• Graduation with BEd (final year appearing or passed)

Upper Primary

• Graduation with a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education
• Graduation with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in one-year BEd
• Graduation with at least 45 per cent marks and a one year BEd
• Class 12 with minimum 50 per cent marks with a four-year BElEd

Candidates planning to teach Classes 1 to 5 need to qualify OSSTET Paper 1. Candidates planning to teach Classes 6 to 8 need to qualify for OSSTET Paper 2. Candidates planning to teach Classes 1 to 8 need to qualify both papers. The candidates have to apply for the papers according to their eligibility set by the board.
