Odisha Secondary School Teacher Eligibility Test or OSSTET is the mandatory eligibility test that is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates as secondary teachers in Government/Government Aided schools of Odisha. The exam is conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha. OSSTET is conducted on a yearly basis. The OSSTET exam is qualifying in nature. The exam has two categories, Category 1 (Paper 1) and Category 2 (Paper 2). The OSSTET Category 1 is for Education Teachers (Trained Graduate Teachers in Science/ Arts, Hindi/ Classical Teacher (Sanskrit/ Urdu/ Telugu) and Category 2 is for Physical Education Teachers.

Q:   How many papers does one need to give to qualify the OSSTET exam?

Candidates planning to teach Classes 1 to 5 need to qualify OSSTET Paper 1. Candidates planning to teach Classes 6 to 8 need to qualify for OSSTET Paper 2.
