CEED 2025 - IIT Bombay will conduct the CEED 2025 exam on January 19, 2025.

The exam will be held in 27 cities across India. The CEED 2025 question paper will be 3 hours long and have two parts — Part A and Part B. Part A will be computer-based and include 41 questions. Meanwhile, Part B will be offline-based and include 5 questions.

Part B answer booklets will be evaluated only if the candidates meet the CEED cut-off for Part A.

Admit cards for CEED 2025 will be available for download from January 3, 2025 (1 pm), onward. On exam day, the candidate must bring the admit card and proof of valid photo ID.

Q:   Is the CEED exam tough?

A:

The difficulty level of CEED exam has been maintained by authorities over the years. However, most design aspirants share that if difficulty level of all design entrance exams conducted for PG level courses is compared then CEED is slightly easier than NID Entrance Exam. This is primarily because the drawing questions asked in NID that are considered to be tougher than those put forth in CEED exam. Note that CEED exam is for admission to the M.Des courses offered by the eight participating colleges. Meanwhile, the NID that for the M.Des programme has three participating colleges.

Q:   What is the application fee of CEED 2025?

A:

IIT Bombay has revised the application fee for CEED.

The updated application fee that candidates have to pay an application fee when applying for the CEED exam is shown below.

Women candidates - INR 2000

SC, ST, PwD candidates - INR 2000

All other candidates - INR 4000

The candidate will have to pay a fee as per the category they belong. If the candidate selects the wrong category and pay the wrong feels, he or she may be disqualified. So, care must be taken when selecting ones category.

Q:   When will the CEED 2025 exam be conducted?

A:

IIT Bombay will conduct the CEED 2025 exam on January 19, 2025 (9 am - 12 noon).

The exam will includ two sections - Part A and Part B. Part A of the exam will be administered in a computer-based mode, whereas Part B will be held offline. It is mandatory for candidates to qualify for Part A. 

If the candidate fails to qualify for Part A, his or her Part B answers booklet will not be evaluated. 

The final score cum merit list of CEED 2025 will be calculated by giving weightage to both Part A and Part B.

Q:   When will the application form for CEED 2025 open?

A:

The CEED 2025 applications opened on October 1, 2025. The application has to be filled online at ceed.iitb.ac.in.

The candidate can apply with both regular and late fees.

All the details pertaining to the CEED 2025 application form has been updated on the admission portals, including the information brochure. The candidate needs to carefully go through the brochure to check their eligibility. Note that information entered by the candidate at the time of submitting their application form will be verified at the time of counseling. Any candidate who doesn’t meet the criteria will be disqualified.

What is the CEED exam?

The Common Entrance Exam for Design or CEED is a national-level exam conducted by IIT Bombay for admission to the M.Des course offered by the following institutes: IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Kanpur, IIT Roorkee, and IIT Jodhpur.

The exam is conducted once every academic year.  

Note that the role of IIT Bombay is limited to the conduct of the CEED exam.

Also, it will not conduct any counseling or Joint Seat Allotment process.

Instead, the candidates who are allocated a merit rank in CEED will have to apply directly to the participating institute based on their scores.

The participating institutes will shortlist candidates based on their merit rank and may conduct further admission rounds before preparing the merit list for CEED 2025 admission. 

Q:   How many students appear for CEED exam?

A:
A total of 6037 candidates registered for CEED 2023, out of which 4,910 candidates appeared, and 1,886 candidates qualified in the exam. By comparison, in 2020, 5,564 students took CEED exam and 1,724 qualified the exam. Common Entrance Examination for Design was given by 5,491 in 2019 and out of this number, 1,179 candidates qualified the design entrance test. Along with national-level exams like NID that and NIFT, CEED is among the most popular PG entrance exams in the country. The application form for CEED 2024 will open tentatively in the last week of September 2023.

Q:   Is CEED a national-level exam?

A:

Yes, CEED is a national-level exam for admission to M.Des and PhD courses offered by participating colleges. The exam is conducted by IIT Bombay.

