Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   How many students can do a BArch at ZHCET?

A:

There are about 24 students that can enroll at Zakir Husain College of Engineering & Technology (ZHCET) to pursue a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) degree. Here's how we can get to that determination:

Restricted Information: Regretfully, the precise intake for the B.Arch programme may not be stated clearly on ZHCET's website or in official publications.

Standard admission for B.Arch programs: In India, B.Arch programs are generally governed by the Council of Architecture (CoA), which also establishes a standard admission cap for each college. Usually, the cap is between 20 and 40 pupils.

With these things taken into account, it's reasonable to anticipate that ZHCET accepts about 24 students for its B.Arch program.

You can perform the following to get confirmation:

Official Website: Look for any mention of the B.Arch programme admission on the most recent ZHCET website or brochures.

Q:   How much does BArch at ZHCET cost?

A:

ZHCET's B.Arch. first-year fees are INR 18,040. It's crucial to remember that this could only represent a portion of the overall programme costs.

Here's how to contact ZHCET for the most up-to-date information about BArch fees:

ZHCET Website: For up-to-date information on the cost of the BArch program, see the ZHCET website.

The most reliable method to obtain the most recent information is to get in touch with the ZHCET Admissions Office.  Get in contact with the ZHCET admissions office to find out the entire cost of the BArch program, including any extra fees.

Examine Additional Expenses: Recall that other expenses may exist in addition to tuition. Consider the price of books, stationery, test fees, dorm rooms (if any), and other incidental college expenses.

Q:   How many seats are there in the BArch programme?

A:

The institute has a seat intake of only 20 students.

Q:   Is BTech at ZHCET better than Jamia Millia Islamia?

A:

Benefits of ZHCET:

Potentially lower costs: ZHCET may have cheaper costs than JMI.
Focus on Research (Possible): According to some sources, ZHCET may place more of a focus on research, which may be advantageous for students who want to pursue postsecondary education.

JMI Benefits:

Location: JMI's Delhi location provides more industry exposure and maybe improved job placement prospects.
Greater NIRF Ranking: The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) gives JMI, on average, a better ranking than ZHCET.
Focus on Entrepreneurship (Possible): If you're interested in launching your own business, JMI may place a greater emphasis on entrepreneurship.
Other Things to Think About

Particular BTech specialty: Depending on your choice of BTech specialty (e.g., computer Science vs. mechanical engineering), placement possibilities and faculty expertise may differ.

Q:   Does ZHCET accept CUET score?

A:

ZHCET considers scores from national-level or university-level entrance exams, but *doesn't specifically mention accepting CUET* for BTech admissions. Their website lists NTA scores, so clarify directly with ZHCET for confirmation.

Good faculty, one of the best returns on investment, but very poor on-campus placement.
Placements: Almost everyone gets an internship, but not through college placement; he or she has to find his or her own way. The faculty is helpful by providing contacts. The highest package was around INR 12 lacs per annum, and for an internship, on average, INR 5,000 per month.
Infrastructure: The design of the department is basic, but it has almost all the facilities, like Wi-Fi, a seminar room, material museums, etc. The hostel is not that good; it is an old structure where two to four students are placed in a room. Mess food is very hygienic and tasteless. But both the hostel and the mess are very cheap.
Faculty: All permanent faculty are highly educated, holding a Ph.D. degree and years of experience. The curriculum needs updating as new software and technologies are emerging day by day. Semester exams are quite easy; almost all students pass them (100% pass percentage).

2017 B.Arch batch had good placements.
Placements: I graduated from Amu with B.Arch in 2017. Around 50% of students were placed. The average package was 6LPA, the highest 12LPA and the lowest was 3LPA. Top recruiters included DLF, Godrej, and sobha. About 30% internships with firms like hafeez contractor and CP Kukreja. Key roles offered were architectural Designer and Project Manager.
Infrastructure: Facilities for B.Arch Course were decent - Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, and library were satisfactory. Hostel facilities were average, food quality was terrible in mess ate mostly outside or canteen. Medical services were basic. Sports facilities were good multiple grounds and coach available.
Faculty: The teachers were knowledgeable but could be more helpful. Teaching quality was good overall. The curriculum was relevant and prepared us for the industry. Semester exams were challenging but important, with a pass rate of 70 percent. A strong educational foundation with potential for improvement.

Loved My Time at AMU, good teaching quality and campus life.
Placements: As the seats are very limited for the course at AMU most of the students were placed wherever they got chance for. The average package offered in the course is around 3.6LPA and lowest package is around 2.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are L&T, Gansler, morphogenesis and many more. Students with good grades got internships at various private firms in percentage around 20-25% students. Top roles offered in the course are Architecture Designer, Architecture Engineer, etc.
Infrastructure: The Architecture Department Building is very modern looking with many buildings for different departments the classrooms are really neat and clean a lot of facilities are available for Amu students like high-speed WI-FI throughout the campus and library is also very near to the department. The facilities of hostel was very average and the quality of food was also very poor, medical facilities is free for all the students of AMU, All the games and grounds for it is available in AMU Campus.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful they provide all the course materials both offline and online which is really helpful during exam times teachers are knowledgeable and very qualified teaching quality was really on point with timely lectures. The curriculum is relevant to the industry standard and makes the student industry ready. The Semesters exams for me were not difficult at all the pass percentage for students is 33% minimum in semesters.

Review of Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology, AMU.
Placements: Around 90-95% of students got placed in our course. The highest salary package offered at our university is 15 LPA. The average salary package offered ranges between 6 LPA - 7 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 4 LPA. A lot of students got their internships in the 3rd semester. Top recruiting companies are TCS, Wipro, Amazon, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is not very good, but the course and facilities offered to us are very good. Wi-Fi, labs, and a library are easily accessible to all students. The hostel facilities are good. The hostel is not available to those students who are residents of Aligarh city. The food served in the hostel is good.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful to all students. They are very qualified. They completed their education at good and well-known colleges. Most of the teachers are Ph.D. holders. The course curriculum is very relevant and makes students industry-ready. They help us and guide us by taking all students on industrial visits. Their teaching quality is very good. Semester exams are not very difficult in our college. All students can pass exams easily.
Other: I opted for this course because of my interest in drawing and architecture. This course provides a lot of job opportunities. The demand and availability of jobs will also increase every day. This course is very good. Our college conducts one fest where our college is decorated, and it is a moment of joy for everyone. It is organised in December.

College is good with placements, fest, extracurricular activities, and all.
Placements: In the percentage of placement, there is an excellent placement in this course. The height salary package offered to graduate is 15 LPA. There are international as well as local firms for recruiting like Zaha Hadid, Architects. In this course, you have to do an internship after the 3rd year and 5th year, so in this case, every student gets an internship as it is the minimum requirement to get your degree.
Infrastructure: Department has a seminar that is like a small library in large studios with the student. Wi-Fi and labs for different purposes and everything required. Hostel life is too good, and the food of the mess is good as it is not only controlled by the administration, there is involvement by students also. Every hostel has its reading room, common room, Dining hall, and everything required. Yearly fest and events occur hostel fest, and departmental fest, faculty fest is done.
Faculty: The teaching quality is good. Every qualified teacher has done Masters or Ph.D. This course is professional and required field practice, so the internship is compulsory. Hence, it makes the student industry-ready. Semester exams usually depend on the student.
Other: I chose this course as it is a design course. I want to make other's life better with my design.

For the B.Tech exam, you have to opt for only paper 1, but for the B.Arch exam, you have to opt for both papers. Based on both papers, marks are evaluated and ranks are decided. Rest wait for the results. Best of luck.
