TNTET Application Form 2024: The Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) will release the TNTET online form soon on the official website-trb.tn.gov.in. The candidates will be able to apply for the TNTET exam by registering themselves on the official website. The TNTET form will be released along with the release of the TNTET notification PDF. 

Before applying online for the Tamil Nadu Teachers Eligibility Test (TNTET) 2024, candidates were advised to go through the prescribed eligibility criteria. The TNTET eligibility criteria 2024 differ for Paper 1 and Paper 2.

Q:   When will the TNTET application form be released?

A:

The Teacher Recruitmnet Board (TRB) will release the Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TNTET) application form along with the release of the notification PDF. The candidates who wants to appear for the TNTET exam must apply for the exam online from the official website- trb.tn.gov.in. No offline form will be considered by the TRB by any means.

Q:   Can we change the subject code in the TNTET correction window as I have chosen wrong subject?

A:

The Teacher Recruitment Board opens the correction window for the candidates after the closure of the TNTET application form. The candidates can correct the mistakes that they have done while filling out the TNTET application form. On the specific date released by the TRB, candidates can make corrections to their application form through the candidates' login. To log into the registered account the candidates have to use their application number and date of birth. After the login, the candidates can correct their mistakes. 

However, the TRB does not allow some changes to the application form that are given below:

  • No change allowed in the mobile number, email address, permanent address & correspondence address
  • No change allowed in candidate’s name, date of birth and gender
  • No change is allowed in the photo
  • Change is allowed either in the father’s name or mother’s name (any one only)

The candidates' who do not verify their Adhaar Card can make corrections to the candidate's name, date of birth, and gender.

TNTET Application Form 2024: How to Apply Online?

Candidates need to apply online for the TNTET exam by following the steps mentioned below:

  • Step 1: Visit the official website of the TRB- http://www.trb.tn.gov.in/
  • Step 2: Click on the ‘TNTET 2024 Online Application Form’ link
  • Step 3: Click on the ‘Online Application Form’ link
  • Step 4: Click on 'New User' tab
  • Step 5: Go through the instructions carefully and accept the declaration
  • Step 6: Fill out the complete registration form
  • Step 7: Go on to fill out the TNTET application form
  • Step 8: Upload the scanned documents- passport size photo (20-60 KB) and signature (10-30 KB) in JPG/JPEG /PNG format
  • Step 9: Pay the application fee
  • Step 10: Submit the form and save the confirmation page

Candidates need to undertake the TNTET online application process separately for Paper 1 and Paper 2. 

TNTET Application Fee 2024

Candidates have to pay the TNTET application fee online using different Payment Gateways (Net banking/ Credit Card / Debit Card), no offline mode of payment is available. Candidates have to pay the TNTET exam fee for Paper 1 and Paper 2 separately. Let’s have a look at the examination fee structure for different categories below.

It is important to note that the correction window for the TNTET application form is usually open for a limited period. Candidates should also note that not all details in the application form can be corrected during the correction window. Only a limited number of fields such as name, father's name, date of birth, educational qualification, etc., can be corrected. Candidates should check the official website for the list of fields that can be corrected.

Q:   How many papers does one need to give to qualify the TNTET exam?

A:

Candidates planning to teach Classes 1 to 5 need to qualify TNTET Paper 1. Candidates planning to teach Classes 6 to 8 need to qualify for TNTET Paper 2. Candidates planning to teach Classes 1 to 8 need to qualify both papers. The candidates have to apply for the papers according to their eligibility set by the board. The educational qualification criteria has been given below for the candidates:

Paper 1

a) Class 12 with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education

b) Class 12 with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (BElEd)

Paper 2

a) Graduation with a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education. Graduation with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in one-year B.Ed.

Q:   Can I fill the TNTET Application Form in offline mode?

A:

No, the TNTET application form cannot be filled in offline mode. The application process for TNTET is completely online, and Tamil Nadu Recruitment Board (TRB) does not provided any offline mode for submitting the application form.

To apply for TNTET, you need to visit the official website of TRB and fill out the application form online. Q:   Is there any negative marking in TNTET exam?

In the TNTET exam, papers 1 and 2 contain 150 objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs) each. Paper 1 comprises 5 sections I. e. Child Development and Pedagogy, Language-I, Language II, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies. Paper 2 comprises 4 sections with a choice in the fourth one I. e. Child Development and Pedagogy, Language-I, Language-II, and Mathematics and Science or Social Studies. Q:   Is there any restriction on the number of attempts for the TNTET exam?

A:
No, you can apply and appear for the TNTET exam for any number of times till you attain the desired scores. The TNTET Certificate is valid for a lifetime according to the norms of NCTE. Though, the candidates can take the TNTET exam to upgrade their marks. The guidelines have been given below for the candidates to take the TNTET exam:

Q:   Am I eligible for TNTET if I've completed my B.Ed?

A:

Yes, if you have completed a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree, you are eligible to appear for TNTET for the upper primary level (Classes VI-VIII). To be eligible for TNTET, you must have a Bachelor's degree and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or a Bachelor's degree and a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) or a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) or a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

So, if you have completed your B.Ed degree, you can meet the educational qualification criteria for TNTET. However, you need to check other eligibility criteria such as nationality, age limit, etc. before applying for the examination.

Q:   Can I get my TNTET exam centre changed after the issue of the admit card?

A:

No, it is not possible to change the TNTET exam center after the issue of the admit card. The exam center is allotted based on the preferences provided by the candidate at the time of filling the application form, and the TNTET admit card contains the details of the exam center allotted to the candidate. Once the admit card is issued, the exam center cannot be changed under any circumstances. Candidates are required to appear for the exam at the allotted exam center as mentioned on their admit card.
