The minimum marks to qualify in the JKCET exam is 10. A candidate having scored less than 10 marks on the entrance test shall not be considered for admission.

Q:   What is the level of JKCET exam?
A: 

The entrance test is based on the courses of study and syllabus of the 12th class. 

As per the marking scheme of JKCET, 1 marks is awarded for each correct answer and for ecach wrong answer, 0.25 marks is deducted. Each 3 section of the question paper has 60 questions and has mamximum 60 marks. Maximum marks is thus 180.

Q:   What type of questions are asked in JKCET?
A: 

In JKCET, candidates have to attempt Multiple-Choice Questions. JKCET is held in offline, pen and paper based mode in english language only. The entrance test is based on the courses of study and syllabi of the 12th class. JKCET exam will have 1 paper that will have 3 sections - Maths, Physics and Chemistry. Eavh section will have 60 questions of marks each. The total marks in the paper is 180 and the total questions are 180.

The schedule for JKCET 2026 counselling is not announced yet. The registration for counselling is expected to start in April/May post declaration of results. Candidates are advised to follow the Shiksha page and the JKCET official website for updates on the counselling schedule.

The allotment of seats in JKCET counselling will be basis the choices filled by the candidate and the rank. It is advised that candidates fill as many choices they can to increase their chances of getting a college. Also, the choices filled must be in order of preference.
