RRB ALP 2024: Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) released RRB Technician Grade 3 answer key 2024 on January 6, 2025. The last date to raise objections is January 11, 2025. Earlier, RRB Technician Grade 1 answer key 2024 was released. RRB Technician 2024 exam for Technician Grade 1 was conducted on December 19 and 20, 2024. Along with the answer key, an objection tracker, question papers and response sheet were also released. RRB Technician answer key 2024 can be accessed by logging with the required credentials. Using the RRB ALP answer key 2024, candidates can calculate the correct answers to the questions asked in the exam.

Q: What are RRB ALP qualifying marks?
The qualifying marks of RRB ALP exam are the marks which candidates need to secure in order to qualify the exam. Besides, the cut off marks, candidates are also required to secure the cut off. The category-wise qualifying marks for RRB ALP exam are given below.

RRB ALP CBT 1 admit card 2024 was released on November 21, 2024 for the exam scheduled on November 25, 2024. The admit card for the exam scheduled on November 26, 2024 was released on November 22. RRB ALP CBT 1 admit card 2024 for the exam scheduled on November 27, 2024 was released on November 23, 2024. RRB ALP admit card 2024 for the exam scheduled on November 28, 2024 was released on November 24, 2024. RRB ALP admit card 2024 for Nov 29 exam was released on November 25, 2024. Candidates can download their admit cards through the direct link provided on this page. RRB ALP admit card can be downloaded by entering user ID and password. Q: When RRB ALP notification 2024 was released?
Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have released a short notification for RRB ALP 2024 recruitment. The detailed notification was released on January 20, 2024. A total of 5696 vacancies will be filled through this recruitment process. The exam is conducted for candidates in the age group of 18 to 30 years and who have completed Class 10/SSLC. The recruitment is done for the post of Assistant Loco Pilots and Technicians. This year, the age limit for ALP post has been revised. Earlier, the age limit for ALP was 18 to 28 years. The revised age limit is 18 to 30 years.
Q: What is RRB ALP marking scheme?
CBT 1 will have 75 questions for 75 marks and the duration granted to resolve the questions is 60 minutes. 1/3rd ? marks will be deducted for each wrong answer in CBT 1. The CBT 2 will have two parts- Part A and B for 175 marks. 1/3rd? marks will be deducted for each wrong answer in CBT 2. The marks of candidates are calculated based on the correct and incorrect answers. Normalisation of marks is done to calculate the scores of candidates.
Q: WHen RRB ALP exam will be conducted?
The CBT 1 exam was conducted from November 25 to 29, 2024 for ALP posts. The exam for Technician posts was conducted on December 19, 20, 23, 24, 26, 28, 29 and 30, 2024. The CBT 1 exam of RRB ALP comprises questions from Mathematics, General Intelligence, and Reasoning, General Science and General awareness on current affairs. The test carries a total of 75 marks. The CBT 2 is divided into two parts-Part A and Part B. Part A of the second stage CBT comprises 100 objective-type questions from Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, Basic Science and Engineering and General Awareness on Current Affairs. In Part B, Total 75 questions are asked in the exam. This part is qualifying in nature and comprises questions from the trade syllabus prescribed by the Director General of Employment & Training (DGET).

RRBs re-opened the window to fill RRB ALP application Form 2024 for Technician posts on October 2, 2024. The application form filling process re-opened since the Railway Boards have increased the number of vacancies and added new categories. What is RRB ALP Post?
Railway recruitment board (RRB) conducts RRB ALP & Technician exam to recruit Assistant Loco Pilot and Technician for different railway zones across the country. This is a national-level exam and lakh of candidates appear for it. RRB ALP selection process comprises two stages (first stage CBT and second stage CBT) which is common for ALP and Technician. In addition, candidates who opt for ALP and qualify the CBT 2, are required to undergo Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT). The final stage comprises document verification and empanelling.

RRB ALP Application Form 2024
RRB ALP 2024 application form-filling process for ALP and Technician posts is over now. RRB ALP 2024 application form status for Technician posts was released for the Technician Grade 1 Signal post. RRBs completed the scrutiny of the applications and candidates can view the status of their applications-Provisionally accepted/Provisionally accepted with conditions/Rejected (Along with reasons for rejection) by logging in with the required credentials. Candidates could apply for the exam by paying the required fees online. RRB ALP application form fee is INR 500 for General and OBC categories while it is INR 250 for SC/ST/Ex-Serviceman/Female/Transgender/Minorities/Economically backward class.