Note that, in addition to the participating colleges, a number of other institutes, known as result-sharing institutes, will also use CEED scores for admission purposes.

The CEED 2025 exam will be conducted on Janaury 19, 2025.

Q:   Can I prepare for CEED 2025 without coaching?

A:

It is very much possible to prepare for CEED without coaching. But before you embark on exam preparation on your own, you need the conviction that you can do it. If you are not convinced yourself and only decide to forgo coaching on the advice of others, the journey may be difficult.

If you prepare for the exam on your own, you need to be serious and plan the preparation smartly. For instance, after going through the syllabus, you must be able to decide the difficulty level, time it will take to cover the syllabus, and do revision. 

Remember, there are many instances of toppers who managed to ace the CEED exam without the aid of any coaching. Further, the final outcome may not depend on whether you do coaching or not, but the quality of your preparation.

Q:   When should I start my preparation for CEED 2025?

A:

The CEED 2025 exam will be conducted on January 19, 2025. 

So, the candidate has a three months or so to prepare for the exam. Given the CEED 2025 syllabus is of moderate to difficult, you would ideally need 6 months or so to prepare for the exam. 

That being said, if your fundamentals are strong, you can cover the syllabus in less time. Before starting you preparation, go through the syllabus and pattern, and draft a plan. Once the plan is ready, get going with full guns blazing.

Note that to fully prepare for the exam, you need to solve sample papers and take mock tests.

Q:   How many seats are there in CEED?

A:
Seats available for CEED admission vary from one institute to the other (that accept the exam scores for admission). For e. g, IIT Hyderabad has 30 seats, while IISc Bangalore has 18 seats. Candidates are informed that CEED is just a qualifying exam. Thus, any aspirant who clears CEED exam may have to appear in further admission rounds that may be conducted by the participating college. The application process at the participating colleges typically open once the CEED entrance exam results are announced.

Q:   What is the validity of the CEED 2025 scorecard?

A:

The scorecard of CEED 2025 will be released on March 10, 2025; the candidate can download the scorecard till June 11, 2025.

The validity of the scorecard will be one year from the date of its issue. Using the scorecard, the candidate can apply for admission to both CEED 2025 participating and result-sharing institutes.

The scorecard will carry details like the Qualifying status and Part A marks. Open & category-wise Merit rank, and Part B & Total marks will be issued only if the candidate has qualified Part A.

Q:   Can I use previous years' CEED score for admission purpose?

A:

 The CEED score is valid for a period of one year from the date of declaration of the result. This means you can use CEED 2025 scores for admission in the current academic session only. You can't use for admission in the next year.

Likewise, you can't use CEED 2024 scores for admission in the upcoming session.

Note that the scorecard will be available for download from March 10-June 11, 2025.

Q:   What is the procedure for preparing the CEED 2025 result?

A:

The result of CEED 2025 will be prepared by giving weightage to the Part A and Part B sections. Part A will carry 25% weightage, whereas Part B will be worth 75% weightage. 

CEED FINAL Score = 0.25 x (Marks obtained in Part A) + 0.75 x (Marks obtained in Part B)

Note that it is mandatory for candidates to qualify for Part A to be included in the CEED 2025 merit list. In case the candidate fails to qualify for Part A, his or her Part B answer booklets will not be evaluated.

CEED Application Form 2025

The application form for CEED 2025 opened online on October 1, 2024. The application link is provided above. 

The CEED 2025 application is for admission to the M.Des and Ph.D. courses offered by participating colleges.

How to fill out CEED 2025 application form

  • Online registration - The candidate has to get registered through the official portal by entering their email ID, name, date of birth, etc. On successful registration, an applicant account will be created. 
  • Check Eligibility - The candidate has to undergo an eligibility check process, wherein he/she has to enter their qualifying exam, passing year, and mobile number.
  • Fill in the form - Next fill in personal, academic, and contact details. The candidate also has to select THREE exam centres, in the order of priority.
  • Upload documents – The candidate has to upload a photo, signature, and qualifying exam certificates in the prescribed format.
  • Payment of the exam fee: After confirming that the application form is complete in all respects, pay the exam fee online using net banking, credit, or debit cards.

