LIC AAO Syllabus: Reasoning Ability
The test of reasoning ability is designed to test the objectivity of the candidates. This section tests the reasoning power of the candidates, which will be helpful while doing the job in a real-time situation. The LIC AAO syllabus of Reasoning Ability is similar for the prelims and main exam because the topics are not defined in the LIC AAO notification. The only difference is the level of difficulty of questions in the prelims and main exam.

LIC AAO Syllabus: Quantitative Aptitude
Quantitative Aptitude is another important section in the LIC AAO syllabus. The candidates are tested for their calculation, accuracy and speed. The candidates need to practice the questions based on the quantitative aptitude topics so they can answer accurately. Besides accuracy, speed is the other important factor which is the deciding in the final selection. For both factors, practice is the only key.
LIC AAO Syllabus: General Knowledge, Current Affairs
General knowledge and current affairs section is only asked in the LIC AAO main exam. This can be the toughest section in the LIC AAO exam because of its enormity. General knowledge is more concerned about past events. Current affairs, on the contrary, are more concerned with the news of current times. It involves the factual and analytical orientation of current events. For the candidates of the LIC AAO exam, this section is the deciding factor for the final selection because none of the topics is fixed. Even from the topics, different questions can be framed.
LIC AAO Syllabus: English
English section is qualifying only in the LIC AAO prelims exam. There are 30 objective questions in the LIC AAO prelims exam, which is essential to qualify. Though its number is not counted in the LIC AAO merit list it is important because the selection depends upon its qualification.

In the main exam, the candidates need to qualify the English descriptive test of 25 marks. Though qualifying only, the English section plays a very important role because it is mandatory to secure the minimum qualifying marks. If the candidate secure high marks in the other sections and does not qualify the English section, then he will not be qualified for the LIC AAO posts.
LIC AAO Syllabus: Insurance & Financial Market Awareness
Insurance and financial market awareness are very important for the LIC AAO main exam because it shows the candidates interest in the insurance sector and the policies laid by the government. This section does not require the candidates to have a deep knowledge of the subject, but it requires the candidates to answer the perception-based question.
