CEED Application Form 2025 - IIT Bombay closed the application form for CEED 2025 with late fees on November 18, 2024 (Today); the last date was extended from November 8, 2024. The last date to apply with regular fees was November 8, 2024.

The application form opened on October 1, 2024.

CEED 2024 application fee is INR 4000 (SC, ST, PwD, and women candidates must pay only INR 2000). The late fee amount is INR 500.   

The CEED application process includes steps like registration, filling out personal, communication, and education details, and paying the exam fee.

Before filling out the form, refer to the prescribed eligibility criteria mentioned in the CEED 2025 information brochure. 

The CEED entrance exam will be held on January 19, 2025. 

Q:   Where can I fill out the CEED 2025 application form?

A:

IIT Bombay will OPEN the  application form for CEED 2025 online at ceedapp.iitb.ac.in/CEED/home.jsp

The form will open tentatively in October 2024.

To apply for CEED 2025 exam, go to the portal and click on the "Register" button. You will have to first get registered, and then proceed to fill out the form. 

The admission notification for CEED 2025 will be released by IIT Bombay on its admission portal - ceed.iitb.ac.in. It will contains information like dates, information brochure, eligibility criteria, exam centres, and other important details candidates need to know before filling out the form. The CEED 2025 application is for admission to the M. Des course offered by participating colleges.

Q:   When will the application form for CEED 2025 open?

A:

The CEED 2025 applications opened on October 1, 2025. The application has to be filled online at ceed.iitb.ac.in.

The candidate can apply with both regular and late fees.

All the details pertaining to the CEED 2025 application form has been updated on the admission portals, including the information brochure. The candidate needs to carefully go through the brochure to check their eligibility. Note that information entered by the candidate at the time of submitting their application form will be verified at the time of counseling. Any candidate who doesn’t meet the criteria will be disqualified.

Q:   Can I fill out the CEED 2025 application form with late fee?

A:

Yes, there will be an option to fill out the CEED 2025 application form with late fees.

The window to submit applications with late fees will be open from November 1-8, 2024.

Candidates applying for CEED 2025 after regular registration window closes will have to pay a late fee of INR 500. The late fee will have to be paid at the time of filling out the form. 

Note that once the late application windows close, the candidate will not be able to apply for CEED 2025 any longer.

Document Checklist for filling out the CEED 2025 Application Form

The candidate must keep the following documents handy when filling out the CEED 2025 application form.

  1. Recent color photograph
  2. A scanned copy of your signature
  3. Scanned copy of degree/ diploma certificate
  4. Valid category certificates issued by appropriate authorities (for EWS/ SC / ST / OBC-NCL category candidates). 
  5. Valid medical certificate issued by appropriate authorities (for PwD category)
  6. Request letter to be uploaded by any PwD candidate who requires compensatory time during the exam
  7. Gazette notification, marriage certificate, or scanned pages of the passport to be uploaded by candidates whose name is not the same as mentioned on the degree/diploma certificate

Q:   What is the last date to fill out the CEED 2025 application form?

A:

IIT Bombay has released the admission schedule for the CEED 2025 exam, including the application start and last dates, at the time of the release of the application form.

The CEED application form is open from October 1-31, 2024.

The candidate also has the option to apply with late fees of INR 500 from November 1-8, 2024.

Note that IIT Bombay may also extend the last dates for submission of the form.

Q:   What is the application fee of CEED 2025?

A:

IIT Bombay has revised the application fee for CEED.

The updated application fee that candidates have to pay an application fee when applying for the CEED exam is shown below.

Women candidates - INR 2000

SC, ST, PwD candidates - INR 2000

All other candidates - INR 4000

The candidate will have to pay a fee as per the category they belong. If the candidate selects the wrong category and pay the wrong feels, he or she may be disqualified. So, care must be taken when selecting ones category.

Steps to Fill CEED Application Form 2025

The step-wise process to fill out the CEED 2025 application form is given below.

  1. Online Registration
  2. Check your eligibility for CEED 2025
  3. Fill in essential details
  4. Upload documents
  5. Pay the application fee

Step 1 - Online Registration

The candidate has to get registered by entering one's email ID, name, date of birth, gender, address, and mobile number. Also, create a password for the newly created applicant account.

Step 2: Check your eligibility for CEED 2025

Once the candidate has successfully completed their registration, they will be redirected to an 'Eligibility Check for CEED 2025' window.

In the log-in window, enter the following details:

  • Qualifying exam
  • Passing year
  • Mobile number

On successful verification, the candidate can move to the next step of the CEED 2023 application process.

Step 3: Fill in essential details 

The candidate in this step has to fill in their personal, correspondence, and educational qualifications. 

Further, the candidate will also have to select THREE exam centers in the order of priority.

The candidate next has to upload scanned copies of their photograph, signature, educational, and category certificates.

Step 5 : Pay the application fee

To complete the application process, the candidate has to pay the application fees. To fee can be paid in online mode using net banking, debit, or credit cards.

Q:   What is the eligibility criteria for appearing in the CEED 2025 entrance exam?

