A decent college within the city that stands among the top 5 Institutions in Tamil Nadu.

Placements: In our Department, about 70-75 % of students get placed every year. The range of the package varies from 3.5 to 8 LPA. Most of the students get placed in IT product and services companies like CTS and Wipro. Though core companies such as Godrej, BGR Energy Groups, TVS visit our campus the recruitment numbers are less. About 40% of Students got Internship.

The review of Velammal Engineering College.

Placements: As far as the placements in mechanical companies are concerned, they are average. One can have more options in the IT sector. Our seniors who passed out also have an opportunity to attend for placement drives. IT companies like CTS, TCS, and Infosys are the tier 1 companies that hire many candidates from our college. Special training is given for placements, and the training sessions provided are good to attend an interview.

The college is really awesome for placements. Infrastructure and facilities are the worst.

Placements: Placements in Velammal were really excellent. We have a placement cell where they train students to improve their both technical skills and soft skills. Companies like Zoho and Amazon visited our college, and they gave us good offers to join their organisation. The highest salary package offered was around 11 LPA. Many companies offered internships to students, but the stipends offered were really low, of around Rs. 8,000 per month. The placement percentage of our batch was around 90%.

The college provides better facilities, but it is in our hand to use them properly.

Placements: Only a few core companies visit the college for placements. Most of the students got placed in IT companies, but almost 95% of the students will be getting placed in some or the other companies for sure. Entrepreneur clubs help the students who are trying to set up business even after the completion of their final year.

Engineering and excellence.

Placements: The placements are good, and they make a lot of effort and take initiatives to make sure that all the students get placed. They're very much technical oriented and the way they train students is extremely good. Students can develop better personality and character.

Good placements in 2016, and I miss my hostel life at college.

Placements: Placements were good for our batch and the previous batch. Each student got double and triple offers. It was fun, but some rounds and interviews were a bit difficult to crack. On day 1 sharing slot CTS hired 634 students, Wipro hired 626 and Infosys hired 517 students. The total offers on day 1 slot were 1,777, dream and core offers were 93 and total offers 1,870. Unique offers were 1069 out of 1,526, and 70% of the students got placed in day 1 slot.

Overall the Velammal is decent college and provides lots of career opportunities in software company

Placements: For placements they bring in lots of software and IT companies so Placements are best for computer Science and IT department students. But for other departments like Mechanical, Automobile, Civil the companies which visit the campus is very much less when compared to software company. So the students from these departments opt for software companies due to lack of opportunities in their core department.

Most of the students of all the departments get placed in IT service industries, and proficient students get placed in IT-product companies.
