Q:   What is IBPS PO Educational Qualification?

A:

IBPS PO educational qualification is a Degree/Graduation in any discipline from a university recognised by the government. Of India or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government. Candidates must possess valid marksheet/degree Certificate that they are graduate on the day they register and indicates the percentage of marks obtained in graduation while registration online. All educational mentioned by the examination authority should be from a university/institution/board recognised by government. Of India/approved by government/approved by government. Q:   Does IBPS maintains reserve list for IBPS PO exam?

A:
A reserve list to the extent of approximately 10 percent of the vacancies under each category may be kept, subject to the availability of candidates. This does not guarantee provisional allotment to/recruitment by the participating banks. In the event of Participating Banks providing further vacancies during April 2024-March 2025 at different intervals, provisional allotment may be carried out three to four times for the candidates in the reserve list, based on the vacancies provided by some or any of the participating banks at different intervals during the period. However, if no vacancy is furnished by the Participating Banks owing to exigencies or otherwise during the validity period, the candidates under the reserve list will not be considered for provisional allotment. The reserve list will expire automatically on March 31, 2025. Candidates who are not provisionally allotted or not in the reserve list will not be considered for further process.

IBPS PO Nationality Requirement

A candidate applying for IBPS CRP/Bank PO Examination must be one of the following:

1. Citizen of India

2. Subject of Nepal or Bhutan

3. Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement

4. Person of Indian Origin (PIO) who has migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam or East African countries of Zaire, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Ethiopia, Malawi, with the intention of permanent settlement in India

Candidates belonging to the category 2, 3, 4 must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Govt of India in their favour.

IBPS PO Age Limit

IBPS PO eligibility criteria are certain parameters regarding age and educational qualification. The age limit of candidates for IBPS PO is between 20 and 30 years. A candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.08.1994 and not later than 01.08.2004 (both dates inclusive).

The IBPS also provides age relaxation to certain categories.  Relaxation in the upper age limit will be provided to the following categories.

IBPS PO Educational Qualification

The eligibility criteria for the IBPS CRP exam is a graduation degree (BA, BCom, BSc, BTech, etc) in any discipline from a University recognized by the Government of India. Any such candidate who has received equivalent qualification which the Central Government recognizes is also eligible to apply for this exam.

The candidates must have a valid mark sheet/ degree certificate that certifies that they are a graduate on the day they register for this exam, and must indicate the percentage of marks obtained in graduation while registering for the IBPS PO. 

Calculation of Graduation Percentage

The percentage of marks obtained in graduation is arrived at by dividing the total marks obtained by the candidate in all the subjects irrespective of honours/optional/additional optional subject, if any) multiplied by 100. This will be applicable for those Universities also where Class/Grade is decided on the basis of Honours marks only. The fraction of percentage so arrived is ignored i.e. 59.99 per cent will be treated as less than 60 per cent and 54.99 per cent are treated as less than 55 per cent.

Computer Literacy

Working knowledge of computer systems is necessary for the job as well as to give the IBPS PO exam which is conducted in online mode.

Language Proficiency

Verbal and written proficiency in the official language of the State/UT is desirable. The candidate must be able to read, write and speak the language.

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) notified 3,955 IBPS PO vacancies in the official notification. The candidates should note that this is a higher number in comparison of previous year. The candidates can expected a low cutoff at each stage of the selection process. IBPS PO Interview

Shortlisted candidates for the mains exam are called for the interview, which is conducted by the participating organizations and coordinated by the nodal bank. The interview carries 100 marks. In the interview, candidates are asked questions based on the Banking Sector, Current Affairs, General Awareness, etc. The minimum qualifying mark in the interview is 40 per cent (35 per cent for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates).

IBPS PO Selection Process

The recruitment process for IBPS PO is explained below:

Release of application form: The application form is released online on the official website. The application process comprises registration, uploading of photograph and signature, filling the detailed application form, uploading left thumb impression and handwritten declaration, and fee payment. 

Issue of admit card: IBPS PO admit card is released online for different stages. Candidates need to download their admit cards by logging in with the registration number or roll number and date of birth or password.

Appearing in the exam: The exam is conducted in three stages: prelims, mains and interview. Candidates qualifying the prelims exam are called for the mains exam. Based on the mains exam marks, candidates are called for the interview. The final selection of candidates is done based on the mains exam and interview. 

Declaration of result: IBPS PO result is declared online for different stages: prelims, mains and final allotment. To check the result, candidates need to login with a registration number or roll number and date of birth or password.

Probationary Officers (PO) and Management Trainees (MT) are recruited every year by IBPS. The recruitment process comprises prelims, mains and interview.
