Indian Coast Guard Age Limit
Male candidates between 18 and 22 years of age are eligible to apply for the posts. SC/ST and OBC candidates will get five years and three years upper-age relaxation, respectively.
Indian Coast Guard Educational Qualification
- Candidates must complete Class 10 or Matriculation
- Diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical/Electronics and Telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) with 60 per cent in aggregate
- SC/ST candidates will get five per cent relaxation in minimum cut off
- Anyone who has outstanding records in sports at the national level will also get five per cent relaxation in minimum cut off
- 10th class passed from an education board recognized by Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE) and Diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical / Electronics and Telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).
Indian Coast Guard Yantrik Selection Process
Selection process for Yantrik includes a written test, physical fitness test (PFT) and initial medical examination. After the final medical examination, candidates will be enrolled for a training.
Written Test (Stage I)

- Questions will be asked from respective branches (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics & Telecommunication) along with a few questions from General Knowledge, Reasoning, General Aptitude and English

- Short-listing criteria for applications will be based on higher percentage of marks in the diploma
- Indian Coast guard reserves the right to increase the qualifying percentage for a particular centre if more number of applications are received with higher percentage of marks
Physical Fitness Test (PFT) (Stage II)

Indian Coast Guard exam city is released for Yantrik post. Candidates can check their allotted cities by logging with user ID and password. Indian Coast Guard Yantrik Exam Pattern 2025
The stage 1 exam of Indian Coast Guard yantrik is conducted online. The question paper for section I, II, III, IV & V will be objective type with four options. The candidate has to choose the correct option. There is no negative marking in the stage 1 exam. Based on the performance in Stage 1, candidates are called for stage 2. The stage 2 is conducted for 1 to 2 days and it is qualifying in nature. Based on the performance in Stage-I & Stage-II, an all India merit list will be prepared and e-admit card for stage-III (final medicals at INS Chilka) will be issued as per the vacancies available and ratio decided by ICG. The duration of Stage-III is 1 to 2 days. The candidates who clear stage III and stand in merit as per the vacancies available will be provisionally shortlisted for training at INS Chilka.
