CEED Sample Paper and Question Paper 2025 - IIT Bombay will release the question papers of CEED 2025 within a day or two of the conduct of the exam. The sample paper will be released online at ceed.iitb.ac.in.

The CEED 2025 exam will be conducted on January 19, 2025.

To download the CEED 2025 question paper, go to the portal and click on "Downloads." A new page will open, and you can find the CEED 2025 question paper under the "Important Documents" section.

Download the question paper in pdf format. Note that no log-in is required.

The CEED admission portal also has previous years' CEED question papers and answer keys. You can download the previous years' CEED sample papers to prepare for the exam. Use the corresponding CEED answer keys to match your answers.  

Along with question papers, also solve CEED sample papers, which are easily available in the market. CEED sample papers can help you improve problem-solving and time-management skills, and clarify doubts.

Q:   Where can I download previous years CEED question papers?

A:

The candidate can download the previous years’ question papers for the CEED exam from the CEED 2025 - IIT Bombay admission portal - ceed.iitb.ac.in. Alternatively, the candidate can also download the question papers from this page.

The candidate can download the question papers along with the answer keys. 

However, note that the question paper and answer keys for the current academic session (or CEED 2025) will only be available after the exam has been conducted. 

The previous years’ question papers can be used by the candidate to improve their problem-solving ability and improve conceptual understanding.

Q:   When will the CEED 2025 question papers be released?

A:

IIT Bombay will release the question paper for the CEED 2025 exam within a day or two or the conduct of the entrance exam. The question paper will be released alongside the draft CEED answer key.

The question paper can be downloaded online at ceed.iitb.ac.in. Note that no log-in is required to download the question paper; simply click on the download link and you can download the paper in pdf form.

The question paper, in conjunction with the answer key, can be used to calculate probable scores and thus access one’s chances of admission.

CEED Question Paper Highlights

The CEED 2025 question paper is divided into two parts - A and B.

The duration of Part A is one hour, while Part B is two hours long.

Part B will start only after the candidate completes Part A . Part A cannot be attempted once Part B has commenced. Questions of Part A and Part B appeared on the computer. Answers to Part A had to be entered on the computer. Answers to Part B needed to be given in the answer booklet provided by the invigilator.

The CEED admission portal has many useful resources including previous years’ question papers and answer keys. 

To download the question papers and keys:

  1. Go to CEED admission portal

  2. Click on the “Download” .

  3. The screen containing the question papers and answer keys will open

  4. Click on the question paper or answer key you want to download.

  5. You can download the document in PDF format.

The CEED admission portal has question banks starting from 2010 onward.

Q:   Do I need a log-in ID to download CEED question papers 2025?

A:

The candidate doesn’t need a log-in ID to download the question papers for CEED 2025. In fact, the question papers will be uploaded on the CEED admission portal in downloadable PDF format. To download the question paper, one simply needs to click on the relevant link and then select download.

Note that IIT Bombay will also release the answer key along with the question paper. The candidate can thus use the official keys to calculate the number of correct attempts and calculate expected scores.

Q:   Can I also download the solutions of CEED question papers?

A:

IIT Bombay releases the answer keys of the CEED exam along with the question paper. The answer keys contain the answers to the questions asked in the entrance exam. 

So, if you download the question paper and the corresponding answer key, you can use them for practice. Once you solve a problem, refer to the answer key and check if you have managed to correctly solve the problem.

Currently, the CEED admission portal has question papers starting from 2010. Meanwhile, the answer keys are available from 2020 onward.

But note that IIT Bombay will not release the detailed solution to a question, but release only the answer option. 

To get the detailed solutions, you have to check out with the coaching websites and other online sources.

CEED Mock Test 2025

The official CEED 2025 mock test (or sample exam) will be released close to the exam; in the meantime, candidates can take the CEED sample exam for CEED 2025.

The sample exam has to be attempted in online mode and contains only four questions per section, i.e., Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions, Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ). This is because the primary aim of releasing the sample paper is to ensure that aspirants get acquainted with the look and feel of the design entrance exam.

Other things that aspirants need to keep in mind while attempting a sample exam are mentioned below:

  • The sample exam question paper is not a exact replica of the CEED examination
  • This sample paper will help aspirants to understand how the CEED exam interface looks/ works.
  • To view CEED part B of the Sample/ Practice test, aspirants need to wait for 30 minutes.

Steps to Solve CEED Sample Paper

Check the steps to solve CEED sample paper below:

  • Open CEED official website - ceed.iitb.ac.in
  • Click on Click on a practice test link
  • Click on the 'Sample Exam Interface Link" option 
  • A log-in window will open
  • Log-in to take the exam (the log-in credentials will be given as default)
  • Read the instruction and click on the 'Next' button
  • Check the disclaimer dialogue box and click on the 'I am ready to begin' button
  • View and solve the CEED sample paper

Important Instructions for CEED Sample Paper

While solving CEED sample paper candidates need to keep the below-mentioned points in mind.

