JK SET Syllabus 2023
The University of Jammu has released the JK SET syllabus for Paper 1 and for all 39 subjects of Paper 2. The syllabus is available as PDF downloadable files for all the subjects separately. The JKSET Paper 1 syllabus 2023 is standard for all candidates. The subject from which the Paper 1 questions are asked is Teaching and Research Aptitude. On the other hand, JKSET Paper 2 syllabus 2023 includes questions from subjects chosen by the candidate from the list of 39 subjects in their application forms. The detailed syllabus for Paper 1 and Paper 2 is given below.
JK SET Syllabus 2023 for Paper 1
The JK SET Paper 1 is conducted for the Teaching and Research Aptitude subject. The JKSET question paper for Paper 1 assesses the teaching aptitude of the candidates and tests their reasoning ability, reading comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness. The JKSET Paper 1 syllabus comprises topics from 10 units. Five questions of two marks each are asked from each unit. Have a look at the detailed JKSET syllabus for Paper 1 below:
Unit-I: Teaching Aptitude
- Teaching: Concept, objectives, levels of teaching (memory, understanding and reflection), characteristics and basic requirements
- Learner’s characteristics: Characteristics of adolescent and adult learners (academic, social, emotional and cognitive), individual differences
- Factors affecting teaching related to: Teacher, Learner, Support material, Instructional facilities, Learning environment and Institution
- Methods of teaching in higher learning institutions: Teacher-centred vs learner-centred methods; offline vs online methods (Swayam, Swayamprabha, MOOCs, etc.).
- Teaching support system: Traditional, modern and ICT based
- Evaluation systems: Elements and types of evaluation, evaluation in Choice Based Credit Systems in higher education, computer-based testing, innovations in evaluation systems
Unit-II: Research Aptitude
- Research: Meaning, types, and characteristics, positivism and post-positivistic approach to research
- Methods of research: Experimental, descriptive, historical, qualitative and quantitative methods

A passage of text is given. Questions are asked from the passage which need to be answered.
