Trend and scenario of Velammal -2017.

Placements: I am a core person, but got placed in an IT company. In Tamil Nadu, the scenario of core companies looking for on-campus placement drive is minimal when compared with the previous year. But we will even get some companies in forthcoming months. The average salary offered is around Rs. 4.5 lpa.

Review about my college: Velammal Engineering College.

Placements: 80% students got placed in the day one slot. CTS, Wipro and Infosys came for the day one placements. Other companies like TVS, Zoho, Aricent and Soloris also came, and more than 90% students got placed in our batch with an average salary of 3.6 lakhs per annum. More than 100 companies visited our college, but the core companies are less in numbers. The college is also having a separate placement training cell.

Really good placements and opportunities.

Placements: Placements were almost 100% in our batch and almost the same percentage in the senior batch. The placements are great. The highest salary was about 6 LPA and the lowest was about 3 LPA. The average placements package was 4 LPA. Companies like Amazon, Atos, IBM, Wipro, Cognizant, Capgemini, other big MNCs and a few start-ups also came for recruitment purposes. Students here mostly were offered tech support roles by big MNCs and start-ups came with development roles and coding roles. Internship...

I have mixed reviews for this college, even though campus placements and coursework is good, but there is not much of a campus life to cherish in the campus. It is all about studies and almost no extracurricular activities. Things such as sports are not much encouraged, not even 10% of importance is given to sports as given to tests and coursework. Teachers at times are not competent in explaining certain aspects of the course that may happen at times with everyone but the faculty members do not...

Fine and inspiring. The Management did their best. Infrastructure is good and the faculty is friendly and motivating. There is a healthy competition among different departments in sports and academics. Got a great bunch of good friends who helped each other in all forms of life.

The best part about the college is the crowd, people are very friendly. The professors are knowledgeable and the grading system is average. Placements are excellent. The worst part is the lack of a cultural identity. There are no proper cultural event that is painful and boring to every student. Management seemed disinterested in improving college facilities and concentrated on the school instead.

The good: placements The bad: the restrictions imposed on the students (like no mobile phones allowed, no taking to the opposite gender students etc.) The ugly: constant spying to impose the bad part! I have also had some bad experiences with a few members is the faculty. It turned out that a certain department has a feud with mine and hence they were treating is badly in general.

My college has well-equipped labs, experienced faculty members, and placement guidance is also provided. The infrastructure of the campus is good, and college buses are available at all locations in Chennai. The hostel is well maintained, and the canteen food is also hygienic. Students also participate in sports. Gym facility is provided for both boys and girls. Campus placements have companies like CTS and Infosys, which widens the students' scope internationally.

Our college is only meant to study not to enjoy the campus life, it will not help much to bring out your hidden talents like in music, dance and so on. It will not create a good platform for your talent but it will assure you for a job in a good company. This is college is so good for CSE, IT, ECE but not for mechanical because they does not give importance to placements for this branch.

Our college considers academics is more important.

Placements: The college is determined to make every eligible student to get placed. The college has a placement cell, and it also provides dedicated soft skills training. More than 90% of the eligible students were placed at least in one company from our batch. I am aware that only 2 companies offered internships, i.e., Amazon and Zoho. The highest salary package offered must be around 9 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is around 2.8 LPA, and the average salary package offered should be somewhere ...
