What is APPSC Group 1 Exam?
Andhra Pradesh government abolished the interview stage from all the APPSC exams including the APPSC Group 1 exam. The government took the decision on the recommendation of the APPSC. As per the government statement, it will bring more transparency and trust to the exam process. There will be no interviews in the APPSC Group 1 exam notified from now onwards.
Earlier, APPSC Group 1 interviews were postponed for four weeks on the directives of the Honourable Andhra Pradesh High Court. The APPSC issued a notice informing the same. The APPSC Group 1 new interview dates will be released soon. Earlier the APPSC Group 1 interviews were commencing on June 17. The APPSC Group 1 exam is postponed so many times and the HIgh Court caused another delay.
APPSC Group 1 interview dates were announced by the Commission on May 1. APPSC is ready to take the interviews amid the COVDI-19 pandemic. Earlier the date for the interview commencement was May 3 but it was postponed. The Commission will send an individual memo to the candidates informing them about the details regarding the APPSC Group 1 interviews. The APPSC Group 1 interview began on June 17. The interviews will be conducted from Monday to Friday on a day-to-day basis.
Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission conducts the APPSC Group 1 exam to recruit officers in the state government departments. APPSC Group 1 Eligibility Criteria
As per the official notification of APPSC Group 1 services, “a candidate must be of sound health, active habits and free from any bodily defect or infirmity rendering him/her unfit for the services”. Also, the character and antecedents of the candidate should be such as to qualify him/her for the service.
Besides the above, the candidates must be a citizen of India.
Educational Qualification
The common educational qualification required for this exam is a graduate degree from any recognised university.

Stage 1 APPSC Group 1 Prelims(Screening) Exam
The prelims exam is a screening exam conducted offline in thirteen districts of Andhra Pradesh. It serves the purpose by reducing the number of candidates for the APPSC Group 1 main exam. The APPSC Group 1 Hall ticket(admit card) will be issued seven days before the exam. The prelims exam is qualifying in nature and the marks got in the APPSC Group 1 Prelims exam will not be considered for the final merit.

A. The structure of APPSC Group 1 exam is not very difficult and the candidates can prepare for the APPSC Group 1 exam without coaching. Joining a coaching institute is a very subjective decision. It can help some of the candidates in understanding the structure and pattern of IAS Exam but some of them find it useless. It differs from candidate to candidate.
A. The APPSC conducts various exams and the topmost exams of APPSC are APPSC Group 1 and Group 2 exam. Both the exams are different and recruit the candidates for different services.

Civil Services are central services and the APPSC Group 1 services are state services. The recruitment for civil services is done by the Union Public Service Commission and the Group 1 service recruitment is done by APPSC.
