JKPSC KAS admit card 2022 was released online on February 10, 2022. The Commission released the KAS 2022 admit card online only and the candidates were required to download their JKPSC KAS admit card 2022 from the official website jkpsc.nic.in. The Commission conducted the JKPSC KAS 2022 main exam from February 20 to March 2, 2022. The exam was conducted offline only.
KAS 2023 exam dates were very important because no exam in the state will be conducted having same eligibility criteria on these dates. The Commission conducted the KAS Main exam 2022 in offline mode. KAS prelims 2022 result was released online on August 17, 2022. The Commission released the KAS prelims result pdf online only. Jammu Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) conducted the KAS 2022 prelims exam on July 31, 2022. JKPSC released the Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS) prelims tentative answer key on July 31, 2022. KPSC released the official KAS 2022 notification on April 19, 2022. The total number of KAS 2022 vacancies are 220. Out of the total, 100 vacancies were notified for Jammu Kashmir Administrative Services (JKAS). The last date to apply for the exam was May 29,2022.

What is KAS?
Jammu and Kashmir Combined Competitive Exam (CCE) is the topmost exam conducted by JKPSC. The exam is conducted yearly to recruit the candidates to various services notified under the KAS exam. The recruitment will be done through a Combined Competitive Exam, 2022. KAS officers work like the State PCS officers and they are only second to the IAS officers working in the state.
What is the full form of KAS?
The full form of KAS is Kasmir Administrative Service. Now it can be seen in the official notification that the name is now J&K Administrative Service (JKAS).

KAS 2022 Result
KAS 2022 prelims result was released online on August 17, 2022. The commission declared 4,932 candidates declared eligible to appear in the main exam. The marks of the KAS main exam (written) and the personality test are added to draw a final merit list. JKPSC release the KAS result as per the number of vacancies. The names and roll numbers of the candidates are mentioned in the results.
KAS 2022-23 Eligibility Criteria
The KAS eligibility criteria was defined in the KAS notification 2022. In the official notification, there was a mention that the KAS exam 2022 was conducted as per the rules given in the 'SR-103" of the year 2018. As per the rules given in the Combined Competitive Examination rules (SR-103), the eligibility criteria for applying online for JKPSC KAS are as follows.
KAS Residential Status
The candidate must be a permanent resident of the state. Recently, after Jammu and Kashmir became Union Territory, the rules for the permanent resident status were released by the Government of India. For this clause, the candidates must refer to the notification.

KAS 2022 Educational Qualification
The candidates must be a graduate from any recognised university in India or from a Foreign University, the degree of which is declared equivalent to the degree from a recognised university by the Government of India. The candidates who appeared in their final year exam fully on or before the last date of the KAS application were allowed to appear in the KAS 2022 Preliminary Exam. Such candidates need to produce proof of their Bachelor’s degree with the application to the KAS main exam.
KAS 2022 Age Limit
As per the rules for the Combined Competitive Examination, the candidates must have attained the age of 21 years but not attained the age of 32 years. The commission also provides age relaxation for the candidates belonging to certain reserved categories in the following manner:

The person holding office in a substantive capacity will be certified by the Head of Department of his department, where he or she has served for at least two years. The in-service candidates need to take permission from the Head of Office and send a hardcopy copy of the online application to the commission.
KAS 2022 Number of Attempts
Any candidate who is eligible for the KAS exam shall be permitted six attempts at the examination. The JKPSC provides the additional number of attempts to certain categories in the following manner.

KAS Notification 2022
KAS notification is the most important official document which mentions the vacancies, application fee, application dates, exam dates and other important eligibility conditions. It is the first official announcement that kick-starts the KAS application process. KAS 2022 notification was released online on April 19, 2022. The candidates should read all the eligibility conditions given in the official notification because the rules mentioned in the notification will govern the conduct of the exam.
KAS Application 2022-23
KAS application 2022 was activated on April 25,2022, as per the dates given in the official notification. The candidates need to check all the eligibility conditions and then only fill the application form because if the candidate does not conform to any of the eligibility conditions, the candidature of the candidate will be cancelled at any stage. The KAS application details will become the official records once the application is accepted.

KAS 2022 Exam Pattern
The KAS exam pattern is akin to the UPSC exam pattern. The KAS exam is conducted in two phases.

KAS 2022 Syllabus
KAS 2022 syllabus was notified in the official KAS notification. The KAS syllabus is very much similar to the IAS syllabus. KAS prelims exam will be an objective type exam and there will be two papers. The KAS 2022 syllabus was also notified as per rule 'SR-103'.
KAS Prelims Syllabus
The KAS prelims syllabus as mentioned in the rules is as follows.
General Studies Paper I (200 Marks)
- Current events of National and International importance;
- History of India and Indian National Movement;
- Indian and World Geography–Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the world;
- Indian Polity and Governance–Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues etc;
- Economic and Social Development–Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives etc;
- General issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change–that do not require subject specialization;
- General Science;
Note: Questions pertaining to the state of Jammu & Kashmir may also be asked in this paper.
General Studies Paper-II (200 Marks)
- Comprehension;
- Interpersonal skills including communication skills;
- Logical reasoning and analytical ability;
- Decision-making and problem-solving;
- General mental ability;
- Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude etc.–Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc.–Class X level)
Note 1: Paper-II of the Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination will be a qualifying paper with minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33%.
Note 2: The questions will be of multiple-choice, objective type.
Note 3: It is mandatory for the candidate to appear in both the Papers of Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination for the purpose of evaluation. Therefore, a candidate will be disqualified in case he/she does not appear in both the papers of the Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination.
KAS 2022 Selection Process
The KAS exam is a two-stage exam and the candidates need to qualify in each stage to get the call for the next stage. The KAS exam has the following two stages :
- KAS prelims exam
- KAS Main Exam
The KAS interview is a part of the KAS main exam and it is conducted at the office premises of the JKPSC.
KAS main exam
KAS main exam is conducted in offline mode at the designated exam centres of the state. The KAS main exam pattern is similar to the IAS main exam. The only difference is the marks of the English Paper and interview marks.
JKPSC KAS Exam 2021 Update
JKPSC KAS Result 2021 was released online on January 20, 2023. The Commission released the JKPSC KAS result 2021 online only and the candidates are required to check their result online only. The Commission released the roll number of the qualified candidates. The Commission selected 108 candidates for the Medical Examination. After the Medical examination, these candidates will be appointed to the concerned departments. The candidature of two candidates were cancelled.
JKPSC conducted the KAS prelims 2021 on October 24, 2021. In the KAS Prelims 2021 exam, 20,790 candidates appeared and 4,462 candidates were passed for the KAS main exam 2021. The KAS main 2021 exam was conducted from April 8, 2022 to April 18, 2022. The total number of candidates appeared in the main exam was 3,916. The Commission selected 648 candidates for the interview phase. The JKPSC conducted the KAS 2021 interviews from December 5, 2022, to January 19, 2023.