RRB ALP Exam Centres
RRB ALP exam centres are released 10 days before the scheduled CBT exam. To check the exam centres, candidates need to login with user ID and password. RRB ALP Syllabus CBT 2
The syllabus for CBT 2 comprises two parts-A and B. The syllabus for both the parts is given below:

Mathematics: Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work; Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square Root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc.
General Intelligence and Reasoning: Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and decision making, Similarities and differences, Analytical reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions etc.
Basic Science and Engineering: The broad topics that are covered under this shall be Engineering Drawing (Projections, Views, Drawing Instruments, Lines, Geometric figures, Symbolic Representation), Units, Measurements, Mass Weight and Density, Work Power and Energy, Speed and Velocity, Heat and Temperature, Basic Electricity, Levers and Simple Machines, Occupational Safety and Health, Environment Education, IT Literacy etc.
General Awareness: Current Affairs in Science & Technology, Sports, Culture, Personalities, Economics, Politics and any other subjects of importance.
Part B
The questions in this part are asked from the trade syllabus prescribed by Director General of Employment & Training (DGET). Candidates with ITI/Trade Apprenticeship qualification will be required to appear in the section having questions from the relevant trade. Candidates holding Degree, Diploma and HSC (10+2) having eligibility for the posts of ALP have to select relevant trade from the list of trades listed against their engineering discipline/HSC (10+2).
RRB ALP Exam Pattern 2024
The stage-wise RRB ALP Exam Pattern is explained below:
RRB ALP First Stage CBT
- This stage is common for ALP & Technician posts and is qualifying in nature. This means the marks obtained in this stage will not be counted for final merit list
- The paper contains 75 objective type questions (MCQs) and total time given to complete the paper is 60 minutes
- Each question carries one mark, hence, the total mark of the paper is 75
- There is negative marking for incorrect answers, ⅓ mark is deducted for wrong answer
RRB ALP Second Stage CBT
- Those who secure cut off marks in first stage CBT, get a call for second stage CBT
- This stage of the exam is divided into two parts-A and B
- Part A will have 100 questions and the total time is 90 minutes
- Part B will have 75 questions and the duration of the paper is 60 minutes
- There is negative marking for incorrect answers, ⅓ mark is deducted for one wrong answer
- The marks obtained in Part A is used to shortlist candidates for further rounds of selection
- Part B is qualifying in nature
RRB ALP CBAT
- This stage is only for those candidates who have applied for Assistant Loco Pilots
- Question papers are made available in both English and Hindi
- There are five test batters, candidates need to score certain marks in each test battery to qualify the exam
- The total marks allotted to this stage is 42 marks
RRB ALP Document Verification
- For ALP post, shortlisting for Document Verification is done based on Part A of CBT 2 provided candidates qualify Part B and CBAT
- For Technician post, shortlisting for Document Verification is done based on Part A of CBT 2 provided candidates qualify Part B
- Candidates need to carry the original documents asked by RRBs on the day of document verification
- If any candidate fails to submit original documents or if any document is found fake, the candidature of that candidate is canceled
RRB ALP Preparation Tips
As part of RRB ALP preparation tips, candidates must practice sample papers or previous years’ question papers for every topic. Study regularly, and keep formulas and steps to solve problems at your fingertips. Practice and revise properly for the exam.
RRB ALP Result
RRB ALP result is announced separately for different stages. The result PDF contains the names of the successful candidates. The marks of candidates are normalised to announce the result. The scorecard is released along with the RRB ALP result. To check the scorecard, candidates need to login with user ID and password.
RRB ALP Cutoff
RRBs release the separate list of the RRB ALP cut off for Assistant Loco Pilot and Technician as per zone-wise and category-wise. Candidates must obtain the minimum RRB ALP cut off marks in each stage so as to clear the exam. Besides, candidates need to secure the qualifying marks prescribed for different stages of recruitment.
