The APPSC Group 1 revised result was declared by the Commission after the directions of the Honourable High Court of Andhra Pradesh. The APPSC Prelims 2019 result was declared after eliminating five questions from the APPSC Group I prelims exam. The candidates filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the High Court of Andhra Pradesh regarding the elimination of questions from the APPSC Group 1 prelims exam. Along with the APPSC Group 1 revised result, the Commission also released cut off marks.

The cut off is the marks of the last candidate selected for the next course of action. Each stage of the exam has a different cut off and the candidate need to score equal to or greater than the cutoff marks to pass that exam stage. The commission derives the APPSC Group 1 cut off for each phase of the exam.
The High Court ordered to reconsider the decision of eliminating the questions and consider the eliminated questions also for the APPSC Group 1 prelims result. APPSC was releasing the hall tickets for the APPSC Group 1 main exam scheduled from November 2. The commission towed to the decision of the high court and released a revised result of the APPSC Group 1 exam.

APPSC Group 1 Prelims Cut off
The APPSC Group I prelims cut off was released, along with the revised result released on October 31 by the Commission. The APPSC Group 1 prelims exam has two objective papers conducted online across the state. There is a negative marking of one by three. It means three wrong answers will eat up the marks secured by three one right answer.
There are two papers in the APPSC Group 1 prelims exam and each paper has the maximum of one hundred twenty (120). The maximum marks of the APPSC Group 1 prelims exam is two hundred and forty. The APPSC Group 1 cut off for each category will be released after the exam result will be declared.
The APPSC Group 1 Prelims Cut off is 88.85.
APPSC Prelims Group 1 Main Cut off
The APPSC Group 1 main exam will be conducted with the help of Electronic Tab. This will be the first time that the APPSC Group 1 main exam will be conducted with the help of Electronic Tab for the first time. There are five essay type papers in the APPSC Group 1 exam conducted offline. Apart from these five papers, the candidates need to qualify the two language papers-One for Telugu and another for English. So the cut off for the APPSC Group 1 exam will be derived from the Seven Hundred and Fifty marks.
APPSC Group 1 Cut off Final
The APPSC Group 1 exam cut off will be released, along with the final result of the APPSC Group 1 exam. After the APPSC Group 1 main exam, the eligible candidates are called for the APPSC Group 1 Interview. The APPSC Group 1 interview has the maximum marks of Seventy-Five (75). The candidates are required to breach the cut off derived and declared by the commission to get selected in the exam.
The cut off is derived after considering various factors. The three main factors influencing the cut off of the exam are.
- Number of vacancies
- The difficulty level of the Question Paper
- Number of candidates appeared in the exam
The last factor has the negligible influence because the number of candidates appearing in the exam remains similar each year. The number of vacancies influences the cut off greatly because keeping all the other factor constant, the cut off is inversely proportional to the number of vacancies.