Note that the CEED application can be filled with both regular and late fees. The late fee is INR 500.

Q:   Can I fill out the CEED 2025 application form with late fee?

A:

Yes, there will be an option to fill out the CEED 2025 application form with late fees.

The window to submit applications with late fees will be open from November 1-8, 2024.

Candidates applying for CEED 2025 after regular registration window closes will have to pay a late fee of INR 500. The late fee will have to be paid at the time of filling out the form. 

Note that once the late application windows close, the candidate will not be able to apply for CEED 2025 any longer.

Q:   What is the eligibility criteria for appearing in the CEED 2025 entrance exam?

A:

To appear in the CEED 2025 exam, the candidate must have passed a degree, Diploma, or postgraduate degree exam of minimum three years. There is no limit on the upper age limit or number of attempts for appearing in CEED. The eligibility criteria that candidates need to meet for appearing in the CEED have been explained below. Qualifying exam - The candidate must have completed a degree, Diploma, or postgraduate programme of a minimum of THREE years (after 10+2). Or, Appearing for the final exam of such a programme by July 2025 or, Must have passed the GD Arts Diploma programme (10+5) level by July 2024. Age limit - No upper age limit. Number of Attempts - The CEED exam can be attempted any number of times. It is incumbent on the candidate to carefully go through the eligibility criteria before filling out the CEED application form. It is because if the candidate doesn't meet any of the criteria, then he or she can be disqualified at any stage of the admission process.

Q:   What is the last date to fill out the CEED 2025 application form?

A:

IIT Bombay has released the admission schedule for the CEED 2025 exam, including the application start and last dates, at the time of the release of the application form.

The CEED application form is open from October 1-31, 2024.

The candidate also has the option to apply with late fees of INR 500 from November 1-8, 2024.

Note that IIT Bombay may also extend the last dates for submission of the form.

Q:   How can I check the status of my CEED 2025 registration form?

Candidates can know the status of their CEED 2025 application form on the official registration portals of the exam. In a situation wherein any more information or document is required then the CEED office gets in touch with aspirants through their registered email. It may be note that complete applications will be rejected.

The application form for CEED 2025 will open tentatively in October 2024. The candidate must carefully go through the step-wise process to fill out the form.

CEED Eligibility Criteria 2025

The eligibility criteria that candidates need to meet for appearing in the CEED 2025 exam have been explained in the table below.

Q:   Who determines the eligibility criteria for CEED 2025?

A:

The candidate may note that the eligibility criteria for appearing in the CEED 2025 exam and the eligibility criteria for admission to the M.Des programme are not the same.

The eligibility criteria for appearing in the CEED 2025 exam will be determined by IIT Bombay. The institute will verify all the documents submitted the candidate during the application process. 

Meanwhile, the participating colleges will also determine the eligibility of the candidate during the counseling process, which will be conducted institute-wise. The candidate will have to furnish original documents, which will be used to determined the veracity of information furnished by the candidate in the CEED 2025 application form.

Q:   Are CEED 2025 eligibility criteria the same as those required by the participating colleges?

A:

The candidate may note that IIT Bombay is only responsible for conducting the CEED 2025 exam. Unlike UCEED 2025, it will not conduct any Joint Seat Allotment.  

This means the eligibility criteria prescribed by IIT Bombay is limited to appearing in the CEED 2025 exam.

Further, the participating institutes of CEED 2025 will individually determine the eligibility criteria for the M.Des courses. The eligibility criteria will be uploaded on the admission portals of these institutes.

Q:   What happens if I apply for CEED 2025 but do not meet the eligibility criteria?

A:

The eligibility criteria for appearing in the CEED 2025 exam is prescribed by IIT Bombay. The criteria are outlined in the information brochure. The candidate needs to carefully go through the criteria and only apply for admission if they meet the requirements.

Note that if the candidate fails to meet the CEED 2025 eligibility criteria, he or she could be disquafied at any stage of the admission process. Also, the participating colleges will have a document verification session, where all documents will be cross-checked.

