What should be my preparation strategy to qualify BITSAT exam?

To qualify BITSAT the students are advised to create a strong preparation plan. Firstly, the students should check and be familiar with the BITSAT exam pattern and syllabus. This will allow the students to understand how the examination will be held and know the subjects and topics that have to be studied. A proper timetable has to be created that will allow the students to finish the syllabus beforehand and give them enough time for revision. Mock tests and sample papers should be attempted regularly so that they are able to understand their weak areas and work on them. Students should also ensure that they get enough rest and are healthy fo the examination.

How important are mock tests for BITSAT preparation?

Candidates are advised to attempt mock tests regularly while preparing for BITSAT. Through the mock tests, the candidates will be able to understand how the entrance examination will be held. Mock tests also allow the candidates to assess their preparation progress and identify their commonly made mistakes. After identifying their commonly made mistakes, the candidates can work on it so that the same is not made during the examination. Mock tests also help the candidates to build their time management skills.

Do I have to check the BITSAT exam pattern for preparation?

Yes. BITSAT exam pattern is considered to be an essential part of the preparation process and the candidates are advised to refer to it. Candidates will be able to understand how the examination will be held through the exam pattern of BITSAT. By knowing how the examination will be conducted and its important details, the candidates will be well prepared for the examination. The official BITSAT exam pattern is now available online. Along with the exam pattern, the candidates are also advised to check the official BITSAT syllabus.

What are the sections in the BITSAT paper?

BITSAT paper will consist of four sections - Part I (Physics), Part II (Chemistry), Part III (English Proficiency and Logical Reasoning) and Part IV (Mathematics or Biology). The questions will be prepared based on the various topics of these sections and will assess the candidate's aptitude in the subject. For a higher chance of securing good marks, the candidates are advised to attempt all of the questions in the sections. However, since there is negative marking, the candidates will have to be careful while selecting their answer.

What are the BITSAT additional questions?

The authorities will allow the candidates to answer additional questions, if they are able to complete the 130 questions the BITSAT paper before the duration of the examination ends. There will be 12 additional questions that the candidates will be able to attempt within the remaining time. It is to be noted that the additional questions will be from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology sections and Logical Reasoning sections. From each subject, 3 additional questions will be prepared. Candidates who attempt the additional questions will not be allowed to go back and correct their previously answered 130 questions.

What is the marking scheme of BITSAT?

BITS Pilani will soon announce the marking scheme along with the BITSAT 2025 exam pattern. For every correct answer, the candidates will be awarded 3 marks. However, if the candidate marks the wrong answer, then 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. No marks will be deducted for unattempted questions. Before the examination, the candidates are advised to carefully check the marking scheme, so that they are aware of how they will be marked for their answers. Since there is negative marking, the candidates are advised to leave the questions unattempted, if they are not sure of the answers.

BITSAT sample papers will allow the candidates to be fully prepared for the examination. Since the examination is held in different slots, the question sets will differ for the candidates. Q: Will BITSAT be held online?

Yes. BITSAT will be held online i.e., as a computer-based test. The authorities will not conduct any other mode of examination. As per the BITSAT exam pattern, the candidates will have to select the correct option for the respective question from the available options. Candidates will have to be present at the examination centre, which will be allotted as per the preferences submitted in the BITSAT application form. The details regarding the allotted exam centre will be released through the BITSAT admit card.

Q: What will be the medium of the BITSAT question paper?

The authorities will conduct BITSAT as a computer-based test. As per the official BITSAT exam pattern, the entrance examination will be held in English medium only. Candidates will not have the option to choose their preferred language for the examination. All of the questions and instructions of BITSAT paper will be in English. However, if the candidates face any problems during questions, they can seek the help of the invigilators in the examination centre.
