RPSC RAS Exam Pattern 2025: The exam pattern highlights the overall structure of the exam. Going through the RPSC RAS exam pattern, candidates can know the marking scheme, different sections, total number of questions, etc. The RPSC RAS exam is conducted in three stages – Preliminary, Main and Interview/ Personality Test. RPSC RAS Prelims Exam Pattern 2025
The RPSC RAS Pre exam is a screening test that contains objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs) of 200 marks. A screening test means that marks obtained by candidates in the preliminary exam are not counted at the time of preparation of the final RPSC RAS exam merit list. The preliminary exam is the first selection stage of the RPSC RAS Exam. The standard of questions asked in the RAS Pre exam is of graduation level. RPSC RAS Mains Exam Pattern 2025
The Mains exam of RPSC RAS consists of a total of four papers of 200 marks each. Candidates must appear for all four papers. Each paper contains descriptive/ analytical (brief, medium, long answer and descriptive type questions) questions. Candidates need to complete each paper in a time duration of three hours. RAS Mains Paper 1 Pattern
The total mark of the RAS Paper-I is 200. The RAS Mains Paper 1 is conducted as per the structure given below:

RAS Mains Paper 4 Pattern

RPSC RAS Interview Pattern 2025
Candidates shortlisted based on the RPSC RAS Mains exam need to appear for the Interview round. The RPSC RAS Interview/ Personality Test round carries a weightage of 100 marks. In the RAS Interview round, candidates are evaluated based on the following parameters:
- Character
- Personality
- Physique
- Knowledge of Rajasthani culture
Note: For selection to Rajasthan Police Service (RPS), preference at the time of interview is given to candidates having an NCC ‘C’ Certificate.
RPSC RAS Exam Pattern: Important Points
Some of the points that candidates should keep in mind regarding the RPSC RAS exam pattern are:
- All the papers (Pre and Main) can be answered in English or Hindi language. However, candidates are not allowed to answer a paper partly in Hindi and English, unless specified to do so
- If a candidate’s handwriting is not clear to the examiner, a deduction is made from the total marks obtained by the candidate
- According to the official notification of the exam, “Credit will be given for orderly, effective and exact expression combined with due economy of words in all subjects of the examination.”