Q:   Can I get admission in M.Des programme if I do not meet Part A cut-off?

A:

IIT Bombay will release the qualifying cut-off for Part A on February 6, 2025.

Note that cut-off is released in the form of mean and standard deviation.

In the last edition of the exam, the mean and standard deviation for Part-A (CEED 2024) were 41.90 and 16.72, respectively.

The qualifying cut-off is the minimum marks a candidate needs to score in the paper to get shortlisted. Note that Part B answer booklets will only be evaluated if the candidate gets shortlisted.

So, if you don’t meet Part A cut-off marks, you will not get shortlisted and you Part B answer booklets will not be evaluated. Also, note that only shortlisted candidates will be assigned a merit rank in CEED 2025.

Q:   I am not able to complete CEED 2025 syllabus. What should I do?

A:

The CEED syllabus can be daunting for some candidates. So, if you are not able to complete it, don'tpanic. The trick in these situations is to first focus on the easy topics and complete the first. If you manage that your anxiety levels will automatically come down. Next move on the moderate difficult topics. If you are able to tackle them, you can start working on the difficult ones. If you get stuck with a topic or problem, it is best to not spend prodigious time trying to master it. Instead move on to the next topic. You can revisit the difficult topic, if you have time.

Q:   Will the question paper include questions from all topics mentioned in CEED syllabus?

A:

The topics listed in the CEED syllabus is indicative in nature. Also, the syllabus is exhaustive in the sense that questions may be asked from all or some of the topics. So, the candidate can’t skip any topics when preparing for CEED. 

The candidate is urged to go through the previous years' question papers to get an idea about the paper structure and types of questions asked. That being said, keep in mind that the syllabus has been revised for CEED.

Q:   How can I develop my drawing skills for CEED 2025?

A:

The sketching part of CEED will include stages like - representation, in the form of geometric figures like lines, squares, and triangles, outline drawing, detailing, and shading. If you are a beginner, focus more on outline drawing, representation, and the easier aspects, rather than focusing on detailing and shading. As you become more adept, you can start adding nuances to your drawing. When making a sketch, focus on the following points:

Q:   Is there negative marking in CEED 2025?

A:

The CEED question paper has two sections - Part A and Part B. Part A will include NAT, MSQ, and MCQ questions, and there is negative marking for M.Sc and MCQ-type questions. However, there is no negative marking for NAT-type questions.

Meanwhile, Part B will be a subjective paper and will have no negative marking.

The candidate needs to bear this things in mind when preparing, and also attempting the CEED exam.

Q:   Will admission to B.Tech in B.Des program through the UCEED 2025 exam?

A:

The Department of Design, IITD, is set ton introduce a B.Tech in Design program from the upcoming admission session.

It will have an intake of 20 students in the first batch. It is a 4 year program. The intake will be based on JEE advanced merit rank.

The aspirants also must have qualified the design aptitute test, namely UCEED.

Q:   What is the weightage of CEED Part A exam?

A:

In Part A of the CEED exam, candidates have to attempt 41 questions. Part A of the CEED exam includes MSQs, MCQs, and NAT questions. Maximum marks that aspirants can secure in the CEED Part A exam are 100. Its weightage is 25%.

Part A will be a computer-based exam of 1 hour duration. Note that the CEED exam has two parts - Part A and Part B. Both parts are mandatory.

How to Prepare for CEED 2025

The CEED 2025 question paper will be designed to evaluate the visual perception, creativity, drawing skills, logical reasoning, and communication skills of the candidate. Also, note that the CEED exam is kind of a design aptitude test. 

Here are some useful tips to prepare for the CEED 2025 entrance exam.

