The private Thakur Institute of Aviation Technology (TIAT) was founded in 2006. The private Thakur Institute of Aviation Technology (TIAT) offers the Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University-accredited Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) program, a B.Sc. program, and an industrial Science diploma. Q:   What are the fees for A.M.E. programmes at Thakur Institute of Aviation Technology?

A:

Established in 2006, TIAT is a private aviation technology institute. Kandivali East, Mumbai, Maharashtra-based Institute of Aviation Safety has received approval from both the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) of the Government of India, New Delhi, and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). Thakur Institute of Aviation Technology offers the B.Sc. program, industrial Science diploma, and Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) program, which is accredited by Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University. The admission process is merit-based. The application form for admission to TIAT is available at the college office and on the official college website. Upon successfully completing the training program, students receive a Certificate of Recognition. Numerous aviation organizations come to this institute to select candidates on campus; however, the selection process is based only on the students' academic performance during their studies and the number of DGCA module exams they pass. The college's brochure makes nice-sounding claims about placements at airlines like Emirates, Singapore Airlines, Qatar Airlines, and so on, but those claims are not at all accurate.

TIAT, Mumbai offers a two-year on-campus Diploma in aircraft maintenance engineering. Applications for admission to the two-year, full-time Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Program must have been submitted through an accredited board at the intermediate or 10+2 level. There is a 1000 rupee admission fee. Additionally, the annual tuition is 3.25 lakhs.

It has good infrastructure, but the management needs to be improved.
Placements: The college is not so good for placements. During admission, they guarantee us jobs. But it is totally different from what they say. It depends on your hard work. But the good part is that you will have a chance to get a job in Europe.
Infrastructure: Our college has one of the best infrastructures and air-conditioned classrooms. The classrooms have 2 big digital screens. The college has both digital and normal libraries for students.
Faculty: It is not so difficult to pass the exams. 13 modules need to be cleared, which depends on the category you select. All exams are conducted by EASA (European Aviation Safety and Agency). The passing percentage is 75%. To be eligible for exams, one should have 90% attendance.

It is a great college to pursue aviation course.
Placements: As I am studying now, our college provides us with actual environment training. In companies like GoAir and Air India, we are allowed to gain hands-on practice on actual aircraft and real-time experience. For placements, many companies visit our college like Indigo, SpiceJet, Emirates, etc.
Infrastructure: Facilities of the laboratory are very eminent here, and there are also a virtual reality lab and a flight simulator. Our college also has a well-maintained hangar. It has a model of Boeing 747 aircraft where students can work upon and study about its parts and functioning. There are 3 to 4 hostels, and out of which, some hostels are well-maintained and clean. Our college has a good cafe and a canteen, which serve food at affordable prices.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are very helpful in guiding the students, and their explanation is also very good. Their method of teaching is good. As there are good teachers, it is easy to understand. Knowledge of the teachers is also good as they are well-experienced. Some professors have worked in the industry for many years.
Other: It is a great course in the industry to start a career. As many aircraft going to available in the future, job opportunities are going to increase. In the aviation industry also, you can always aspire to make your career. I wish that students must be provided with more practical training along with the theoretical training so that they will have the hands-on practice to understand well and also the outcome would be better with great interest of the students in studying. Many events are organised at our college. You will frequently notice a lot of film shootings inside the campus.

The college is too great for other activities and studies. The placement is also good in 2016/2017.
Placements: Many people from my college are working in AirIndia, Jet Airways, Qatar Airways. They get the maximum salary of 1.2 LPA to 1.3 LPA for the post of AME engineering. The technician gets salary up to 20 to 30 thousand. We visited AirIndia hanger in 1st year, and the experience of the visit is too good. We studied many things about Aircraft. The staff are too good for expanding the things in Aircraft. We have great experience in our college of study. The Thakur Institute is number one college in India for studying the AME course. One of my seniors was the topper in 2016 in the 1st and 2nd paper. After completion of college, the companies come to our college for taking some student for OJT (On Job Training). We should have luck for studying in this college in the great environment.
Infrastructure: The college is too much huge for study. There is a great hall for assembling. The infrastructure looks too nice. The library is too big to study, and there are plenty of books for students to study. There is an E-library in our college. In our college, there is a coffee area where all students gather and get some rest with our parents. The canteen of our college is also good for having some meals.
Faculty: The instructors are well-educated for studying the subjects. Our teachers are too much friendly with all students. There are separate chairs and branches for students to study. All classes are equipped with AC, projectors of student and CCTV camera for the safety of students.

I suggest you take admission to this college. It is a wonderful college.
Placements: A top role offered is aircraft maintenance engineer. The salary package offered to the students is average. Top recruiting companies like GMR, etc., visit our college for placements. Almost 100% of students from our course got an internship in the European Union Aviation Safety Agency and Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
Infrastructure: Our college provides a Wi-Fi facility for students. Labs are provided for practical training. Our college provides air-conditioned classrooms. The library has ample space to read books. It provides good quality canteens. A medical emergency is also provided. Sports and games are frequently played. The college premises is huge.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are very helpful. Teachers teach the student as many times if needed. The course curriculum makes the students industry-ready. Semester exams are quite tough. The pass percentage is 75% to qualify exams.
Other: I have chosen this course because I want to become an aircraft maintained engineer.

Hi, No Institutes provide licence. This is issued by DGCA in India. However, all these institutions provide facility and training etc. to clear this exam for getting license. Best wishes to you.

Actually, both the courses are having equal weightage and have better scope. But it depends on your choice that in which course you are interested in it. One thing apart from that I would recommend that as per competition level is concerned so aeronautical engineering has less competition level.
