu. It guarantees you with your placement for sure. But my bad luck I was not placed in any on-campus placements. The college provided me with all off-campus opportunities too. My batch was 2010 to 2014, and there were around 3000 to 4000 students on the whole. Almost 75% of the students got placed. Starting from TCS, all fortune companies had visited or by other means, we were given the opportunity to attend the placement. Amazon, Zoho and big recruiters re...

Place to learn and get placed.

Placements: The placement training was good. I got placed in L&T Infotech. Many companies came for placement CTS, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Zoho, and much more. Many core companies for mechanical department came for placement. Good training was given to get placed. Around 92% of the students for our batch students are placed.

I personally recommend velammal for my juniors.

Placements: IT placements are too good in our college. Some of the top IT companies like Infosys and Wipro visit our college every year. Zoho is one of the reputed product company which visits our college every year. The average salary package is about Rs. 2.5 to 4 LPA. Apart from the IT company, many marketing companies do visit our college. Regarding the core companies, these numbers are not big. This year TVS and Godrej visited our campus (till Dec 2017).Other than this, our college also provides opportu...

Velammal Engineering College has really good placements.

Placements: The placements in our college are good. Different placement training programs are available. The online training like E-box, Cocubes, and aspiring minds are available. 80% of the students get placed every year. Every student in the college has done at least one mini-project.

A college where you can enjoy when your take IT or CSC not for civil and mechanical students.

Placements: If you are from IT or CSC, then I can say this is the best placement offering college without a second thought with an average gross around 4 LPA. For civil, mechanical it's difficult to get into the core, but you can easily get placed in top service IT companies. The core companies will be taking an only small number, so you need luck as well as some good knowledge.

Extraordinary teachers and their methods were fabulous. Many offers motivate students.

Placements: The placements were quite good but not enough. The highest salary offered was 12 lacs per annum and the lowest salary offered were 3.5 lacs per annum. The most of the product companies which has B.Ed visited our campus and offered internship. The placement cell is very useful. We can gather the information which is related to the placements without any delay.

It is really a good college to study.

Placements: The college has good networking with IT companies and some core companies too. As a result, any student without arrear will get an offer guaranteed. Even after passing out from the college with one offer, the placement committee keeps in touch with you and provide better offers which happened in my case. Average salary around 4 LPA in 2015 is provided and must probably have increased.

I am absolutely satisfied with its distance.

Placements: The placement in Chennai is too tough to get. Even if we got placed in a company, we wouldn't get the call letter. TVS, Sundaram-Clayton, Amazon, Zoho. etc., are the companies that visit the college. There is a placement cell as well in the college. They train the students effectively with a good communicative English.

I felt that there are good placement and good teaching in the college.

Placements: The placements are good. I feel, it has very good placements after getting placed through campus because it is very hard to get jobs outside the campus and I would even recommend the college to bring the core companies which are suitable for the particular student, and he is satisfied.

Unsatisfactory placements in 2017, average faculty, and good infrastructure and facilities

Placements: The placements for our senior batch weren't satisfactory. TVS Motors was the only established and the only core company to offer jobs. Only 1 student out of the entire batch got selected this year in TVS. The package offered was 4.5 LPA. Some startup companies too visited our campus, their packages ranging from 2.5 to 4 LPA. From the mechanical department, 20 students got selected for Infosys with a package of 3.5 LPA and 1 for Wipro for the same package. The students aren't offered internship f...

Overall, moderate staff, good placement and infrastructure.

Placements: IT companies like CTS, Wipro, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Zoho etc. visited the college. There's a good intake in IT companies but is low when compared to the previous year intake. Core companies like Delphi TVS, RLE International, Turbo Energy Ltd recruit the students in Automobile. The college does not provide internships. The mechanical course had some other offers additionally to the automobile.

Good placements (mostly service companies) in 2016

Placements: Almost all service companies came for placements in 2016. CTS, Wipro and Infosys came for placements on day 1 and the average salary offered by them was about 3 lacs per annum and they recruited around 55% of the students. Companies like Zoho and Mu Sigma came for placements before the main placements begun. The highest salary offered was by Amazon at about 7.5 lacs per annum. No core companies came as far as ECE was concerned. Almost all students who were interested in placements got placed but...
