What is BPCL?
BPCL - Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited is India’s one of the ‘best performing’ Maharatna Public Sector Undertaking. Started as Rangoon Oil Company (formed in 1871) to the BPCL, the company became a premier company in Oil and petroleum distribution and serving the country since 1889 when the Assam Railway and Trading Company (ARTC) struck oil at Digboi. Later in 1928, a Standard Oil Trust was formed and various oil refineries came under one management.
On 15th December 1951, the Burmah Shell Group signed an agreement with the Government of India to build a modern refinery at Trombay, Bombay. Soon after, on 3rd November 1952, Burmah Shell Refineries Limited was incorporated as a private limited company under the Indian Companies Act and began working on the marshlands of Trombay. In 1976, Burma Shell Company and Caltex in 1977 were nationalised under the Nationalisation of Foreign Oil Companies 1974.
On 24 January 1976, the Burmah Shell was taken over by the Government of India to form Bharat Refineries Limited. Later, it was August 1, 1977; government renamed it as Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited.
BPCL Recruitment

BPCL Eligibility
The BPCL always mentions the eligibility for the notified post in the official advertisement. The eligibility for the management trainee is defined on two criteria.
Educational Qualification
For the position of management trainee, the candidate must be an Engineer.
The candidate must have a valid GATE score.
BPCL Selection Process
The candidates need to send their application in the prescribed format. The format of application is defined in the BPCL recruitment advertisement and the candidates need to follow it while sending their application. The BPCL admit card is issued for all the stages separately. The selection process of management trainee comprised of three stages.
Stage 1- Written exam
Stage 2 - Interview
Stage 3- Medical test
Stage 1 - The candidates need to send their application in the prescribed format to the designated office of BPCL. After the initial scrutiny of BPCL applications, the admit card will be issued to the candidates for the stage 1 written exam of the BPCL recruitment process.
Stage 2 - The candidates declared pass in the written exam will be called for the interview.
Stage 3 - The candidates need to undergo a medical test after the interview. The candidates need to pass the medical test.
After the medical test, the appointment letter will be issued to the successful candidates.
