KAS notification 2021 was released on February 22. JKPSC released the exam calendar 2021 mentioning all the important exam of JKPSC. KAS notification 2021 (short) was released on January 8. The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission is yet to release the full notification notifying the important dates, eligibility criteria, selection procedure and the application details for the KAS exam 2021. KAS Prelims exam 2021 was conducted offline across the state in June/July.

KAS 2021 Eligibility
KAS 2021 notification is stated to be released in the third week of January. The eligibility conditions are specified as per the rules given in the SR-103 of 2018. The eligibility criteria, as per the rule SR-103 of 2018, are given below.
Educational Qualification
The educational qualification required to appear in the KAS 2021 examination is a graduate degree from the recognised university. An equivalent degree from any foreign university will also make the candidates eligible for the KAS 2021 exam. But the recognition for such equivalency should be provided by the Government of India.
The candidates who appeared in their final year exam fully by the last date of the KAS application will be allowed to appear in the KAS 2021 Preliminary Exam. Such final year students will be required to produce their educational qualification proof along with KAS main exam application form.
Residential Status
The candidates must be a permanent resident of the state. This eligibility condition can be changed in the KAS 2021 notification because it will be the first notification of KAS after the constitution of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The Union Government of India notified the domicile rules in 2020 for the persons residing in the state. The candidates should read and follow this eligibility condition will be defined in the KAS 2021 notification.

Age Limit
As per the rules, the candidates should be at least 21 years of age and must not attain the age of 32 years on January 1 of the exam year, in this case, it will be on January 1 of the exam year. The rules provide the age relaxation to the candidates belonging to certain categories in the following manner.

The head of the department can only certify the candidates that he is serving in a substantive capacity. The candidate must serve that department for two years before such certification.
Number of attempts
The candidate will be allowed to appear in the KAS exam six times only. The commission provides extra attempts to the candidates belonging to certain categories in the following manner.

As per the rules, the KAS prelims 2021 will be an objective type exam and the KAS main exam will be descriptive type conventional exam. Both the exams will be conducted offline in the pen and paper mode across the state.

KAS Syllabus
KAS notification 2021 will officially notify the KAS syllabus 2021. The KAS syllabus 2021 is very similar to the IAS syllabus. The syllabus notifies that the Kashmir specific questions will be asked in the KAS Prelims General Studies Paper I. The KAS Prelims General Studies ask the questions related to the current events of Jammu and Kashmir.