  1. Start your preparation early - One major mistake many candidates make is to start their exam preparation with very little time left for the exam. As you can understand, this is not the perfect recipe for success. So, start your preparation early.
  2. Follow the revised syllabus and pattern - The syllabus for the CEED 2025 exam has been revised. So, you need to follow the new syllabus.
  3. Solve sample papers, but with caution - Note that the sample papers can no longer be followed blindly, given the syllabus has changed. You need to only solve those problems that are still a part of the revised syllabus.
  4. Take notes during the study - These notes will not only help you stay focused and capture all key and sticking points but come the exam week, they will be most suited for quick revision.
  5. Take mock tests - These mocks will help you fix last-minute and silly errors.

Q:   Can I prepare for CEED by practicing previous year question papers only?

A:

Since CEED is a general aptitude test, you can benefit greatly by practicing previous year question papers. Also, after practicing the papers, it is highly important to analyse your strong and weak areas for the exam and then work on them accordingly. 

But that being said, you can’t prepare for the CEED only on the strength of solving the sample papers. You need to read the text books to learn the concepts, understand the various dynamic. Note that unless your theoretical knowledge is sound, you won’t be able to feel truly confident.

Q:   Will CEED 2025 participating colleges conduct further admission rounds?

Candidates may note that qualifying in CEED is no guarantee for admission to any program. 

After qualifying in the exam, the candidate must apply to the respective institutes for admission and fulfil other requirements, such as tests and/or interviews. Each participating institute may have its own set of eligibility criteria and admission rounds.

CEED 2025 Admission Process

The step-wise admission process for CEED 2025 is given below.

Step 1: Submit the duly filled application form

The candidate had to fill out the form at the official admission portal - ceed.iitb.ac.in. One had to use only genuine and verifiable information. This is because details provided by the candidate will be verified at the time of counseling.

If any information is found to be incorrect or misleading, the candidate may be disqualified.

Step 2: Download the admit card

The admit card is released for successfully registered candidates. Download the admit card by entering your email ID and password.

On the day of the CEED 2025 exam, you will also need a valid photo ID proof along with the admit card.

Step 3: Appear in CEED 2025

The CEED question paper has two mandatory sections – A and B. Part A will comprise objective-type questions, while Part B will be subjective-type. Note that Part B answer booklets will only be evaluated if the candidate qualifies Part A. The qualifying marks for Part A will be released before the declaration of CEED 2024 results.

Step 4: Check CEED Result

The results will be declared for all candidates appearing in the CEED 2025 exam. However, only such candidates who qualify in the entrance exam will be issued merit ranks and will be eligible to participate in the counseling process.

Step 5: Apply to CEED-participating colleges

Clearing the CEED exam does not guarantee admission to any of the colleges accepting CEED exam scores. The candidate needs to apply to participating institutes based on their CEED 2025 scores. The participating institutes will conduct counseling and seat allotment at an institute level.

Q:   Can I apply to PhD courses based on CEED 2025 scores?

A:

IIT Bombay conducts the CEED entrance exam for M.Des and PhD courses.

So, yes, you can take the CEED 2025 exam if you plan to get admission to the PhD program offered by participating colleges. 

Fill out the CEED 2025 application form before the last date; applications are currently open.

If you qualify in the CEED 2025 exam, you will have to apply directly to the participaiting institute. Note that the institute may have additional admission rounds or eligibility criteria.

Q:   Will CEED 2025 have partial marking?

Part A of the CEED 2025 question paper will have three types of questions:

  • NAT (Numerical Answer Type): 8 questions
  • MSQ (Multiple Select Question): 10 questions
  • MCQ (Multiple Choice Question): 26 questions 

The MSQ and MCQ type questions will have partical scoring.

For instance, each NAT question carries 4 marks. Also, each MSQ may have one or more than one correct choice(s) out of the four given.

CEED Answer Key and Question Paper 2025

The draft answer key of CEED 2025 for Part A will be released within a day or two of the conduct of the entrance exam. The answer key will contain the official answers to all the questions asked in Part A. The UCEED 2025 question paper will be released along with the draft key.

However, no keys will be for Part B. This is because there are no model solutions for the subjective questions.

The candidate can consult the UCEED 2025 question paper and answer key to first calculate the number of correct attempts, and then the probable score.  

