GIC 2024 Recruitment: Result Out, Cutoff, Interview Date & Eligibility

General Insurance Corporation of India (GIC) is a reinsurance company that conducts a recruitment exam every year to shortlist eligible candidates for various posts. GIC recruitment is done for various positions such as Assistant Manager (Scale I Officers), Assistant and other entry-level positions. The senior positions are filled through promotion or lateral recruitment. Candidates shortlisted through the GIC recruitment exam are placed at different GIC offices based in India and abroad as per the requirement of the Corporation.

The GIC result 2024 for the post of Assistant Manager- Scale I Officer has been announced. The GIC result 2024 for Assistant Manager mentions the total number of the candidates declared qualified who have been shortlisted for the next round, that is, Group Discussion & interview. Candidates should download the result pdf and take a printout of the same for future reference. The roll number and name of the candidates will be the identification factor during the interview. GIC cutoff 2024 has been released along with the result. The cutoff for each category was released in the result document. The cutoff is the minimum mark required to get selected in that exam year. It is different from the qualification marks because it changes each year and it is the function of the number of vacancies, the number of candidates appearing in the exam and the difficulty level of the paper. The GIC eligibility criteria 2024 differs for each post. The basic GIC eligibility criteria that candidates need to fulfill are:

• A candidate should either be a citizen of India a subject of Nepal/Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee or a person of Indian origin
• A candidate should be aged between 21 and 30 years. The candidate should have been born not earlier than 02.02.1993 and not later than 01.02.2002 (both days inclusive).
• A candidate should possess a graduation or post-graduation degree with at least 60 per cent aggregate marks. Note: The subject of graduation/post-graduation varies as per the stream for which the candidate is applying.

GIC Age Limit 2024

The minimum age limit to apply for GIC recruitment is 21 years and the maximum age limit is 30 years. However, there is relaxation in the upper age limit to the candidates belonging to the reserved category candidates as given in the table below.

Note: In case of a candidate who is eligible for relaxation under more than one of the above categories, the age relaxation will be available on a cumulative basis subject to the maximum age not exceeding 45 years.

The GIC recruitment 2024 process includes the following steps:

Step 1: GIC Application Form

Firstly, candidates needed to fill out the GIC exam application form online on the official website of the corporation. The GIC application fee is INR 850 (plus 18% GST). However, candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Physically Handicapped (PH) category and the employees of GIC and GIPSA Member Companies are exempted from the application fee. The candidates can submit the GIC application online only.

Step 2: Download the GIC Admit Card

Candidates who successfully registered for the exam and were found eligible for the exam were issued the GIC admit card/call letter to appear in the written exam. The GIC call letter contains all important information such as the candidate’s name, exam date, exam time and exam centre address. GIC conducts the exam as a Computer-Based Test (CBT) online only. The exam conducting authority releases the admit card mentioning the details about the exam date, time and centre of examination. The candidates can see here the list of exam centres so that they can fill accordingly in the application by opting for the nearest or most convenient GIC exam centre.

Step 3: Appear for the GIC Exam

Next, candidates were required to appear for the GIC recruitment exam conducted in online mode. Subjects from which questions are typically asked in GIC exams were Reasoning, English Language, General Awareness, Numerical Ability and Computer Literacy. The weightage of the written test was 150 marks.

Step 4: Appear for Group Discussion & Interview

Candidates qualifying the online exam are called to appear for a Group Discussion (GD) and interview round. The weightage of GD and interview rounds is 50 marks.

Step 5: Appear for GIC Medical Examination

Candidates qualifying the GD and interview rounds will be called to appear for the pre-employment medical examination.

Step 6: Check the GIC Exam Result

GIC exam result is announced by the corporation on its official website. The result is released in the form of a merit list that contains the names and roll numbers of candidates qualifying all stages of the GIC recruitment process.

The General Insurance Corporation of India (GIC) does not release the answer key of the exam. Candidates need to ascertain their marks on their own only. The official GIC answer key is not released in the public domain. Various coaching and other publishers release memory-based answer keys only.

The General Insurance Corporation of India conducts the online exam in the computer-based test (CBT) mode only and the exam conducting authority does not release the official question paper in the public domain. Candidates preparing for the exam are required to depend on the memory-based question papers only. However, candidates can practice with the mock test papers and model questions for the exam.

GIC Descriptive Test Syllabus 2024: Hindi/ English

The GIC descriptive tests will be conducted online. The questions will be shown on screen and candidates will have to type answers using a keyboard. For Hindi typing, the candidates should know the following keyboard layout - Inscript and Remington (GAIL). The GIC English or Hindi language paper to test the technical and professional knowledge of candidates will contain objective-type MCQs from the following topics:

• Grammar & vocabulary
• Synonyms & antonyms
• Sentence completion
• Comprehension of a passage

However, the GIC English or Hindi Descriptive Test will contain the following questions:

• Essay
• Precise
• Comprehension
