Birla Institute of Science & Technology conducts the Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT) exam every year to provide admissions into the undergraduate and integrated courses offered by various institute campuses in Goa, Hyderabad, and Pilani. By checking the BITSAT analysis, the candidates can understand what to expect from the examination and be well prepared for it. BITSAT 2025 is expected to be held in two sessions. Q:   What will be the medium of the BITSAT question paper?

A:

The authorities will conduct BITSAT as a computer-based test. As per the official BITSAT exam pattern, the entrance examination will be held in English medium only. Candidates will not have the option to choose their preferred language for the examination. All of the questions and instructions of BITSAT paper will be in English. However, if the candidates face any problems during questions, they can seek the help of the invigilators in the examination centre. Candidates are advised to be ready to attempt the examination in English.

Q:   What is the marking scheme of BITSAT?

A:

BITS Pilani will soon announce the marking scheme along with the BITSAT 2025 exam pattern. For every correct answer, the candidates will be awarded 3 marks. However, if the candidate marks the wrong answer, then 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. No marks will be deducted for unattempted questions. Before the examination, the candidates are advised to carefully check the marking scheme, so that they are aware of how they will be marked for their answers. Since there is negative marking, the candidates are advised to leave the questions unattempted, if they are not sure of the answers.

Q:   Which subjects do I have to study for BITSAT?

A:

The authorities will soon release the BITSAT 2025 syllabus. As per the syllabus, the examination will consist of questions from subjects and topics of Physics, Chemistry, English Proficiency, Logical Reasoning and Mathematics/Biology. It is to be noted that the BITSAT syllabus will be similar to the 11th and 12th standard syllabus. All candidates are advised to become familiar with the syllabus to be well-prepared for the entrance examination.

BITSAT 2023 Paper Analysis

As per the students who attempted BITSAT 2023, the paper was moderately difficult. 

  • Overall Question Paper Difficulty Level: Moderate
  • Mathematics Section Difficulty Level: Moderate to Difficult

BITSAT 2022 Paper Analysis

BITSAT 2022 paper for shift 1 was easy to moderate in terms of difficulty level. Most students found Mathematics to be comparatively more difficult than Physics and Chemistry. Physics and Chemistry included NCERT-level questions. The mathematics section was lengthy. English and Logical reasoning were relatively easy. 

  • Overall Question Paper Difficulty Level: Moderate to Easy, NCERT level questions were asked.
  • Mathematics Section difficulty Level: Moderate and lengthy if compared to JEE Main 2022.
  • Physics section difficulty level: Easy to Moderate
  • Chemistry section difficulty level: Easy
  • English and Logical Reasoning: Easy

Previous Year's BITSAT Students' Reaction

Harshit Gupta said that Physics and Chemistry sections consisted of NCERT-level questions. Mathematics was comparatively more difficult than JEE Main. He found English and Logical Reasoning the easiest. Overall the difficulty level was moderate.

Another aspirant named Subham said that the BITSAT was of moderate level. The Mathematics section of BITSAT was tougher than JEE Main Mathematics paper. Physics and Chemistry could be attempted easily within the given timeline.

Abhisekh Singh said that all the subjects (PCM) including English and Logical Reasoning were easy if compared to JEE Main. The questions could be easily completed and did not much time. 

According to Lakshay, the BITSAT paper was moderate. Mathematics was difficult and lengthy if compared to Physics and Chemistry. The Mathematics section consumed more time therefore managing time is important.