  • The answer key and question papers were released on the official website.
  • Candidates had the option to report discrepancies, if any, against the draft key.
  • Comments or objections against the draft key have to be filed through the candidate portal within the given deadline.
  • To make an objection (or complaint), use the Master Question Paper, which will be uploaded on the official website. 
  • The response of candidates for Part A will be available for download only till the result of the CEED 2025 exam is declared.

The final answer key will be released after considering the comments/ feedback of candidates.

 

Q:   How many sample papers do I need to solve to prepare for CEED 2025?

A:

If you start solving sample papers late in your exam preparation, you must be able to solve around 10-12 sample papers. However, if you start solving sample papers early on, it is not exactly the quantity that you are focusing on.

For instance, if you complete a chapter and solve all the relevant problems givn in the sample paper, it will also be very effective. And you can repeat this model for other topics as well. The only difference here is you are not solving the entire sample paper in one go in this case. Rather attacking it one chapter or topic at a time.

And once you complete the entire syllabus, you can then attempt the complete sample paper.

Q:   What is the right time to solve sample papers for CEED 2025?

You can start solving sample papers for CEED very early on in your exam preparation. For instance, you can do the exercise after completing a chapter. All you have to do is find the relevant questions in the sample papers and start solving. As you move on in your CEED 2024 exam preparation, you the sample papers will be more useful. In fact, as you complete the syllabus, you can attempt the complete sample paper.

By solving the sample papers you can improve your problem-solving and time-management skills. Also, you can solve sample papers right up to the exam-day.

Q:   Can I also download the solutions of CEED question papers?

A:

IIT Bombay releases the answer keys of the CEED exam along with the question paper. The answer keys contain the answers to the questions asked in the entrance exam. 

So, if you download the question paper and the corresponding answer key, you can use them for practice. Once you solve a problem, refer to the answer key and check if you have managed to correctly solve the problem.

Currently, the CEED admission portal has question papers starting from 2010. Meanwhile, the answer keys are available from 2020 onward.

But note that IIT Bombay will not release the detailed solution to a question, but release only the answer option. 

To get the detailed solutions, you have to check out with the coaching websites and other online sources.

Q:   When will the CEED 2025 question papers be released?

A:

IIT Bombay will release the question paper for the CEED 2025 exam within a day or two or the conduct of the entrance exam. The question paper will be released alongside the draft CEED answer key.

CEED Result 2025

The results of CEED 2025 will be declared tentatively in March 2025.

The results will be released online at the admission portal of CEED 2025 - ceed.iitb.ac.in.  

Note that the result will include the Part A marks for all candidates. However, the Part B marks and CEED 2025 merit ranks will only be released for shortlisted candidates.

Part B is descriptive and as such, it is evaluated holistically based on the criteria mentioned in the question paper. The evaluated Answer Booklet for Part B is not released to the candidate. Also, there is no provision to re-evaluate either Part A or Part B. 

  • The scorecard of CEED 2025 will be released in March 2025; the last date to download the scorecard will be around the 2nd week of June 2025.  
  • The scorecard can be downloaded through the candidate portal. Hard copies of the scorecard are not sent to the candidate.
  • The FINAL merit list of CEED 2025 will be preared by giving 25% weightage to Part A and 75% weightage to Part B.
  • The CEED 2025 scorecard will be valid for ONE year from the date of declaration of results.
  • The scorecard can't be used as proof of date of birth, category, or disability status.

Q:   Who topped the CEED 2023 exam?

A:

The CEED 2023 exam was topped by Khyati Rathor, who secured the AIR 1. She secured 68.85 marks in the exam, out of a total of 100 marks. The 2nd position was occupied by Simon George Cherian, who scored 66.63 marks. The final place in the podium, of AIR 1 rank, was occupied by Aritra Guha Ray. 

The CEED 2023 exam was held on January 22, 2023. The results of the exam was declared on March 7, 2023.

Q:   When will the admission cut-off of CEED be released?

A:

IIT Bombay only releases the qualifying cut-off of CEED Part A. It will, however, not release any admission cut-off. 

