Jammu & Kashmir State Eligibility Test (JK SET)/ Ladakh State Eligibility Test (LASET) is a state-level exam conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for the post of Assistant Professor in universities and colleges of the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. The exam is organised once a year by the University of Jammu in 41 different subjects mentioned below:

The JKSET admit card 2024 will be released on the official website. Candidates can download their admit cards by following the given steps:

• Take a printout for future reference.

The JK SET/ LASET application form 2024 was available online. Candidates could submit the JK SET application form 2024 by following the steps given below:

• Click on the 'How to Apply?' link
• Go to the 'Click here to apply for JK SET/ LASET 2024' link and click on it.
• Read the instructions carefully.
• Pay the JKSET application fee 2024.
• Register for the exam and save the transaction reference number
• Enter the transaction reference number and mobile number
• Upload the scanned photo and signature in the prescribed size and dimensions.
• Fill the JKSET application form.
• Submit and save the confirmation page.

The basic eligibility criteria that candidates need to fulfil to apply for the JK SET 2024 exam are given below:

• Candidates with at least 55 per cent marks or an equivalent grade (50 per cent for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PwD) in Master’s Degree or equivalent exam from Universities/ Institutions recognized by UGC.

• Candidates who appeared OR will be appearing at the qualifying Master’s degree exam and whose result is still awaited will be admitted provisionally and will be awarded the eligibility for Assistant Professor after they pass the Master’s degree exam.

• PhD degree holders who completed the Master’s degree exam by September 19, 1991, are given a relaxation of 5 per cent in aggregate marks for appearing in JKSET/ LASET.

• Transgender category candidates are eligible to draw the same relaxation in fee and age as available to SC/ST/PwD categories.

• Candidates who have already passed the UGC NET/ CSIR NET exam before 1989 are exempted from appearing in JK SET.

• There is no upper age limit for applying for JKSET/ LASET.

JK SET selection process includes the following steps:

• JK SET application form: Firstly, candidates need to fill JK SET application form on the official website of the exam.
• JK SET admit card: Candidates who successfully apply for the exam are issued the JK SET admit card. Candidates need to download the admit card and carry it to the exam centre on the day of the examination.
• JK SET exam: Candidates need to appear for the JK SET exam at the allotted test centre. JK SET contains two papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2. The JK SET Paper 1 carries 100 marks and Paper 2 carries 200 marks.
• JK SET result: The University of Jammu declares the JK SET result on the official website of the exam. Six per cent of the total appearing candidates who qualify for both papers of JKSET/ LASET are declared qualified for the eligibility of Assistant Professor in the universities and colleges of J&K and Ladakh.

The JK SET syllabus 2024 is prescribed by the University of Jammu. The syllabus differs for Paper 1 and Paper 2. The JK SET Paper 1 syllabus includes questions to assess the teaching/ research aptitude, reasoning ability, reading comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of candidates. On the other hand, the JK SET Paper 2 syllabus is based on the subject chosen by candidates and includes questions to assess domain knowledge. The JKSET Paper 2 is conducted for a total of 41 subjects.

The University of Jammu will conduct the JKSET/ LASET 2024 exam in 41 subjects at three Centres - Jammu, Srinagar and Leh. These centres contain various sub-centres. Have a look at the list of JK SET exam centres below.

The University of Jammu will release the provisional JK SET answer key 2024 soon after the conduct of the exam. The provisional answer key will be released to invite objections from candidates. Candidates can download the JK SET answer key 2024 PDF and raise objections by following the given steps:

• Click on the ‘Display/ Challenge Answer Key’ tab.
• Accept the declaration.
• Enter the roll number and mobile number.
• Download the answer key PDF.
• Click ‘Yes’ if you want to challenge the answer to any question.
• Enter the total number of answers you want to challenge in both Paper 1 and 2.
• Pay the non-refundable processing fee of INR 200 per answer to be challenged.
• Mention the question number you want to challenge, the correct option as per your claim and write the remarks in favour of your answer.
• Upload the documentary proof in support of your claim as a single pdf file.
• Submit the challenges.

The aggregate percentage obtained by candidates in both papers corresponding to the number of slots determines the qualifying JK SET cutoff marks 2024. The JK SET cut-off 2024 will be released category-wise and paper-wise for all 41 subjects.

JKSET 2024: Minimum qualifying marks

The minimum marks to be obtained in the JKSET exam for considering a candidate for eligibility for the Assistant Professor post are:

• At least 40% aggregate marks in both the papers taken together for Unreserved/ EWS-General category candidates
• At least 35% aggregate marks in both the papers taken together for all candidates belonging to the other reserved categories.
