Average as per educational overview.
Placements: As its a government college. Mostly you have to do so many things by your self only, though you will get the best guidance. As I am doing my Masters, so I don't know much about, how the students get placed after Bachelors, but at last time as co-ordination member I had organized one placement, and it went well. Many professors give their best for students.
Infrastructure: The planning of the college is a bit puzzling, but as you get used to with it, you won't get any trouble finding your department. The campus is also well-maintained if I can talk about my department, the washrooms are clean. Labs are there, but most of the equipment will not work at all.
Faculty: As it is a government college, most of all the faculty members are highly qualified and well experienced in their own subject. They are helpful, but you have to approach if you want to study and learn. They are always ready to teach you. Also, the classes are regular.

Good facilities and the environment is good for studies.
Placements: The placement in our batch was low compared with our seniors batch. Only 20% of the students were placed in my class. The highest salary offered was 3.5 lakhs per anum and the lowest salary offered was 2.5 lakhs per anum. The company which visited were TCS, Einfochips, PerfectVIPs Techno Solutions Private Limited. Almost all the students got a chance for the internship (80%), the places for the internship include ISRO and IPR. The average stipend offered was Rs. 12,400.
Infrastructure: The college has excellent labs with Wi-Fi facilities. There is a separate ground for cricket, football, basketball, and indoor court for badminton. There is a library having all the reference books. The quality of labs is excellently equipped with latest instruments. The classrooms are also comfortable. There is a canteen in the college itself, but the food is average. The hostel rooms are large enough even though beds are not equipped with all the rooms yet.
Faculty: The faculty was very knowledgeable and has a higher level of experience. The experience with the faculty was very good. A powerpoint presentation was used for teaching which was very helpful. The faculty was slightly less, so we had to study few subjects by ourselves. We all got industry exposure in good places. The course curriculum was helpful, and almost every useful subject got covered.

Good infrastructure and bad hostel facilities
Placements: First of all, I have done ME in EC. For ME students, placement at VGEC is very poor. For BE, placement is good for computer and IT students. So, placement wise, VGEC is not a good college. So if you want to pursue BE in IT and computer, then it is a good college.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. A good environment and greenery around the campus. Wi-Fi facilities are not available. They provide LAN connection in the hostels and in the college. The instruments in the lab are not properly working. Classrooms are good. Medical facilities are not available. The main problem is with water. There is a shortage of water on the campus.
Faculty: The faculty members of VGEC are very supportive, helpful, very experienced, and well-educated. They teach all the subjects very conceptually and you can understand the topics easily. So, they are always helpful and supportive in nature. Being a student, I always try to learn new things. So whenever I found some queries and went to them, they always gave their best to make me solve that problem.

Dissatisfied because of the faculty and the management.
Placements: Our seniors got good placement in TCS, Infochip, and Perfect Vips. But in our batch, only 3 students got placed. Infochip is not a good company because they do not give salary for 6 months. This year, overall compared to the previous year(2016), very few students got placed (overall around 40-50). Only TCS offered 25k salary while others offered 15-18k per month. Here masters students are treated like they are a worker in the college and they are treated like a peon. Stipend is offered only to post graduates. The whole stipend amount is paid at once.
Infrastructure: No Wi-Fi and the PCs of the labs are not working, No A.C in labs. Sports and games activities take place in the college. The library facility is average. From the last 2 years, we had been sleeping on the floor in the hostel but now we are provided with beds. No drinking water facility in the hostel or even in the college. We have to roam here and there for water. Earlier there was a shortage of bathing water. The hostel mess food is below average and the canteen is zero.
Faculty: My experience with faculty was not good. They are qualified but only helpful when you flatter them. They do partiality with the students. Instead of teaching, they will show you teaching videos to the students based on the respective subject, give each student a chapter and he/she has to explain that chapter to the whole class.
