Yes. The authorities will soon release the official WBJEE 2025 syllabus online at the official website - wbjeeb.nic.in. The details regarding which subjects, units and topics have to be studied for the examination will be available through the WBJEE syllabus. No other mode will be used to release the syllabus of WBJEE. Candidates are advised to check the syllabus before commencing the exam preparation process.

The topics of WBJEE will be similar to that of the Class 12th board exams and they also deal with the basic as well as extensive concepts of the subjects or sections from which the questions will appear. No. The candidates will not be required to prepare aptitude and logical reasoning questions for WBJEE 2025. The topics of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are included in the WBJEE 2025 syllabus. No aptitude and logical reasoning questions will be present in the question paper. Therefore, the candidates will not be required to study the aptitude and logical reasoning questions. Candidates are advised to focus on the official WBJEE syllabus while preparing for the examination.

Yes. There is negative marking in WBJEE. The scale of the negative marking depends on the category that the question falls in. Candidates can check the category-wise negative marking of WBJEE below. 

• Category I - An incorrect response will yield a loss of ¼ mark. For any combination of responses with more than one option, the said answer will be treated as incorrect and will yield -1/4 (25% negative) marks.
• Category II - An incorrect response will yield -1/2 (25% negative) marks. For any combination of responses with more than one option, the said answer will be treated as incorrect and will yield a -1/2 (25% negative) mark.
• Category III - There is no negative marking.

WBJEE question paper will consist of two sections - Paper 1 (Mathematics) and Paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry). While Paper 1 will consist of 75 questions, Paper 2 will have 80 questions. All questions will be multiple-choice in nature. The duration of each paper will be 2 hours. To qualify the entrance examination, the candidates will have to attempt both sections.
