Territorial Army Salary: Benefits
In addition to Territorial Army salary, candidates get many other benefits as well:
- Officers with more than 20 years experience and Junior Commissioned Officers or any other ranks with 15 years experience get Pension
- Increment is received each time after a year of physical service
- The benefits and incentives of insurance are given to people of the non-department units of the Territorial Army
- Camp Allowance of INR 10 per day is provided to the candidate when attending camps or courses of instruction
- Terminal Gratuity is available after completing 5 years of physical service or 10 years of total service to personnel

Territorial Army: Important points regarding joining
The important points related to the joining are given below:
- Territorial Army is a part-time concept with mandatory two months of training in a year and does not provide a full-time career
- Serving in Territorial Army does not guarantee pension, and the same is subject to embodied service as per organisational requirement
- The commission is granted in the rank of Lieutenant
- Pay and allowances and privileges will be the same as Regular Army Officers when under training and military service
- Promotions upto Lt Col by time scale subject to fulfilling the criteria
- Promotion to Colonel and Brigadier is done by selection
- Officers commissioned in Infantry TA may be called out for military service for a longer duration depending on the requirement
Territorial Army Incentives and Service Benefits
Candidates are entitled to the following incentives and service benefits:
- Promotion to higher as per authorization
- Free rations, CSD facilities, and medical facilities to self and dependants when embodied for training military service or when posted on permanent staff
- Facilities of leave, leave encashment, accommodation, and leave travel concessions when embodied for training, military service, or on Permanent Staff
- Entitlement to all medals and awards as applicable to the Regular Army
- Rank Pay as applicable to regular army
- DA as applicable during service embodiment
- Special increments on completion of three to five annual training camps
- Entitlement to pension for officers with 20 years and JCOs and other ranks with 15 years aggregate embodied service (actual physical service)
- Facilities of Army Welfare Housing Organisation after 10 years of embodied/physical service
- Terminal gratuity at the time of discharge/retirement (other than civil government employees)

Territorial Army Selection Process
Candidates whose application forms are found correct will be called for screening (written exam followed by interview only if passed in written exam) by a Preliminary Interview Board (PIB) by the respective Territorial Army Group Headquarters.
Successful candidates further undergo tests at a Service Selection Board (SSB) and Medical Board for final selection. The vacancies of male and female candidates are determined as per organisational requirements.
