MHT CET Exam Pattern 2025 has been released by the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test Cell. As per the MHT CET Paper Pattern, the exam will be conducted online as a Computer Based Test. MHT CET question paper will consist of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) having four options with one correct. There will be no negative marking in MHT CET 2025 exam but the level of questions will be similar to JEE Main. 

MHT CET 2025 exam will be conducted in two groups- PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) and PCB (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology). Candidates interested for admission to engineering courses have to appear in the PCM group while the candidates for pharmacy courses have to appear in the PCB group. The selection of PCM/PCB courses has to be made while filling the MHT CET 2025 application form.

As per the MHT CET syllabus, a total of 20% weightage is given to the questions from the class 11 syllabus, and 80% weightage to the questions from the class 12 syllabus while setting the question paper. Each paper will be of 100 marks and the duration will be 90 minutes.

Q:   What is the difficulty level of MHT CET 2024 exam?

A:

The difficulty level of MHT CET is medium. The questions asked in MHT CET is similar to the difficulty level of class 12 board exams. Students preparing for class 12 can easily crack MHT CET with a little extra effort. The syllabus of MHT CET is also similar to class 11 and 12 Maharashtra board which is an advantage for students planning to appear in MHT CET.

Q:   How is MHT CET conducted, online or offline?

A:

Maharashtra CET Cell conducts MHT CET exam in online mode as a computer-based test. MHT CET exam is conducted for two different courses; BTech, and BPharma. The exam for both BTech and BPharma is completely online. The exam is held across various test cities in India.

Q:   How many questions are asked in MHT CET exam?

A:

The MHT CET exam has a total of 150 questions from all three subjects. The exam has 50 questions each from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. All the 150 questions are multiple choice questions. Students need to answer all 150 multiple choice questions. Students need to complete all the 150 questions in 3 hours.

Q:   Are calculators allowed in MHT CET exam?

A:

Calculators are not allowed in the MHT CET exam. However, students are provided the virtual calculator during the exam which can be used to solving lengthy calculations. The virtual calculator is made available on the computer screen during the test and candidates can use it by clicking on the calculator link. Candidates are advised to practice solving numerical questions on their own as using virtual calculators can take much time.

Q:   What type of questions are asked in MHT CET?

A:

As per the MHT CET pattern, the questions asked in the exam will be multiple choice questions (MCQs) with four options, and there will be no negative marking. The exam will be conducted online as a Computer-Based Test (CBT).

The exam will consist of two sections - Section 1 (Physics and Chemistry) and Section 2 (Mathematics). Mathematics section will have 50 questions while Physics & Chemistry section will have 100 questions, 50 each from both subjects. The total duration of the exam will be 180 minutes, with 90 minutes for each section.

A:

Maharashtra CET Cell conducts MHT CET exam in a total of 3 languages. The languages in which the paper is conducted are Marathi, Urdu, and English. Students can select the language of their choice from the available options while filling out the application form. The language of MHT CET question paper during the exam will be available in a total of 3 languages, English, Urdu and Marathi. The language of paper can be switched among these 3 languages during the exam.

MHT CET 2025 Difficulty Level

The difficulty level of MHT CET is similar to JEE Main, as stated by the exam conducting authority. MHT CET 2025 will be conducted in two slots. As per the previous year question paper, it has been observed that the MHT CET exam was quite the same as JEE Main. On the other hand, the difficulty level of Biology has been at par with the NEET UG exam. For candidates seeking admission to Engineering and Technology degree courses, it is mandatory to appear for Paper-1 and Paper-2. The questions in the MHT CET exam will be application-based.

Q:   Do I need to attempt all the questions in MHT CET exam?

A:

It is not compulsory to attempt all the question in exam. Students can attempt any number of questions out of total 150 questions in the exam. Students are advised to attempt only those questions for which they can arrive at the answers/solutions. Questions for which the answer is not sure should be left. Students must note that there are no minimum marks in MHT CET that students need to score. Students gets All India Rank based on the marks they secure in exam and gets admission based on that rank.

Q:   Will there be any break in MHT CET 2025 exam?

A:

The total duration of MHT CET exam is 3 hours and the exam is conducted continuous without any break. Candidates are allowed to enter the exam hall as per the scheduled time and can leave only after the completion of paper. The exam will have a total of 150 questions from 3 subjects, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Students have to answer 75 questions out of 90 in 3 hours without any break. Also, there is no separate time for subjects and students can appear any subject based on his/her choice.

Q:   Is there a negative marking in MHT CET?

A:

MHT CET paper do not have negative marking for incorrect answer. In MHT CET exam, Physics and Chemistry question is of 1 marks. No marks are deducted for unattempted questions. For any question, if none of the options is found correct or a question is found to be wrong or dropped, then full marks will be awarded to all candidates irrespective of the fact whether the question has been attempted or not attempted by the candidate.

Q:   Can I change the language of the question paper during the MHT CET exam?

A:

Question papers during the exam will be visible in English, Urdu and Marathi. Candidates can switch the language of the question paper between the default languages which is English, Urdu and Marathi. In total, MHT CET is conducted in 3 languages and candidates have the option to select any language out of the available options. Candidates cannot switch the language of question paper between all 3 languages during the exam.