A:

To appear in the CEED 2025 exam, the candidate must have passed a degree, Diploma, or postgraduate degree exam of minimum three years. There is no limit on the upper age limit or number of attempts for appearing in CEED. The eligibility criteria that candidates need to meet for appearing in the CEED have been explained below. Qualifying exam - The candidate must have completed a degree, Diploma, or postgraduate programme of a minimum of THREE years (after 10+2). Or, Appearing for the final exam of such a programme by July 2025 or, Must have passed the GD Arts Diploma programme (10+5) level by July 2024. Age limit - No upper age limit. Number of Attempts - The CEED exam can be attempted any number of times. It is incumbent on the candidate to carefully go through the eligibility criteria before filling out the CEED application form. It is because if the candidate doesn't meet any of the criteria, then he or she can be disqualified at any stage of the admission process.

Q:   Whom should I contact if I have any problem with CEED 2025 registration process?

A:

Candidates must report any issue faced by them while filling the CEED application form by clicking on the 'Report Problem' tab that is present on the right side of the application process windows. The tab is highlight in yellow colour. On clicking this tab, candidates had to elaborate on the problem that they are experiencing and also mention their registration number.

It was recommended that candidates fill out the form as soon as possible and don't wait for the last few days. It is because students could face server or other such issues which could delay or hinder the application process.

CEED 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates seeking admission to the M.Des program need to ensure that they meet the prescribed eligibility criteria.

CEED 2025 eligibility criteria are given below.

  1. The candidate must have completed a 3 years degree/ diploma /postgraduate degree program (after 10+2 level) or
  2. Candidates appearing in the final examination of a 3-year degree/ diploma/ postgraduate program in 2024 can apply. However, they must complete their qualifying exam at the time of admission, or pass the GD Arts diploma program (10+5 level) by July 2025.
  3. Age Limit - There is no upper age limit for appearing in the CEED 2025 exam.
  4. Number of attempts - There is no limitation on the number of attempts for appearing in the CEED entrance exam

Q:   How can I check the status of my CEED 2025 registration form?

A:

Candidates can know the status of their CEED 2025 application form on the official registration portals of the exam. In a situation wherein any more information or document is required then the CEED office gets in touch with aspirants through their registered email. It may be note that complete applications will be rejected.

The application form for CEED 2025 will open tentatively in October 2024. The candidate must carefully go through the step-wise process to fill out the form.

Q:   After submission of CEED 2025 application form, can I change my examination city?

A:

Candidates can request for a change in the test city and the same will be accommodated by authorities provided there is a valid reason. To change the CEED 2025 exam city, candidates need to make a request to the office of the Chairperson, IIT Bombay within the stipulated time. The CEED 2025 exam will be conducted in 27 cities  across the country. Each of these cities can have one or more exam centres. The name of the exam centre allocated to the candidate will be mentioned in the admit card.

Q:   Is the CEED exam tough?

A:

The difficulty level of CEED exam has been maintained by authorities over the years. However, most design aspirants share that if difficulty level of all design entrance exams conducted for PG level courses is compared then CEED is slightly easier than NID Entrance Exam. This is primarily because the drawing questions asked in NID that are considered to be tougher than those put forth in CEED exam. Note that CEED exam is for admission to the M.Des courses offered by the eight participating colleges. Meanwhile, the NID that for the M.Des programme has three participating colleges.

Q:   What is the difference between CEED and UCEED exam?

A:
Both CEED and UCEED exams are conducted by IIT Bombay. However, CEED scores are used to shortlist candidates for admission to the M.Des courses, whereas UCEED is an entrance exam for admission to the B. Des course. IIT Bombay also conducts a Joint Admission Process (or counseling) for UCEED qualified candidates. However, IIT Bombay doesn't conduct any joint counseling for CEED qualified candidates. Instead, candidates who have been assigned CEED merit ranks will have to apply directly to the participating college.

The application form for CEED 2025 will be released online at ceed.iitb.ac.in. To fill out the form, you need to follow these steps:

Q:   How many students appear for CEED exam?

A:
A total of 6037 candidates registered for CEED 2023, out of which 4,910 candidates appeared, and 1,886 candidates qualified in the exam. By comparison, in 2020, 5,564 students took CEED exam and 1,724 qualified the exam. Common Entrance Examination for Design was given by 5,491 in 2019 and out of this number, 1,179 candidates qualified the design entrance test. Along with national-level exams like NID that and NIFT, CEED is among the most popular PG entrance exams in the country. The application form for CEED 2024 will open tentatively in the last week of September 2023.

Q:   How many seats are there in CEED?

A:
Seats available for CEED admission vary from one institute to the other (that accept the exam scores for admission). For e. g, IIT Hyderabad has 30 seats, while IISc Bangalore has 18 seats. Candidates are informed that CEED is just a qualifying exam. Thus, any aspirant who clears CEED exam may have to appear in further admission rounds that may be conducted by the participating college. The application process at the participating colleges typically open once the CEED entrance exam results are announced.

Q:   Can I apply for CEED 2025 exam offline?

A:

There is no option to apply for CEED 2025 exam offline. Also, application forms submitted offline, after dowloading and taking a printout of the form and filling it offline, will not be accepted. 

Candidates may note that the CEED 2025 application process is completely online. So, to fill out the form, you need to go the CEED 2025 admission portals - ceed.iitb.ac.in. Click on the application link, fill in all the essential details, upload documents, and pay the fee to complete the application process.

IIT Roorkee doesn't offer PhD in Design course through CEED. It only offers a MDes in Industrial Design.
 
Admission to the M.Des program will be based on CEED 2025 merit rank. The candidate will have to apply directly to the participating college once results are declared.

  • MSQ (Multiple Select Question): 10 questions
