IBPS Clerk Recruitment 2024: The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) released IBPS Clerk 2024 recruitment notification on July 1, 2024. IBPS Clerk 2024 notification recruitment was released in PDF form on the official website to fill up a total of 6128 vacancies. IBPS Clerk 2024 application form was available from July 1 to 28, 2024.

IBPS Clerk exam dates 2024 were announced. The prelims exam was conducted on August 24, 25, and 31, 2024. IBPS Clerk 2024 mains exam was conducted on October 13, 2024. 

IBPS Clerk exam is conducted to select candidates for the post of Clerical cadre posts in the participating banks. Any candidate who aspires to join any of the participating banks as a Clerk is required to register for the Common Recruitment Process. 

Depending on the vacancies to be filled in during the financial year and based on the business needs of the participating banks and as reported to IBPS, candidates shortlisted are provisionally allotted to one of the participating banks. Recruitment in the participating banks is a dynamic process that depends upon restrictions imposed, business volume, business growth, health of the banks, branch expansion, internal and external factors, structural changes, etc. 

Q:   When IBPS Clerk 2025 application form will be released?

IBPS Clerk 2025 Application Form will be released in July 2025. Candidates can fill out the IBPS Clerk application form by registering on the official website. Any graduate candidate can apply for IBPS Clerk exam. The application process comprises several stages such as registration, uploading the scanned photograph and signature, filling the detailed application form, previewing the application, uploading the left thumb impression and handwritten declaration. The application fees for the exam are INR 850 for General and OBC candidates and INR 175 for SC/ST/PWD categories.

Q:   How is the provisional allotment of IBPS Clerk done?

A:

IBPS Clerk provisional allotment is done based on the marks obtained in the Mains exam. The marks obtained in the prelims exam are not counted for the final merit list. To prepare the provisional allotment list, the marks are normalised out of 100. The marks and cut off marks for provisional allotment are prepared out of 100. The process of provisional allotment is given below:

  • The total marks allotted to the mains exam are 200. Marks are converted out of 100 for provisional allotment. Candidates should qualify in the online main exam and be sufficiently high in merit to be considered for the subsequent provisional allotment process
  • On completion of the mains exam, depending on the state/UT-wise vacancies to be filled in during the financial year 2023-24 based on the business needs of the participating banks, candidates shortlisted will be provisionally allotted to one of the participating banks based on merit-cum-preference
  • The provisional allotment is done on the basis of actual vacancies reported by the participating banks
  • Candidates belonging to the reserved category, selected on the basis of norms as applicable to the General Category will be treated at par with a General category candidate. Such own merit candidates belonging to reserved categories who are provisionally allotted under unreserved (General) category will not be adjusted against a reserved post. However, their original category as registered in the online registration will remain unchanged
  • The provisional allotment is subject to the candidate fulfilling the criteria for participating bank and identity verification to the satisfaction of the allotted bank. This does not constitute an offer of employment. Verification of documents with regard to eligibility criteria is carried out by the participating bank
  • The participating bank also ascertains Proficiency of the local language (reading, writing, and speaking) of the State/UT for the provisionally allotted candidates

IBPS Clerk 2024 Recruitment Selection Process

To be eligible for the job, candidates need to clear the preliminary and mains exam. It will take at least 30 days to cover all the relevant topics for IBPS Clerk prelims along with appropriate practice. For mains, General awareness needs to be covered, which students can start after covering the prelims syllabus. After covering the syllabus, students should focus on General Awareness (GA) and give as many full-length mocks as possible. Students should daily study GA for 3 hours, give at least 2 or 3 full-length mocks, and analyze them to identify and correct the mistakes.