  1. The total duration of the CEED sample paper is 50 minutes
  2. The clock will be set at the server. The countdown timer in the top right corner of the screen will display the remaining time available for students to complete the examination. When the timer reaches zero, the examination will end by itself. Candidates will not be required to end or submit their papers.
  3. Candidates can click on the ">" arrow which appears on the left-hand side to collapse the question palette thereby maximizing the question window. To view the question palette again, one can click on "
  4. Aspirants can click on their "Profile" image on the top right corner of their screen to change the language during the exam for the entire question paper. On clicking the Profile image, a drop-down will appear to change the question content to the desired language.

Navigating to a Question:

To answer a question, candidates need to perform the below-mentioned steps:

  1. Click on the question number in the Question Palette at the right of their screen to go to that numbered question directly. Note that using this option does not save the answer to the current question.
  2. Click on the 'Save & Next' button to save the answer for the current question and then go to the next question.
  3. Click on the 'Mark for Review & Next' button to save the answer for the current question, mark it for review, and then go to the next question.

Answering a Question:

Procedure for answering a multiple choice type question:

  1. To select your answer, click on the button of one of the options
  2. To deselect the selected answer, click on the button of the chosen option again or click on the 'Clear Response' button
  3. To change the chosen answer, candidates need to click on the button of another option
  4. To save the answer, aspirants must click on the 'Save & Next' button
  5. To mark the question for review, click on the 'Mark for Review & Next' button.
  6. To change the answer to a question that has already been answered, first select that question for answering and then follow the procedure for answering that type of question.

Navigating through sections:

  1. Sections in this question paper are displayed on the top bar of the screen. Questions in a section can be viewed by clicking on the section name. The section one is currently viewing is highlighted.
  2. After clicking the 'Save & Next' button on the last question for a section, candidates will automatically be taken to the first question of the next section
  3. Aspirants can shuffle between sections and questions anytime during the examination as per your convenience only during the time stipulated
  4. Candidates can view the corresponding section summary as part of the legend that appears in every section above the question palette

Q:   How many sample papers do I need to solve to prepare for CEED 2025?

A:

If you start solving sample papers late in your exam preparation, you must be able to solve around 10-12 sample papers. However, if you start solving sample papers early on, it is not exactly the quantity that you are focusing on.

For instance, if you complete a chapter and solve all the relevant problems givn in the sample paper, it will also be very effective. And you can repeat this model for other topics as well. The only difference here is you are not solving the entire sample paper in one go in this case. Rather attacking it one chapter or topic at a time.

And once you complete the entire syllabus, you can then attempt the complete sample paper.

Q:   What is the right time to solve sample papers for CEED 2025?

A:

You can start solving sample papers for CEED very early on in your exam preparation. For instance, you can do the exercise after completing a chapter. All you have to do is find the relevant questions in the sample papers and start solving. As you move on in your CEED 2024 exam preparation, you the sample papers will be more useful. In fact, as you complete the syllabus, you can attempt the complete sample paper.

By solving the sample papers you can improve your problem-solving and time-management skills. Also, you can solve sample papers right up to the exam-day.

Q:   Is the CEED exam tough?

A:

The difficulty level of CEED exam has been maintained by authorities over the years. However, most design aspirants share that if difficulty level of all design entrance exams conducted for PG level courses is compared then CEED is slightly easier than NID Entrance Exam. This is primarily because the drawing questions asked in NID that are considered to be tougher than those put forth in CEED exam. Note that CEED exam is for admission to the M.Des courses offered by the eight participating colleges. Meanwhile, the NID that for the M.Des programme has three participating colleges.

Q:   Do mock tests and CEED sample papers have the sample role?

A:

No, mock tests are not the same as CEED question or sample papers. 

It is because the main purpose of the mock tests is to help the candidate get acquainted with the exam pattern and system, especially if the exam is conducted in an online mode. The mocks will allow the candidate get accustomed with the exam mode, navigation, scoring, and answering patterns. To some extent it also may help the candidate improve problem-solving and time-managment skills, which are typically the exclusive domain of CEED sample papers.

Additionally, mock tests are meant to be taken in the last few days of the exam. On the other hand, sample papers are typically solved even in the early stages of exam preparation.

Q:   How many students appear for CEED exam?

A:
A total of 6037 candidates registered for CEED 2023, out of which 4,910 candidates appeared, and 1,886 candidates qualified in the exam. By comparison, in 2020, 5,564 students took CEED exam and 1,724 qualified the exam. Common Entrance Examination for Design was given by 5,491 in 2019 and out of this number, 1,179 candidates qualified the design entrance test. Along with national-level exams like NID that and NIFT, CEED is among the most popular PG entrance exams in the country. The application form for CEED 2024 will open tentatively in the last week of September 2023.

Q:   When will the application form for CEED 2025 open?

The CEED 2025 applications opened on October 1, 2025. The application has to be filled online at ceed.iitb.ac.in.

The candidate can apply with both regular and late fees.

The candidate needs to carefully go through the brochure to check their eligibility. Note that information entered by the candidate at the time of submitting their application form will be verified at the time of counseling. IIT Roorkee doesn't offer PhD in Design course through CEED. It only offers a MDes in Industrial Design.
 
Admission to the M.Des program will be based on CEED 2025 merit rank. The candidate will have to apply directly to the participating college once results are declared.

 The CEED score is valid for a period of one year from the date of declaration of the result. This means you can use CEED 2025 scores for admission in the current academic session only. You can't use for admission in the next year.
