TNTET 2024: The Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) will release the Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TNTET) notification soon on the official website. Along with the release of the notification, the TNTET application form will also be released. The candidates will have to apply for the TNTET 2024 exam online. It is expected that the TNTET notification and application will be released in December 2024. The candidates will have to pay INR 500 (unreserved/OBC) and INR 250 (SC/ST) as TNTET application fees. 

The TNTET 2024 is an eligibility exam conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates as Classes 1 to 8 teachers in the schools of Tamil Nadu.

Q:   How many papers does one need to give to qualify the TNTET exam?

A:

Candidates planning to teach Classes 1 to 5 need to qualify TNTET Paper 1. Candidates planning to teach Classes 6 to 8 need to qualify for TNTET Paper 2. Candidates planning to teach Classes 1 to 8 need to qualify both papers. The candidates have to apply for the papers according to their eligibility set by the board. The educational qualification criteria has been given below for the candidates:

Paper 1

a) Class 12 with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education

b) Class 12 with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (BElEd)

Paper 2

a) Graduation with a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education. Graduation with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in one-year B.Ed.

What is TNTET 2024?

Q:   Am I eligible for TNTET if I've completed my B.Ed?

Yes, if you have completed a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree, you are eligible to appear for TNTET for the upper primary level (Classes VI-VIII). To be eligible for TNTET, you must have a Bachelor's degree and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or a Bachelor's degree and a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) or a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) or a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

So, if you have completed your B.Ed degree, you can meet the educational qualification criteria for TNTET. However, you need to check other eligibility criteria such as nationality, age limit, etc. before applying for the examination.

TNTET Eligibility Criteria 2024

Candidates who are planning to appear for the exam must possess the following TNTET eligibility criteria:

TNTET Age limit: Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years of age. There is no upper age limit in the TNTET exam.

TNTET Educational qualification: The TNTET eligibility criteria in terms of educational qualification differs for Paper 1 and Paper 2. Have a look:

  • Higher Secondary or its equivalent with at least 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known). or
  • Higher Secondary or its equivalent with at least 45 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. or
  • Higher Secondary or its equivalent with at least 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (BElEd). or
  • Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. or
  • Graduation with at least 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of Bachelor of Education (BEd).

Note: Relaxation up to 5 per cent in the qualifying marks shall be allowed to the candidates belonging to  BC, BC(M), MBC/DNC, SC, SC(A), ST and PwD.

TNTET Paper 2 for Classes 6 to 8 teachers, Graduate teachers (Related subjects, Tamil, English
and others)

  • Graduation with at least 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.). or
  • Graduation with at least 45 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.). or
  • Graduation with at least 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of B.Ed. (Special Education).

TNTET Selection Process 2024

TNTET is conducted to determine the eligibility of the candidates who aspire to become teachers in government schools in the state of Tamil Nadu. The exam is held in two parts, Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is for the candidates who appear for the primary level and paper 2 is for those who appear for the upper primary level. Have a look at the TNTET exam process below:

How to make Objection against TNTET Paper 2 Answer Key

The candidates may submit their objections or representation regarding the published key. The steps to submit the objections have been given below for the candidates:

  • Enter the applicant's Registration Number/Enrollment Number in the Registration Number Field
  • Select the applicant's Date of Birth.
  • Select the Date of the Examination

TNTET Certificate Validity 2024

The TNTET-qualified candidates are awarded the eligibility certificates by the TRB. The TNTET certificate is now valid for a lifetime. However, merely holding a TNTET certificate does not confer any right to candidates for appointment as teachers. Q:   Is there any negative marking in TNTET exam?

A:

In the TNTET exam, papers 1 and 2 contain 150 objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs) each. Paper 1 comprises 5 sections I. e. Child Development and Pedagogy, Language-I, Language II, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies. Paper 2 comprises 4 sections with a choice in the fourth one I. e. Child Development and Pedagogy, Language-I, Language-II, and Mathematics and Science or Social Studies.