The qualifying cut-off for Part A will be released on February 6, 2025. The cut-off will be released in the form of Mean Deviation and Standard Deviation.

The mean and standard deviation for Part-A (CEED 2024) were 41.90 and 16.72, respectively.

Part B answer booklets will be evaluated only if the candidate meets the Part A cut-off.

Meanwhile,  the admission cut-off would be released by individual participating institutes at the time of seat allotment. The admission cut-off is the minimum score one needs to get admission.

Q:   What is the difference between CEED and UCEED exam?

Both CEED and UCEED exams are conducted by IIT Bombay. However, CEED scores are used to shortlist candidates for admission to the M.Des courses, whereas UCEED is an entrance exam for admission to the B. Des course. IIT Bombay also conducts a Joint Admission Process (or counseling) for UCEED qualified candidates. However, IIT Bombay doesn't conduct any joint counseling for CEED qualified candidates. CEED Cutoff 2025

IIT Bombay wiill released the UCEED 2025 cutoff marks for Part A around the 2nd week of February 2025. The cut-off marks for Part A will be category-specific and used to shortlist candidates.

Note that Part B answer booklets will only be evaluated for shortlisted candidates.

Key points related to CEED 2025 Cut-off marks for Part A

  1. The cutoff marks are released only for Part A; no cutoffs are released for Part B 
  2. The category-specific cutoff marks are calculated using a pre-defined formula.
  3.  Part B answer booklet is evaluated only for shortlisted candidates or such candidates who meet the cutoff in their respective categories
  4. Part B is evaluated manually.

The admission cut-off for CEED 2025 will be determined by the participating institutions at the time of seat allotment and is different from the Part A cut-off. The admission cut-off is the minimum rank the candidate needs to secure in their category to get admission.

The cut-off (admission) would be determined based on factors like seat intake, total applications received for admission, the category of the candidate, etc.

Q:   Will the admission cut-off of CEED 2025 be released by IIT Bombay?

A:

IIT Bombay will not release any admission cut-offs for CEED 2025. Note that unlike UCEED, IIT Bombay doesn’t conduct any Joint Seat Allotment.

In fact, IIT Bombay is only responsible for conduct of the CEED 2025 exam and declaration of results.

Candidates will have to apply to the participating institute themselves based on their CEED 2025 scores. These participating institutes will then prepare admission cut-off based on parameters like number of applicants, seat intake, category under which admission is sought, etc.

Note that the Part A cut-off for CEED 2025 will be released tentatively in the 2nd week of February 2025.

No, mock tests are not the same as CEED question or sample papers. 

It is because the main purpose of the mock tests is to help the candidate get acquainted with the exam pattern and system, especially if the exam is conducted in an online mode. The mocks will allow the candidate get accustomed with the exam mode, navigation, scoring, and answering patterns. To some extent it also may help the candidate improve problem-solving and time-managment skills, which are typically the exclusive domain of CEED sample papers.

Additionally, mock tests are meant to be taken in the last few days of the exam. On the other hand, sample papers are typically solved even in the early stages of exam preparation.

CEED Counseling 2025

Note that unlike UCEED 2025, IIT Bombay will not conduct any Joint Seat Allotment for CEED 2025 qualified candidates.

Instead, the participating institutes of CEED 2025 will conduct counseling at an institute level. Candidates who are assigned a merit rank in CEED 2025 will have to apply directly to the relevant institute through their admission portal.

The counseling registration form will open soon after CEED 2025 results are declared. 

To apply for admission, the candidate has to go to the admission portal of the CEED 2025 participating institute and fill in the counseling registration form, upload their scorecards and any relevant documents.

The participating institutes will shortlist candidates based on their CEED 2025 merit ranks and may conduct further admission rounds, including personal interviews. 

The seat allotment will be based on the final merit rank prepared by the institute. 

Note that in addition to the participating institutes, CEED 2025 scores will also be accepted by institutes like the World University of Design (WUD) to fill UG and PG seats. Applicants can apply to these institutes once CEED 2025 results are announced.
